staff were very welcoming and helpful! Rooms were small but clean. Beds comfortable.
More toiletries in the bathrooms wouldn't go a miss. other than that, cannot be faulted.
friendly staff, location good with lots of trams and busses near
room was veeeery tiny!!
Location excellent, breakfast was good, staff very friendly, wifi with good speed
Room was just too small, hard to move around in (and I was just one person)
no problems experienced
Nice public area, but extremely small room
Positive aspects of the hotel are that: beds are comfortable, although starting to "sag" in places; it is very convenient for Museum Square (all within a few minutes walk); the location is in a quiet street and the local area has many good shops and restaurants; the staff are very friendly and helpful; the breakfast buffet is very good value at 9.50 euros, with a great variety of foods to suit all tastes, and scrambled eggs cooked to order, and, basically, an "all you can eat" ethos, which I like because I find that by having a big breakfast I can usually go the rest of the day without eating until dinner. But it is, of course, an additional cost to that of just the room making the overall cost quite high.
I was irritated by several things about this hotel whilst also being impressed by other things. I booked this hotel because it had been booked by my two German friends who were going to Amsterdam for the first time. First of all that, having booked the hotel, they took the charge for the room from my account a week before I arrived (most hotels do not do this and you only pay at the end of your stay). And then when I arrived I also then had to pay the local taxes charge as this had not been included in the original payment. Second that the room was not as clean as I expected a supposedly 3 star hotel to be. I deliberately left some "traps" of small amounts of rubbish in various parts of the room that were not removed during my whole stay. Also, that the overall standard of décor was quite "shabby!, with ceiling paint flaking off in the bathroom, scuff marks on the walls etc, and some very small, yet visible marks on the sheets. I expected much more for the price and that it is supposed to be a 3 star hotel. The photographs of the hotel and its rooms are, I suggest, quite misleading and make it appear better than it is. When my friends arrived a couple of hours after I did, they had been given a room in the basement. Once seen, they immediately requested a different room, as the room seemed to be damp and certainly smelled of damp. Fortunately they were offered another room which was on the third floor two rooms along from mine, which was much better than the first room and the one I had.
Very comfortable bed, tasty breakfast, good location on a quiet street near the park, helpful staff
The room in the building facing the garden was cold
we have a lot of problems with the stuff all the time said to us worng answer about the prize. we want to saty another night and the prise jump to mach high the stuff who work there not nice at all
clean, comfy, wifi, located next to a beautiful park
the guy at the reception was a bit edgy and rude, the girl was really nice and helpful though
- Breakfast is good
- Could not cancelled reserversation after 2hours of booking - room are poorly decorated very basic - our room was close to there thermo pomp very noisy.
Calm with the beaty of simplicity. Nature outside windows, stil central to anything. Trams next dor.
Rooms might be more spacy albeit old original building, modernised in Piet Hein style, set the space available.
Excellent position of a hotel and a good staff.
Very small room although I tuck a tuck premium room, and I’m not of huge expectancies but this one was small.
we found the hotel comfortable and the location was wonderful. Near the Vondelpark... The breakfast was value for the money. I recommand this hotel at all my friends and family.
In the bathroom was no ventilation and it was a litle bit dark, just one light, spot more please in the bathroom.
Everything was great but staff were rude and abrupt. Asked usual tourist questions and met with sarcasm rather than helpful info
Very friendly and helpfull staf. Nice room with park view, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Breakfast was good. No private parking but i was lucky to find a spot in front of the hotel every day. Vondelpark across the road. City center on walking distance. Museums and PC Hooftstreet arround the corner. Really good stay!
No large selection of fresh fruit at breakfast. Noise insulation from other rooms could be improved a little. Pay attention: big parking fine as i apperrantly missed sometime and no parkingpolice informed me....
Hotel was a boutique style effect Clean, tidy, modern and well furnished Wifi always had good signal Lady with thick curly Afro hair - welcoming on arrival and helpful
Breakfast was a little poor - toast instead of thick bread It was my boyfriends birthday - next time I may pay a little more for an arrival present instead of a note
Location near centre town and museum area.
Since I didn't have a booking which included breakfast I was asked to go back to reception to get me a breakfast voucher. At that time I was already allowed access and had started making coffee and toast. Apparently putting it on my room account was not possible. When returning in the afternoon for my luggage in storage the lady at the frontdesk thought to be funny and asked if I could prove that was the case?!
pretty much everything
Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Small but quiet room.
Air conditioning in the room either on=cold and windy, or off=stuffy and damp air.
Location for Museum Area Décor and cleanliness Friendly and efficient staff A very pleasant room with bay window and balcony overlooking the park.
No criticism, all very good.
Very good breakfast, the staff was very nice and helpful. Good location.
My room was very small, there was no chair to sit on, no desk.
Location, bed was super comfortable, though we did request a double and had two twins put together that kept slipping apart.
Bathroom was tiny with no vent, and lots of water damage. Even in the room ceiling was damaged due to no ventilation. Also the window would not open it was locked.
Location to Rijksmuseum and tram to airport and city core.
