There were bugs in the bed. My body was beaten by the bugs. Terrible!
room was a very small maybe a fair price for the room given the fact that it's Amsterdam. For me it was still quite expensive.
The location was fantastic and the single room, though tiny, was very comfortable. I asked for a quiet room and the garden view room was perfect.
I overheard one of the desk staff tell some other guests that the Albert Cuyp market was open on Sunday, which it isn't. I like to be able to count on the staff for accurate tourist info.
My room was right adjacent to the bar - I had to come out one evening (a Monday) at 2amto ask folks to be quiet.
The staff was unfailing. Always helpful and gracious. Thank you for a great stay.
The room was clean and the staff were pleasant.
friendly, great location, lovely breakfast with great selection. Nice premium room.
I would have like tea facilities in the room.
The small room and the horrible matelas
Good start for discovering Amsterdam
No facility to make à coffee on your room
The hotel is quiet, located just off a park and close enough to the old part of town (Red Light District) to be functional. My room was below ground level and didn't have a view. This was my first trip to Amsterdam so I don't have other hotels to compare comfort and cost.
No AC, but wasn't needed in October
staff were very welcoming and helpful! Rooms were small but clean. Beds comfortable.
More toiletries in the bathrooms wouldn't go a miss. other than that, cannot be faulted.
- location (across the Vondelpark, 2min walk from Leidseplein) - Staff (friendly and willing to help)
For €353 euro I expect - more convenience - bigger room - clean batroom without stains on the walls and ceiling - no minibar
friendly staff, location good with lots of trams and busses near
room was veeeery tiny!!
Location excellent, breakfast was good, staff very friendly, wifi with good speed
Room was just too small, hard to move around in (and I was just one person)
no problems experienced
Clean bathroom and good shower. Good location for my chosen event.
Musty smell. Tiny room. Forgot wake up call. No late check out. To change after marathon they wanted 55 euros, no other international hotel as ever charged for a late check out after running a marathon in that city. The bed was against the wall and I could touch the wall with my hand on the other side, plus 1 foot or less from the end of the bed to the window.
Nice public area, but extremely small room
Positive aspects of the hotel are that: beds are comfortable, although starting to "sag" in places; it is very convenient for Museum Square (all within a few minutes walk); the location is in a quiet street and the local area has many good shops and restaurants; the staff are very friendly and helpful; the breakfast buffet is very good value at 9.50 euros, with a great variety of foods to suit all tastes, and scrambled eggs cooked to order, and, basically, an "all you can eat" ethos, which I like because I find that by having a big breakfast I can usually go the rest of the day without eating until dinner. But it is, of course, an additional cost to that of just the room making the overall cost quite high.
I was irritated by several things about this hotel whilst also being impressed by other things. I booked this hotel because it had been booked by my two German friends who were going to Amsterdam for the first time. First of all that, having booked the hotel, they took the charge for the room from my account a week before I arrived (most hotels do not do this and you only pay at the end of your stay). And then when I arrived I also then had to pay the local taxes charge as this had not been included in the original payment. Second that the room was not as clean as I expected a supposedly 3 star hotel to be. I deliberately left some "traps" of small amounts of rubbish in various parts of the room that were not removed during my whole stay. Also, that the overall standard of décor was quite "shabby!, with ceiling paint flaking off in the bathroom, scuff marks on the walls etc, and some very small, yet visible marks on the sheets. I expected much more for the price and that it is supposed to be a 3 star hotel. The photographs of the hotel and its rooms are, I suggest, quite misleading and make it appear better than it is. When my friends arrived a couple of hours after I did, they had been given a room in the basement. Once seen, they immediately requested a different room, as the room seemed to be damp and certainly smelled of damp. Fortunately they were offered another room which was on the third floor two rooms along from mine, which was much better than the first room and the one I had.
Very comfortable bed, tasty breakfast, good location on a quiet street near the park, helpful staff
The room in the building facing the garden was cold
we have a lot of problems with the stuff all the time said to us worng answer about the prize. we want to saty another night and the prise jump to mach high the stuff who work there not nice at all
clean, comfy, wifi, located next to a beautiful park
the guy at the reception was a bit edgy and rude, the girl was really nice and helpful though
- Breakfast is good
- Could not cancelled reserversation after 2hours of booking - room are poorly decorated very basic - our room was close to there thermo pomp very noisy.
Calm with the beaty of simplicity. Nature outside windows, stil central to anything. Trams next dor.
Rooms might be more spacy albeit old original building, modernised in Piet Hein style, set the space available.
Excellent position of a hotel and a good staff.
Very small room although I tuck a tuck premium room, and I’m not of huge expectancies but this one was small.
