The pictures of the rooms we saw were the executive rooms, so when we went there we had to do an upgrade to get what we wanted, I felt ripped off |

central and convenient The hotel has two sections that is very apparent now, the newly renovated and the old, the old section is not to the standard at all, the rooms are very old, smells, toilets and showers with plenty of problems, toiletries are not available. highly suggest stop bookings in the old section, or advise customers, better yet provide option. |

location room is too small and the channels selections on tv are too few. Directions to elevator 4 and 5 are confusing and hard to find. Everyone seems to make 2 trips to find it. |

Large, busy city centre hotel, well placed for sight-seeing. Room was comfortable and very quiet at night. Tea/coffee-making facility was a bonus. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Large queues at reception for check-in and check-out. Being assigned a single room despite having paid in advance for a double. Room rates and breakfast were exorbitantly expensive for the quality offered. Being charged one Euro for a glass of tap water in the bar. The ten Euros added to my bill which were not explained at check-out. |

location good for central Amsterdam walking distance to trams and station and cruise canal tours. Far too busy and informal No personal touch at all. De Luxe executive suite were eqivalant to a standard room at any good hotel certainly not value for money and very poor toilet facilities - no body lotion, sliver of soap, very cramped space and noisy overlooking the Dam Square. Not 5 star quality and very overpriced. |

Center of the city. Nice breakfast room (art deco) and rich breakfast offer. Pleasant people. An hotel where you feel good. The first night with a room where we could hear the noise from the road until 3 am. After having changed the room this was ok. This happened in spite of the fact we asked for 2 quite rooms when checking in. |

Staff were very helpful, good central location, clean, functional and good service. I had a very quiet room. Not as tip top as would have expected from a 5* in Amsterdam, thought would have been much more luxurious. Think could do with better decor and the whole place given a bit of a spruce up, be aware no check in until 3pm! No breakfast either and the price of it was very high. It is more of a functional business hotel than a luxurious boutique type. |

the perfect location , and the sense of historical glorious past, you can hear the walls telling their secrets........... the glorious was in the past . although i picked up and payed for the executive room , the decor is simple and worn. the sink is a memory of the bad side of the 70th and so is the elevator. No double glazing window which made the nights in front of the square noisy. |
