NH Doelen  

La situació és excel·lent ja que es pot anar a peu a tot arreu. Situation is excellent, you can go everywhere walking.

Hauria de ser actualitzat, especialment les habitacions. The rooms should be updated.

Excellent location

The rooms were too small and facilities minimal for a 4 star rating and even by NH standard.

Central location, generally comfortable rooms (see below), lovely old building.

The rooms that overlook the water face south-east. When we stayed at the Doelen, we arrived in an Indian summer which half of Amsterdam celebrated by going out in little boats and playing loud music. There is no air-conditioning, so the choice was to keep the windows shut and swelter or leave them open and be kept awake by the noise. After one night we upgraded to another room facing north-east (fantastic view of Kloveniersburgwal), which was a lot better, but also more expensive. We didn't bother with the 19 Euro (!) breakfast, but wouldn't have minded something a little better in our room than a kettle and instant coffee.

The absolutely superb location.

I think this hotel need renovation, the window have to with double Glass, not single glass because i still can feel the cold wind from outside in the windy day.

Single room size of a cell the bed was to small to roll over,asked for up grade charged 30 euro per night even though hotel nearly empty. The rooms are very dated tv a old type no money put back in hotel, Living on a past repution will not be back.

The professional approach of its Staff, location downtown, and good price.

Old atmosphere, and location. We got a big bathroom with a window. Staff. Teapot and tea-things are ok.

Rooms definitely need a renovation (furniture and wallpapers in poor condition). Air in the room was a bit dusty (old carpet I suppose) - not good for allergic people. Also beds are too soft. Cabinet and shower were broken, they fixed it next day after my chek-in, then it was ok. Annoying noise from the street (and canal view only for extra 30 EUR per night).

Grand building (and therefore no steep steps) and a lift located in the heart of Amsterdam between the centraal station and the leidseplien, just north of Rembrandtplien, a great location.

Bed was very soft and the rooms we had were not air-conditioned, but these issues were expected and did not affect our experience.

The ration between price and quality is very low.

The only p-lus I would say about this hotel is the fact that it's situated in the city centre,otherwise I wouldn't stay here again, the rooms were extremely small and cleanliness was never the strong point!!

Size of rooms, cleanlines, they didn't have any smoking rooms available.
