Olive Bed and Breakfast

Perfect location in a quite calm and beautiful alley, nice host and a very fresch room with clean appearance. Really comfortable furniture. Very narrow and steep stairs, as in all apartments in Amsterdam, really charming. Fully equipped kitchen minus oven. A really small toilet-room with only cold water in the smallest cutest sink and a shower in the other end, shared with rest of the rooms. Close to everything, grocery stores, cafés, markets and trams. Really recommendable!

The owner is a gentleman and very accommodating. Room was lovely, very comfortable and relaxing. Nice cafes and parks only 5 mins walking distance from the b & b. Short tram journey into Central, would highly recommend.

Bathroom was shared with one other room but very clean and well maintained, wasn't a major inconvenience.

We liked very much the owner. He was from turkey and he was really very busy to make us comfortable. The room was big enough and the bed it was really comfortable. The kitchen fully equpied.

Bathroom was very small, and no warm water at the sink, but if you want you can use the kitchen sink because is very close. No oven- only microwave

Location was good and the owner was really super nice.

Overall it was a nice place to stay.

It's really an apartment absolutely pretty, newly refurnished, comfortable and clean. Is very well located, near the Albert Cuypmarket, the museums, etc. We really loved the place and the owner is very nice and helpful.

Is not really a B&B because the breakfast wasn't included and we thought so. The telephone number is from the restaurant below, so when is closed there is no way to contact them.

nog niet kunnen checken maar reservering via internet en betaling via visa is ons niet duidelijk, We hadden de indruk het volledige bedrag betaald te hebben maar dat bleek volgens mensen van olive niet de zijn. Beetje lastig en hebben dan opnieuw betaald. Hebben dit nog niet kunnen checken omdat afrekening visa nog moet komen. Hopelijk is het ok en als niet is het alsnog in orde komt.

El hostel es simple pero muy bien equipado, la cocina tiene todo lo que uno pueda llegar a necesitar y el baño es chiquito pero bien puesto. El cuarto tiene un espacio razonable, y todo parece nuevo y bien pensado. El dueño es simpático, atiende también el restaurant de abajo así que en general está ocupado, con lo cual uno está medio por su cuenta, pero muy amable y también le da la libertad a uno de entrar y salir a piaccere. La ubicación, si bien no es céntrica, está muy cerca de barcitos y restaurants con mucha onda, de locales para hacer compras (también del Mercado callejero los fines de semana), del supermercado, y para acceder al centro, del tranvía (pasa a una cuadra, el 16 y el 24 te dejan en la Estación Central).

Hay algo fundamental a tener en cuenta, sobre todo si no se es tan joven o con alguna dificultad motriz, asma, etc. Como la mayoría de los departamentos en Amsterdam, el depto del Olive B&B tiene una escalera abismal; habría que llevarse un arnés para escalarla de lo empinada y larga que es. Como el dueño te da mucha independencia porque tiene que ocuparse de su restaurant, es importante ir bien informado. (Dónde alquilar bicicletas, dónde hacer las compras, etc.) El hostel tiene wi fi así que igual si llevan compu pueden chequearlo en el momento. (Pregunten la clave de wi fi y todo lo que quieran saber cuando lleguen porque capaz después no vuelven a encontrar al dueño!). De todas maneras si lo encuentran va a estar dispuesto a contestarles, es muy amable y atento.

Très bien situé au pied du tram, dans un quartier vivant et proche du centre-ville, propriétaire très sympa, il tient un très bon resto en bas de la maison, petite cuisine à disposition dans l'appart, propre et assez calme. Très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Propre confortable bien situe

The owner - Hussein - was lovely and hospitable. Spacious, well designed, clean and cosy room with a desk and two chairs; two singles nicely joined for couples; towels and toiletries also provided. Also a kitchen, crockery and tea making facilities available to use throughout. Location-wise, it is a short tram ride (trams 16 or 24) from Centraal station and only 10 minutes walk to the Museum Quartier (the tram 10 also goes to Olive from Leidesplein). For organic food lovers (as I am), there is a very well stocked organic health food store called Biomarkt on the Tram 10 route (tram stop is 'Spiegelgracht' and walk for 2 minutes). Overall, a nicely located place - away from the hustle of the centre but close enough for comfort.

The bathroom which was down the hall, in the kitchen area and absolutely miniscule. It is more of a wet room with a toilet squeezed into a cubicle. I didn't mention a sink because it was such a tight squeeze that it was largely non-functional. The 2nd night of our stay the neighbours across the road were partying into the early hours of the morning (with their windows wide open) so we had to endure very loud music which was obviously unpleasant. However, I imagine that had the neighbours shut the windows it would have been bearable as our windows were double glazed (if memory serves).

It is a normal apartment in Amsterdam. U feel like u are a part of the residents in Amsterdam. The room is cozy and clean. Trams and markets just nearby!

Nice B&B outside of central and brings the more relaxed urban side to Amsterdam. Also close to the Museum district and 10 minute tram ride to Central
