NH Caransa  

Friendly staff. Great location. We requested a room with a view of the city. We were allocated room 601 which was excellent. It is on the top floor on the corner. Great view of the city and the main square below. The tram stop is right outside the hotel entrance and both the number 9 and 14 are frequent and take you to Dam Square, Central Station. The trams are a great way to travel around the city and you can buy tickets at Central Station. It costs 15.50 euro per person for 3 days. The square at the hotel is very lively with a great atmosphere. Food and drink is a little more expensive than other areas but we ate there several times. You can walk from the hotel to Dam Sqaure in 10 minutes with the tram taking less than 5. We ate one night at the floating Chinese restaurant near to Central Station. Wow, it was fantastic so please try. We love Amsterdam.

The square can be a little noisy at night due to trams and bars but this was not a problem for us, that is was you expect in the heart of city life.

The location is just amazing. You are just in very middle of Amsterdam's night life and the city's center.

The price could be a little cheaper.

The hotel itself was clean and quiet and the staff were super friendly. The room I stayed in was big, spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. I have stayed in 3 different nh hotels in Amsterdam and each time I have had an amazing stay / experience. I highly recommend staying with them.

The location was perfect, just in the heart of amsterdam in a square full of bars and restaurants and close to everything... We were given a room with a double bed as we had asked for. The staff was nice.

Room was small, the floor was not cleaned not even once during oyr stay there and we stayed for 5 nights!!

When we saw standard double room we immidiately decided to pay upgrade of additional 30 EUR per day for a business room. Standard double was very small and it had a view on the wall of neighbour building- terrible and deffinitely not wothed 170 EUR p.n. !!! So in the end we paied 200 EUR per night and the room was good on the top flore with a nice view on the canal...although still way too expencive compared to the quality.

there was a system issue with my booking that popped up twice in the hotel system- with one empty reservation. the staff at the reception were unable to make a decision and void one of them and assure me it was going to be OK- she said she'd check with her manager given it's a non-refundable rate. it left me anxious obviously. it was then solved in a professional manner but that first impression was already destroyed. not including a breakfast, even for low fares, is not a good marketing, in my opinion. then offerig it at a till for a rate of 20eur made me want to laugh- as you can get a decent 3 course meal in a nice restaurant in Amsterdam for this price.

I thought the hotel was lovely and clean. Room was very comfortable. The staff was friendly. Very good location,have been to Amsterdam three times and three different hotels,NH Caransa was the nicest hotel and I will definitely stay there again.

The location was superb, cleanign service is good, and rooms themselves are newly refurbished and comfortable. Big windows with a view on the street outside was a great plus.

There was only one computer downstairs, always busy and very slow.
