if you have no problem with stairs this is a excellent city center budget hotel sits half way between dam sq and Ann frank house less than 5 min walk to either . comfy bed , kettle , hot shower & my room had a nice little balcony ;-) friendly helpful owner . will be my 1st choice if ever return to Amsterdam
Close to everything, very tidy, staff were Pleasant, would recommend Hotel Pax!!
nothing bad to say about this hotel .
Was central but not noisy has everything we needed and a good price. Would defo recommend
This is a very basic hotel but well worth the money especially in an expensive city for accomodation like Amsterdam. It's about 15 mins to the central station and less than 10 mins to Dam Square. Toilets and showers are clean. Staff very helpful on all issues. We left our luggages for the day after check out with no extra cost.
The house owner there is very kind and helpful. The location is excellent!
location and prompt response of receptionist during reception hours
Stairs and noises easily heard especially since there were roadworks underway...
We stayed for 4 nights in Amsterdam. Location was great, the staff were brilliant and very helpful! Lovely big balcony, the room was clean and wifi worked perfect everyday! Mini fridge was in the room along with tea and coffee facilities which were restocked everyday along with fresh towels. Our bed was also made for us a couple of mornings. Lovely 1 star hotel and we would recommend it to anyone who would like a central trip to Amsterdam on a budget :)
There are road works outside the hotel at the moment. This didn't bother us as it was a good alarm clock for us to get out of our bed!
The location was fantastic only across the road from the anne frank house and down the road from a supermarket
Beware the stairs
Excellent location, comfortable bedroom with mini fridge. Very good price in Central Amsterdam.
The stairs are crazily steep. I have to climbed 80 stairs to get to my room. Shared bathroom and toilet is quite small.
Nice location, nice staff, quite room, ... And everything was great.
No elevator and narrow steps. Its not something that i didnt like, it was ok as most of the buildings in the center are like this, but i dont recommend this place for older people or the ones with huge luggage. They're gonna have a hard time getting their luggage even to the reception!
comfy, near center.
Good location Good service Kind receptionist
too many stairs!!!
Hotel pax is the best place when you can stay for couple of days, especially if you don't want to bother yourself by traveling by public transport.
The location so close to all main attractions, and the friendly two brothers who run the place, nothing was to much of an effort for them. The bathroom was especially clean.
I was on the top floor, so the staircase made it a big effort, to make it to the room, and as I suffer from back problems, it could have been a real problem, but as the costing of the room was so good, I cannot really complain.
Great location. Friendly staff. No noise.
Staircase is difficult to climb with big luggage.
Great price and perfect location
stairs, not that bad though
location stuff room's balcony
The stairs best bit.location brill. Slept well really
For the cost it was as expected. Suppose the downside no aircon or if there was I could not find it
neat clean big room
Outstanding location and reasonable value for the money.
great clean rooms, simply but worth the price tag
Central location Reasonably clean. (Inside was fine, balcony area not so clean)
Steepness of the stairs and no lift Bed wasn't great. Could stand replacement
Hotel has a perfect location, next to the Dam square and Anna Frank. I was really surprised with fridge, big terrace and coffee. I would recommend it to all of you with strong legs :) as stairs are unbelievable. When I opened the main door for the first time, I closed them automaticaly saying :NO WAY...It is definetely something that you have to survive so maybe it will be good to add it as a note to hotel page or on booking notification. There are some people who are simply not able to get upstairs. Another improvement suggestion is the wifi connection. The problem is that network connection is too slow and once you have more than one person browsing, network will be unavailable.
Stairs and wifi connection
