Teranjaki restaurant world class
Attendants; breakfast; room; staff.
High quality hotel.
Location was good. Friendly staff at reception. Nice hotel.
Lighting in room was poor. Cost for breakfast - totally over the top, service was not great either. Water far too expensive.
1. Cleanliness of hotel 2. Good and polite staff
1. long distance from town 2. Breakfast too expensive
Our dinner at Ciel Bleu was an extraodinary and unexpected pleasure! It was the high point of our wonderful stay at the Okura in Amsterdam.
The staff is excellent The hotel is much better inside that the look from outside It has great restaurants and perfect decoration at the lobby
The housekeeping calls you at 8am! But if you are not already up with that... the is a noise on the wall at the corridor which is made by the hoover. The rooms are small and simple, the bathroom is very nice but it doesn't look as a 5 stars
Staff, room ,breakfast
They charge 100€ as a deposit per night so you will not enjoy there attractive offers .
Excellent bedding and bathing facilties. Professional staff. Spacy room - we got a junior suite upgrade. Tramway stop almost across the street.
The Okura is in the rather dull outskirts of Amsterdam. Breakfast is way too expensive - fortunately there are enough breakfast shops within minutes walking
Very nice people good food good restaurant excellent hotel, thank you for booking.com
everything about this hotel is just as i expected from a five star hotel, as this was my first leisure trip to amsterdam the location was great, the staff were always professional, nothing is too much for them, very polite and friendly. we are planning our next trip already
the only downside was cooked breakfast was cold, and the ht chocolate for my son was also cold but was replaced as soon as i complained
Best place I have ever had the pleasure to stay at The rooms were very clean Lovely designed room Great bed Great bathroom Great coffee maker Fantastic room all up definitely recommend
Wifi a bit slow And room service a tad expensive for what it was
Everything was good.
The bathtub valve wasn't clean.
Service Minded staff. Very nice and clean rooms. Would definitely stay there again.
Very responsive when we complained about very unpleasant neighbouring guests who created a lot of disturbance two nights running. We were moved to another room without fuss and thoroughly enjoyed the remainder of our stay. The Tepinyaki restaurant was superb.
Having to pay extra to use the pool. We didn't therefore.
Holland hotels are tricky, what is classified 5 stars in amsterdam would be an easy 3 in other parts of the world. Hotel Okura was comfortable, had access to some of the best restaurants in Amsterdam and has a minor elegant of luxury to it.
Room Service after hours are meals prepared earlier by a chef and then put in a fridge or heated up, unacceptable from a five star standard. Staff in the 23 bar are very rude, condescending and have little respect. Wifi is deplorable, they have an option of free wifi which is handy for browsing however the paid option is the same strength quality and unable to download large file emails. The room service was very slack leaving half empty cans of red bull around the room, not cleaning things properly etc after staying in this hotel for 10 days, i expected so much more. Managerial staff were superb in dealing with my concerns however the hotel still was not good enough and left me feeling disappointed especially after receiving a 1200 Euro room service bill. Very overpriced for what it is! Recommend 1-2 nights max!
the best hotel in amsterdam
only slow free wi fi
Staff v helpful. Comfortable
Breakfast very expensive.
Everything, from the comfort and space afforded to the helpfulness and friendliness shown by the staff, there was nothing which did not delight.
There was nothing not to like.
Quiet location. Very tidy and clean. Helpful staff. Not too far from Central city locations and very close to restaurants etc. We enjoyed a Summer bargain price which was within our budget otherwise we would have gone elsewhere.
Would have preferred a kettle in the room to the limited coffee maker. Breakfasts are ridiculously expensive. Duvet was too warm for the Summer climate.
The atmosphere - the place itself and the attentive staff.
There was nothing that we didn't like.
On discovering that our "upgraded" room on the 14th floor was a quite depressing, old-fashioned and tiny room the staff quickly and happily upgraded us to a junior suite. The buffet breakfast was expensive (35 euros each) but very good.
The use of the pool is an exorbitant 15 euros extra per person per day, the free wif-fi is a trap to get you to upgrade to the paid for "fast internet" and overall the rooms don't feel as well appointed as the lobby. A bit of a let-down and not the luxurious stay we'd hoped for.
A very nice Hotel, offering the kind of service you would expect from a five star hotel. Especially the view from the upper floors is worth the trip, and definitely worth an upgrade. I personally recommend a room on the executive floor.
Extra charge for parking the Car.
Quiet area. Nice view. Comfortable room and bed. Attentive staff. Very good breakfast.
The soundproofing is very mediocre for a hotel of this quality. The first night, a group of young people was screaming, giggling, and laughing in the rooms next to ours and we had to call the reception at midnight to send a security person. The second morning we were awakened by a screaming baby at 5:15 am. Besides that, the hotel is quite far from the main attractions so we had to use the tram all the time. Probably a good hotel for business but not so much for leisure. As it was a last minute trip, we were glad to find a room here, but next time we'll try to plan ahead and book in the Western canl/Jordaan district.
