When I Arrived They asked to pre pay the room 259euro and tourist tax 271euro and 100euro caution....I was agree to prepay the room 271euro before i slept and saw the room as confidence but 100euro caution above??I did many reservations with booking.com ,even at Dubai they did'nt asked me this!They agree after 15minutes of discussion ....but we could'nt use any facility as mini bar.....even not for water!At 6H The glass of all the bottles from a week where removed from the container and we where shake awake!Bad rooms are given for booking.com Hope to get any information if the caution is used because i did'nt read about in the conditions of use ?is it possible???to ask what amount they like?Thanks |

The location is perfect for visiting Amsterdam as a tourist. The frontdesk clercs frequently pulled up the wrong room and bill from the computer. Internet in the room was extremely slow. |

Good breakfast in the very stylish winter gardens restaurant (but expensive at an additional 28,50 euro per person). Excellent buffe lunch. Good and central location. We had booked a double room. On arrival we were given a room that can only be described as a single room (small, 120 cm bed, one toothbrush). We were allowed to change but at a 5 star hotel you expect to get the room you have booked and paid for without asking. Bathroom not upto 5 star standard (big and clean but stylewise more like a motel). |

The location is great, staff are friendly We were advised that the double room with a queensize bed we had booked was not available and that we would be upgraded but the upgrade only has two beds pushed together. I reluctantly agreed, however, I was very disappointed as this room was certainly no better than the 4 star standard roooms I often stay in for business trips. For an upgraded 5 star room, I was very disappointed and had a terible nights sleep, falling through the gap in the bed trying to snuggle my girlfriend. I complained the following morning and was treated very nicely and given a fantastic rooftop room with a kingsize and a balcony. I feel agrieved that I was not offered this in the first place. |

The helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room and the general ambience of the hotel. We visited over New Year and the temperature was below freezing so it was nice to come back to a warm, welcoming hotel The breakfast a 28 (euros) was grossly over priced therefore we did not breakfast in the hotel but sought a cheaper alternative outside of the hotel. I think the hotel could have provided a cheaper alternative which has happened at other 4 star hotels we have stopped in. This is OK in the summer but in the winter was not so good. We did have a snack meal in the hotel lounge which was good. |

Best thing about this hotel is its location. Hotel benefits from prime location and reputable historical brand name. If you however look for a quality luxury hotel in the center of Amsterdam there are better alternatives. |
