Internet connection: 1 hour= 6 Euros (!!!!!)How is this possible in The Netherlands in 2011?

Very expensive, poor facilities (shower up to my hip), run down.

1. The rooms are absolutely not cosy, though we had very high celings. 2. rooms are always wet, in the bathroom the walls are somewhere musty(no ventilation).

As we were on the 3rd floor had a fantastic view of the canal.

Didnt realise that we had to pay city taxes increasing the cosct by 11%.

I liked the location as the hotel was along the Kloveniersburgwal which makes for some good camera pictures. The Hotel is merely 5 minutes walk from the popular warmoesstraat and red light district and there are also many bars, coffeshops and retail outlets very close by. The train station is only about a 10 minute walk from the Hotel which is handy as it is by far cheaper paying 6 euros for a train ride from schipol to Amsterdam central as opposed to about 50 euros in a taxi which is subject to traffic jams and waits. The rooms have good power showers which are great as they are just what are needed to wake up in the morning, and the rooms also have digital TV. I found that the radiators kicked out alot of heat when on full and this was great especially as during my stay it was freezing cold and all the canals had frozen over.

I loved everything about the hotel other than when i was relaxing in bed in the morning and the cleaner knocked on the door then said out loud "house keeping"... she then proceeded to just barge her way through the door without waiting for a reply. Luckily for me I had all my clothes on, but i do recommend that more courtesy be should be required from the cleaner in future. Despite this grumble about the cleaner though, she was actually a nice friendly chatty lady.

The rooms are small and very noisy. We stayed in the annex first and were moved to a room in the hotel. Very expensive for the quality of the room

The room allocated was nothing like described on the website, the bathroom was so small we where unable to use the shower as the space was rediculous

Nothing unfortunately. We had a very disappointing experience.

Very very disappointing. The room was tiny and dark. We had to climb over the bed to get to the tiny bathroom. Nowhere to sit in the room. No reading lights; broken shower; no hot water in the morning. We asked to change rooms because oiut room was unacceptable but we were told the hotel was fully booked. I feel we were cheated because we paid for a 3- star room and the room we were given was definitely a 0-star room. The staff didn't care and wouldn't do anything to help. We were still charged 3-star prices. If you ever go to this hotel and are offered room 118, leave immediately. Better not to bother with this hotel at all.
