Hotel Rotterdam  

Nice breakfast, internet free of charges, comfortable bed, spacious room.

Although the breakfast is served until 11 A.M., they stop refilling the plates way before that. On our first morning we arrived at the breakfast room around 10.30 am and since we seemed to be the last guests to have breakfast, we felt hurried by the staff. The receptionists came to have breakfast at the same time and I soon as we left our table they closed the windows and the door behind us, even though it wasn't 11 am yet. The entrance to the hotel has several steps, which makes it difficult for someone carrying heavy suitcases, strollers and impossible to wheelchairs and there is no one there to help you with it. This is an old hotel in need of some refurbishing. The toilet was too low for comfort and the shower curtain too short and let the water out ontto the floor. Also, the wireless internet has an access code that expires every twenty four hours, which means we need to go down to the reception to get a new password every day. We called the reception to ask if they could give us the new password over the phone and the answer we got was no, we had to go down to the reception to get the new printed code. Since the internet is complementary, I don't see the point of having to ask for a new password everyday.

The location is very good, around 10 min walking distance from the station.

The bathroom smelled like gutter, it was impossible to avoid it.

We wanted to be walking distance to the train station and it was convenient. Short walking distance to areas with restaurants, bars and shopping.

It wasn't what I would classify as a 3 star hotel - more a 2 star - but it was adequate. Rooms were sparse but clean and breakfast was very good - lots of choices. We even saw one man fill up his rucksack with enough food to last him several days! I wouls stay there again if only for a short time because of convenience to the train station.

Comfortable cosy room and a reasonable price. 10 mins walking distance from Rotterdam Centraal station and just a hop away from Tram 25. Also liked the concept in Holland hotels of giving us the option of re-using towels rather than having them washed every day; a small touch of going green! Also they did not replace soaps, bath gels, shampoos if there was still left. That was ok with me though. Overall a pleasant experience!

Breakfast can be improved; there were less options; how about the famous Holland pancakes! Also, there are so many varieties of jams available there but I found just 1 or 2 at the breakfast bar. Also, the room needs to be cleaned better; toilets were not that clean. You can also hear people talk in their rooms when you are outside their rooms!!

The rooms are large and clean.

Nothing to complain.

The room was ready before the indicated time, the receptionists were very informative and friendly, the breakfast is normal, the bar provides good service.

The stuff cleaning rooms was not doing well - they didn't change the towels after the first night and they didn't lock the door of our room after the cleaning in the second day. As well when we entered the room first time after it was said that it was ready the safe box was not unlocked to be used. It was raining during our stay and the noise from the street came through the ventilation system.

Room was at the front of the hotel, very noisy outside during the night.

Easy walk from the station. Tram stop over the road. Good breakfast and quiet room. Shower and hair dryer good.

The location was excellent, very central. Staff at reception friendly and helpful.

There was no fridge in the room (that is not a 4* hotel for me) and when we came down for breakfast on Sunday, there were no more bread rolls. We were quite disappointed.

The hotel restaurant is not open during the weekends

Clean comfortable beds, fantastic T.V. a nice room.

Shower seemed to fluctuate from hot to cold.
