‘Boom Chicago’ (0.3km) – A partially improvised English-language comedy show, playing every night of the week. Housed in the historic Leidseplein Theatre, this popular show has been running for 11 years and is now something of an Amsterdam institution.

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam (0.4km) – The richly decorated national museum of the Netherlands, dedicated to arts, crafts and history. Includes paintings by Jacob van Ruysdael, Frans Hals, Johannes Vermeer and Rembrandt.

Vondelpark (0.5km) – Amsterdam’s largest municipal park, created in 1864 and designed by Jan David Zocher. Millions flock here each year to take time out and relax. Free theatre and music is staged during the summer months.

Travel information

By air:
The Connexxion shuttle service stops close to the hotel, and travels to and from Amsterdam Schiphol airport (9.9km). Journey time is approximately 30 minutes, and the cost is EUR 11.00 (one-way). The shuttle runs every 30 minutes between 07:00 and 18:00, and every hour between 18:00 and 21:00 (please inquire at the hotel for precise timings)

A taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost approximately EUR 25.00.

By tram:
Tram services 1, 2 and 5 all leave from Station Amsterdam Centraal (2.2km) and run close to the hotel.

By car:
From A2 Utrecht:
- On the A2, turn right at the first set of traffic-lights after 'Utrechtsebrug'.
- Follow the 'Amsteldijk' until you reach the T-junction at the end.
- Turn left onto 'Stadhouderskade' and continue for approximately 4km.
- The hotel is on your left, just beyond the 'Leidseplein' (on your right).
- For parking, turn left off ‘Stadhouderskade’, just before the ‘Leidseplein’ into 'Tesselschadestraat'. Directly on your left is the 'Byzantium Garage' (see below for details).

From A4 Schiphol Airport / The Hague:
- From the A4, take the S-106 exit (right).
- At the end of the exit, head right into ‘Surinameplein’.
- Continue straight over a bridge and take a left turn onto 'Overtoom'.
- At the end of the 'Overtoom', turn right into 'Stadhouderskade'.
- From here the hotel is almost immediately on your right.
- For parking, take the second street on the right, the 'Tesselschadestraat'. - ‘Byzantium garage’ will be on your left (see below for charge details).

From A1 Amersfoort-Diemen:
- Follow the signs for 'Amsterdam Z.O.' and 'Schiphol'. Take the S-112 exit.
- Enterering the city at the Amstel railway station, follow the sign for 'Centre'. You are now on the 'Wibautstraat'.
- When you come to a large crossing at the 'Mauritskade', turn left.
- Cross the 'Amstel Canal' and continue along 'Stadhouderskade' for approximately 4km.
- The hotel is on your left, just beyond the 'Leidseplein' (on your right).
- For parking, turn left off ‘Stadhouderskade’, just before the ‘Leidseplein’ into 'Tesselschadestraat'. Directly on your left is the 'Byzantium Garage' – (see below for details).

From N5 Haarlem:
- From the 'Haarlemmerweg' turn right onto the A10, in the direction of 'Den Haag-Utrecht'.
- Take the S-106 exit (left).
- At the end of the exit, head right into ‘Surinameplein’.
