The Okura is a very distinctive hotel in Amsterdam. Staff is very friendly, restaurants are excellent (but expensive), and location in pretty good (although not super central). We received an upgrade when we checked in. Charged for pool/ fitness facility and Internet. Breakfast not included in our rate and expensive. Otherwise, loved our stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, lovely restaurants and we were given an upgrade on check in! I was not impressed that in addition to the high cost of the hotel, breakfast was an added extra as well as using the swimming pool or gym facilities at an extra 15 euro per person, this was not good.

The airconditioning in one of the rooms did not work the first night. The shower curtains were filthy (mould) in both rooms.

Really helpful staff and luxury feel, rooms are beautiful and the view is really impressive from the higher floors. Bar on the top 4 is small and dark, and does not feel so relaxing / luxury.

Japanese style and very good concierge people. Specially mr lex. I paied for 2 nights and had to shorten my visit to 2 night. I asked the hotel to accept it but they were very reluctant to do so and did not accept it. We had to leave one day earlier without getting back the money. However, they upgraded us the room and gave us free interenet in reutrn for that.

Very good, professional staff and all the expected services. We liked the location, away from the noise and madness of inner Amsterdam, near good restaurants and a short tram ride to the museums. Reasonable price for 4/5 star hotel in Amsterdam, but.............. This hotel is like a grande dame who is showing her petticoat. Mould around the bottom of the shower curtain (in ultra clean Holland!), our room on the 8th floor in need of renovation and the air conditioning on a hot early September weekend was completely useless. Such a pity!

The view from the room and on the 23 rd floor is beautiful. Unfortunately the thermostat of the bath didi not work and the response was that the previous guest did not report that , i would expect that a hotel of this price would check every room for defects by themself.

Terrible ripoff. We stayed in an old room (no price break) as we are mother and son and there are no rooms that have two beds except the unrenovated rooms - a total waste of money - out of town, no services - evrything is an extra charge if you can belive - it $600 a night for a dinky room like in a rural chinese hotel. Gimme a break Rip off

As we are Japanese, we know well about the Hotel Okura. Service and facilities are the best quality in the world, hotel staffs are not something like polite on the surface but actually contemptuous, they are really well mannered, professionally trained. We found some comments that it was located a few tens of minutes away by tram from the Amsterdam Central Station. The tram 25 (runs every 15 minutes) took us about 15 minutes actually, tolerable enough. Hotel can arrange a taxi to Schiphol Airport at 33 euro and it takes just 15 minutes. I recommend to use the taxi to come and go between the airport and hotel.

The room situated on the 16th floor was nicely decorated and with a wonderfull view on the city. You can take a bath, enjoy the music and watch tv or watch your partner laying on the bed. Bathroom with good showerinstallation. Coffee and thee can be made in the room. Bed with good matras. The Japanese restaurant was top (one Michelin star). We didn't have time to explore the wellness facilities, but we will come back to do so, certainly with the promotional possibilities off booking.com. Hall and lobby are beautifully decorated, with Japanese accents and design. I think the breakfastprice is exagerated ( € 29). You should expect home made marmelade and not 'Bonne Maman'. Real champagne and not Crémant. A wide range of thee in stead of an ordinary Earl Grey. More sorts of bread (wholemeal, bio,...). The wellness (sauna, swimming pool) should be accessible for hotelguests for free. This critique only to improve the satisfaction about the hotel.
