Excellent situation, you can go walking everywhere. Excellent staff and also breakfast. You can reach the hotel directly from airport (bus 197) with a very close stop and very cheap (4 €)

Great location, just outside the main hubbub of the city but within easy walking distance of just about everywhere. You can get the 197 bus to and from the airport from 200 metres from the hotel, and the fare is only 4 euros. There is a quiet, sunny, back garden and a very reasonably priced bar. Reception is attended 24 hours and all the staff were very friendly. The rooms are possibly a little old-fashioned for some tastes and there are no tea/coffee facilities. This was my second visit and we would stay at the owl again.

I liked the size of the hotel, not too large and impersonal. The front desk staff were excellent, always available to answer questions and provide suggestions. We got our rooms, which were available, when we arrived at around 9:00am from our overnight flight. It was a huge bonus to be able to get settled early instead of having to wait until later in the day. The location is very good as well, close enough to interesting parts of Amsterdam but in a quiet area. The rooms were basic but had what we needed for the time we were there. I was very happy with my choice of the Owl Hotel.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable as it is very near Leidseplein but placed on a quiet, peaceful street. I stayed in a good sized single bedroom on the first floor with a suprisingly large bathrooom. The room and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Altough I would prefer having free wifi in the room, the hotel has a computer for the use of guests . The right word to describe the breakfast is ''adequate''; very simple European style breakfast but everything served was fresh and of good quality. This hotel has a great little garden, summer time guests would surely enjoy. I didn't use the safe in my room, but it is good to have one. In general, the staff of this hotel was ok with some being very friendly and some not; but all very kind. There is a cat, sometimes wandering around the breakfast room. Altough it is a cutie, it might be a challenge for hygiene and allergies. There is no free wifi in the rooms, that's always a negative point. The room was not very warm and the bath towels were rather small. That wardrobe has plenty of hanging space for clothes but still needs some shelves.

The staff were very friendly and helpful - all spoke good English. The room was bright, big enough and very clean. Great location - close to cafe's, trams and canals. Breakfast very good and plentiful. Would have liked tea & coffee facilities in room or available in dining room during the day - for when you come back after sightseeing for a break before going out again for dinner.

This hotel is in an area that is reasonably quiet at night (rare in Amsterdam) and yet handy to the places of interest in Amsterdam. Breakfast is included and satisfactory. Staff are helpful. I have stayed at the Owl many times. It is a reliable and comfortable hotel.

The Owl Hotel was quite convenient to shops and buses. It was in a good area of Amsterdam. The hotel was also handy to the museum. The staff spoke English which was a great help to us. All in all we enjoyed our stay there. I do not think there was anything we did not like about the Owl Hotel.

The location in the Museum area is excellent; a quiet street away from the bustle of Leidesplein yet just a short walk to Leidesplein to many shops and restaurants, and also only a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of Amsterdam and the historical sights. The staff are very warm and welcoming and the service was very good. We would highly recommend The Owl to anyone going to Amsterdam.

The best was the location. The best was the staff as well except one young man who told about the bus stop to the airport by mistake, and it was at the day of our departure, therefore we could hardly take our plane. Otherwise this man was polite enough. We think it`s because he could not explain in English. Atmosphere inside was excellent quite and silent. You could ask to have coffee or tea, and it was free every day. It was our first time in Amsterdam - excellent city and the Owl left wonderful impressions about everything. If we are in Amsterdam once again, we will stay there definitely.

Very courteous staff. Clean as a whistle. It has a small elevator so you don't have to struggle with steep narrow steps. The location is terrific as it is close to major museums, the trams and Leidesplein which has one restaurant for every citizen of Holland! Front desk was very helpful with directions and ordering transportation. Breakfasts were classic dutch: bread, cereal, OJ, 3 kinds of cold-cuts and three kinds of cheese, as well as apples, banana's, and assorted jams, coffee, and even a chocolate spread.. While not a hot breakfast, a very filling one. Caters to an older crowd, so it is quiet as is the neighborhood. There was nothing not to like.

The hotel is extremely close to Leidseplein, 15-20 minutes walking to the Dam Square and extremely convenient to reach from the airport with bus 197. Also, one can find lots of different restaurants nearby that cater for all tastes. My single room was very cosy, clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was so nice and Disney, the hotel's cat, is one amazing character! The breakfast was very good as well. I would totally recommend this hotel.

We received a friendly and efficient welcome when we checked into the hotel and our rooms were ready for us. These were clean and comfortable and overlooked the garden. There was a good buffet breakfast. The location of the hotel is very convenient especially for the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and Leidesplein for cafes and restaurants but the city centre is also within walking distance and a park. Room did not seem well sound proofed so could be disturbed by noisy neighbour!

The hotel is located on a quite street in Museum area. You can reach the hotel from Airport with bus 197 for 4Euro rather than 40Euro for taxi. Take the bus at airport at bus stop b11 outside airport exit to the right The trip from airport is app 25 minutes. Get off at stop "Leidseplein " and walk toward Mariott Hotel for 3-4 minutes . Walk on the left alley and in 3-4 minutes you will find the Hotel facing Best Western. I booked a single room which was small app 90-100sqft. The bathroom was full size clean and modern. The breakfast had reasonable selection including boiled eggs, 3-4 kinds of bread to toast, juices, fruits ,yogurts, etc . I was happy that they had very good capuccino. The Hotel is located at 10-15 minutes walk from Van Gough and Rijik Museum and 25 minutes walk to Central Station and Red Light District. I had some trouble to figure out how to use the safety box.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good and the price was reasonable. The hotel is in a peaceful side street that is still close enough to night life and tram stops. We would definately stay there again and also recommend the hotel to our friends.
