This is the best hotel in Amsterdam. I have stayed there 6 times now and it's absolutely wonderful. Request a room with a view of Dam Square and it's just a quick walk from the main train station.

Have stayed at the hotel twice before. On the 1st visit we where lucky enough to get upgraded to a room with a balcony, the next visit the standard of the room was a bit of a let down, but nothing to this visit the room could'nt have smaller and the view; well what can I say a brick wall a beautiful view of a brick wall............ So it would seem if staying at the krasnapolsky you start at the top and work your way down. Cant imagine we'll be back dont fancy sleeping in the basement.

It is NOT a 4 stars hotel, a 2 or 3 stars hotel at the most!!!!!!!!!! Front desk service was rude and helpless. Room was so poorely decorated and the heater did not work in the bathroom. Gym does not open until noon for those who like to excercise the morning.... Elevator was stock the first day. There are many hotel in Amsterdam, i dont think it is a good choise to stay at that one. Never again i will stay here, thats for sure!!!

the size of the room and location. It needs a rennovation using lux materials and finishes. The tiles in the bathroom are the same ones i have seen in cheap hotels and commerical ceiling tiles on the ceiling is a shame..made it look very unchic with no taste. My room door lock did not always work and i have to change room at 2AM in the morning and i waited almost 30 mins for the door to be serviced.

The Location, the afternoon tea, the convenience of transport. Rather noisy. The front staff are rather offhand. For example when checking people in you should not prioritise telephone calls and leave guests waiting!

Very well located Mixed up the booking, had to move rooms, the AC didn't work and tried to tel me that it was fine eventually gave us a portable AC unit which rattled , staff were quite rude when I calmly complained and conversed in dutch, I eventually gave up complaining and decided to make the most of stay.there is no way this is a 5 star hotel! Filed an official complaint at the end of our stay I am waiting for a responce

Very little. Very run down, over-priced hotel trading on its name. At best a 3 star and even then it does justice to Fawlty Towers.

Location is really great- it takes you a few minutes to reach main places of interest of the city, shopping centers, decent cafes&restaurants, etc. Room service leaves much to be desired. We leaved in apartments, which are not in the main building. The entrance was from the channel side in a narrow and crowded street, next to a coffee-shop...with all the consequences that come with it.

We looked at three rooms as the first was horrible and had a view of a factory of some sort. After paying €100 for an upgrade we got a fantastic room overlooking Dam Square. I wouldn't stay here without the upgrade. Terrible view in standard rooms. Huge hotel so you walk miles to get anywhere and the service suffers. Would prefer a smaller more personal hotel. A pull out bed we order when reserving 2 months prior turned up at 9pm the first night for our young child. The parking is €50 a day so when added to the all important room upgrade, the 2 nights cost near €500. We later found much nicer hotels by the park in the museum district for next time.

The hotel had a very rustic atmosphere, which was nice. The location was great, we practically walked to all the major sights n shopping areas. The room was very big, and clean. Very happy with my stay there. Will definately return The breakfast was served in St. John's room becos the Winter garden roomwas booked for a conference, so we did not get a chance to enjoy our breakfast in that enviroment, as advertised on their website. This was quite disappointing.

There was no space to stop a car in front of the hotel. In front of the door there are 2 places for drop off. These two places were taken by 3 waiting taxis. The person who dropped us off had to stop on the road to unload the luggage, but the police gave imidiately a ticket for stopping and unloading of € 60,00!! This makes this hotel totaly unsuitable for people dropped of by car.

Location and the hotel history Totally over priced for the rooms quality and hotel overall maintenance. The hotel has a long history that did not translate into how the hotel is maintaine; moreover, it is given a misleading rating where in comparison to real 5 stars hotels Krasnapolsky should score 3. it was a disappointing experience in total
