Have stayed at the hotel twice before. On the 1st visit we where lucky enough to get upgraded to a room with a balcony, the next visit the standard of the room was a bit of a let down, but nothing to this visit the room could'nt have smaller and the view; well what can I say a brick wall a beautiful view of a brick wall............ So it would seem if staying at the krasnapolsky you start at the top and work your way down. Cant imagine we'll be back dont fancy sleeping in the basement.

Plush hotel with charming staff. Several eateries if you can afford them. Comfortable bedroom. The room did not have double glazing and noise from the Dam Square could be heard all night. Ask for an internal room. I expect years ago the hotel was situated in an upmarket district, but now it is dirty with litter and busy with tourists and party revellers. There is nothing very wrong with the hotel itself.

Great location, good service, good food, great building/facility & friendly staff who are multilingual The wi-fi didnt work in our room or very well in the rest of the hotel. The two waste-water outlets in our room didnt work well at all. The tiles were chipped or cracked and the room needed renovation which was reported to the desk. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep.

I was offered free breakfast as it was my birthday, which was very nice touch. Staff really very nice and helpful. The initial look of the hotel lobby is very inviting and smart (needs a good clean up outside though a new canopy would make the hotel look much more appealing) Although breakfast was free to me, I would have been very dissapointed if we had paid almost 30 euro each for it. The breakfast room was over bearingly warm as was the bedroom. The a/c did not work which meant we had to sleep with the window open which was fine until the clock chimed. The shower temperature was very unstable, at one point jumping to a very high temperature without warning which could have resulted in scalding.

The room was absolutely fantastic! Very modern and comfortable. The place is very grand and kept to a high standard. The staff were very short and far from friendly. Checking in was 30 minutes!

location the room advetised on the internet is not the room you recieved. it is a 5 star but i would only rate it as a 3 star as i have stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world and this was the poorest one i have stayed in.

The location was perfect but too much noisy. The staff of the hotel especially at the reception was not polite and helpfull. Always talking with the phone and not looking to the guests. The room was small and furnichures were old and dirty. Especiall the carpet was too dirty. The door of the wc was not useful. The location of the hotel was reaaly perfect but if the room was looking to the Dam square it is not easy to sleep because of to much voice at night and early in the morning

Directly in the city center. Very good choice of breakfast. The room was smelling of cigarette smoke, toilet not working, AC could not be controlled. Wery rude reception staff kept picking phones during conversation with me and interrupting check-in/out process.

Location and design are great During a busy weekend, such as the easter break, the hotel staff is quite overwhelmed and no able to cope with the demand, especially at the desks. Senior staff is nowhere to be seen, the work is handled by interns.

Hotel is on excellent position, clean, but not for 5 stars. Wi-Fi Internet free on the reception, but not in the room. It's facilities are not as it should be as for 5 star hotel.

Location and friendliness of staff, particularly check-in staff. Some equipment not in working order. One item, hair dryer, replaced immediately when front desk notified. Second item, ice-maker, told I could use one on another floor!!

This was my first stay, indeed the first time I have entered the hotel. I have known of the Krasnapolsky having visited Amsterdam for weekend breaks for 30 years. The hotel easily met my expectations for luxury and service. I was pleasantly surprised at the modest cost for a hotel of this calibre. I will certainly visit again, it's nice to spoil yourself occasionaly.

Great room in the main building, rest of the rooms can be really old. Hotel can be like a train station but location is really good. Breakfast is amazing. Just make sure you book a nice room or you will be disappointed. Service has gone down in this hotel, it used to be very different but I guess they are working on this. This hotel miss a great Spa, that would make this a really good five star. So great Location, great breakfast but poor equipment and not amazing rooms for a 5 star
