The Staff and service was excellent! The breakfast in the morning is far more than most breakfasts you find in Europe. Most places will have coffee and danish but this hotel had scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, juice, meats and cheeses, breads with the little candy sprinkles. In the evening it had a great area to sit and relax with a drink, very relaxing. The room was a little on the small side, made me think I was in Japan again. The bed had a few loose springs that would wake you up in the middle of the night with an ache, then you find a new spot and sleep for another hour until the next ache would wake you again.

Stayed here over new year weekend on way up through holland. This time of year the reception and bar area was very festive. Bonus feature free parking on street. So handy for lovely town of middle burg. Very reasonably priced especially as paid in euro. Huge buffet breakfast in good room, not your usual basement. Some previous comments about unhelpful staff but we found all those who we encountered were pleasant and able to deal with any questions we had. We will return even if it means going out of our way.

The hotel appeared recently renovated and the room was comfortable and warm, even with minus temperatures outside. The staff were helpful and breakfast was very enjoyable. We will go again.

The hospitality is famous and never found elsewhere. For example: the hotelbar stays open al long as the guests want. In dutch we say: "gezellig" .

Location near the train station and next to the canal was delightful. No front desk. No staff available significant portions of the time. We were given a room that was not made up and had to be moved when we arrived.

The staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I liked the quirkiness of the hotel. I think it says a lot when people from other places used the bar of an evening as "their local" because it was friendly. It is in a great location for all shops, amenities and places of interest. It is great for watching the bridge opening and the boats going by. Something I am sure children will like. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were continually replenishing food. Tables were cleared and reset straight away so it didnt look messy at all. I will saty there again with pleasure and reccommend the hotel to others.

Het hotel ligt prachtig; dichtbij de binnenstad en dichtbij water. Het uitzicht is mooi. De kamer is prima, niet supermodern, gewoon goed. Het personeel is behulpzaam en vriendelijk. De jacuzzi was heerlijk. Een klein detail: enkele lampen op de kamer deden het niet. Een medewerker was bereid om dit op te lossen, maar hij kon niet bij de reservelampen (lagen achter slot en grendel....) en de baas was niet bereid om naar het hotel te komen. De medewerker bood als compensatie een drankje aan, maar dat hoefde voor ons niet. Ik vind het echt vreemd dat de reservelampen niet beschikbaar liggen voor het personeel. Er klinken zoveel negatieve boodschappen uit dit futiliteitje! (baas vertrouwt personeel niet, klant is niet belangrijk, arrogante baas, personeel mag geen verantwoordelijkheid dragen, etc.)

fantastische bediening: vrolijk,voorkomend en vriendelijk.. Het hotel is wat gedateerd, maar dat is juist leuk. Een nieuw verfje is niet overbodig. De lift moet gerenoveerd worden. De badkamers ruiken niet fris...

zeer gastvrij personeel en prima ontbijt. Het is een wat verouderd hotel, echter voor een weekendje weg een echte aanrader. De familiekamer was erg ruim en prima om met zijn viertjes als uitvalbasis te gebruiken. Het hotel kan een opfrisbeurt gebruiken. M.n. de vloerbedekking op de kamers en in de gangen / trappenhal heeft zijn beste tijd gehad.

Bij hotel de nieuwe doelen kregen we een erg hartelijk welkom terwijl we vrij laat op de avond binnen kwamen. Zeer vriendelijk personeel waardoor we ons erg op ons gemak voelde en daardoor ontspannen van een weekendje middelburg konden genieten
