Location is good for Van Gogh, rijksmuseum, Vondelpark, etc. The room i stayed in was a finished attic so the ground space was good, but the walls on one side are at a 45 degree angle so the ground space and living space (adequate) are not the same. The 3 flights up the super steep and narrow stairs are a pain to get up at the end of a night of partying; although, i managed not to fall. Breakfest was good, but could be improved if standard-issue black tea (PG Tips or Red Label) were on the menu. Better than your average continental breakfest: toast, ham, turkey, cheese, cereal, milk, oj, coffee and herbal tea. Bed was comfortable, compared to many other budget places I have stayed at. Staff, the young Caucasian woman and man was very friendly. One member of the staff, I am guessing the same blackman everyone has had trouble with had an attitude when I asked for a towel. Bathroom facilities were new, clean and top notch. Only thing was a few of the toilets were in amazingly tiny rooms, with just barely enough space to open the door. Maintenance was good: when i got there there was a light out in the hallway, it was replaced within 24 hours. Overall, I was pleased with this hotel as a good value/budget I stayed there for 4 nights and my towel was never changed, I had to ask for a new one each day. As I mentioned before, one of the staff members gave me an attitude when I asked for a towel. He acted as if I was being an inconvenience by me asking him for a clean towel. After asking he rolled his eyes and fetched the towel. When he returned, he handed me the towel and said simply, "towel." The room was non-smoking but it did smell of stale cigarette smoke. Location is not ideal if you are interested in the central station area or northeast Amsterdam. Central station is about a 35min/1.7 mile walk from the hotel. Note, a tram station is located right near the hotel though.

The hotel staff was very friendly and in a great location to one of the main squares of Amsterdam. They were able to answer all questions I had about Amsterdam and even looked up information for me. I believe that the price I paid for a single room was very steep. I knew that I would have to pay more for a single room but it was still not worth the money. The hotel was more like a hostel than a hotel. I had to share a toilet and shower with a few other rooms on the floor.

I would say it is more of a hostel rather than a hotel, maybe because we booked two beds in a dorm of four. We were happy with the room as it was clean, and the common bathroom and toilet were also clean. The bed sheets were changed during our two nights stay at the hostel. The receptionists and the staffs also spoke good English. The breakfast was also included and we were pretty happy with the breakfast. The location was also very near to Leidse square and to get to the city centre is also easy because there is a tram station which is very very very near to the hotel and you can get a direct tram to Amsterdam central. The area also had never made me felt unsafe during our stay there and the hotel was easy to find. The room was also warm during winter. There was also no curfew, which was a bonus for us who preferred to explore Amsterdam at night =) If you are someone who can't cope with the noise of the tram, then the hotel isn't for you. But the sound of the tram didn't bother us at all as we still managed to get a good sleep.

The bed was awesome. The shared facilities were clean no matter what time of day I used them. They did have a problem with the electricity at one point, but got someone out right away to fix it. The towels were pretty small which I expected. So if you are particular about your towels I would suggest bringing your own. Overall it was a really nice hotel. I wish the hotel staff had been a little more helpful. Often I felt like I was bothering them when I asked a question.

The location The reasonable price Room was very basic, small and uncomfortable. Its a bedroom for the night, no other pleasantries Noted that I had the dreaded top floor small room Hotel was dark, dingy, unwelcoming, creaky floors, challenging staircase, hidden toilet facilities, staff were not the friendliest.. Value for money..not really Conditions in a nearby hostel better and cheaper Certainly wouldn't recommend to a friend and definitely wouldn't stay there again. Better offers out there...

Free wi-fi Few of the staff are very rude, especially one who with tanned skin. Room is very average, sharing bathroom and toilet, not worth for 70 ERUO a night. Cleansing staff poured some cleaning powder on the floor in the room and didn't clean it afterward. Would not recommend at all.

The best is its location: almost in the very centre. Couple of steps from tram stops and a food store. Decent breakfast included in the price. The policy of charging non-refundable full amount at the time of making reservation (and calling it reservation fee) is its biggest crime. Narrow staircase with steep stairs exhausting for dragging one's suitcase. Bad mattress. Of the four sockets, one working and one with loose holes that works in principle but not always in practice. Dank smell.

The hotel/hostel is smack in town, with the possibility of going anywhere. There is internet, breakfast is pretty good. One person in the staff is particularly rude , it is a dark gentleman who doesn't seem to value customers and has a lot to learn in manners and customer service. The rest of the staff are extraordinarily kind and make up for his bad behaviour

I didn't like it atall. Nothing that I really liked to be honest. The receptionists were unfriendly (the weekend man receptionist was the rudest receptionist I ever came across in my life). I would never stay there again and will never recommend it to anyone. The private shower was disgusting. I had ti have a shower in flip-flops as it looked disgustingly dirty and old.

I felt very uncomfortable here. This is the worst hostel that I have ever stayed. The windows can not open, so the smell is very awful. And it's on the street, so very noisy. Thereo is only one bathroom and restroom in a floor. It is not worthy to stay.

Location is nice, rooms are clean, and stuff is quite friendly. They start to serve breakfast only at 8.00, which is a bit late. Also, there was only one small towel provided, and it obviously wasn't enough for a shower.

Excellent value for money for basic accommodation with good breakfast included in the price. Suggestion to improve the directions given to reach the Hotel Prince by tram. The tram stop name as displayed on the tram internal announciation board is :- 1e Con. Huygensstraat. Hence suggest that this tram stop name on the 'Overtoom' be included in the Public transport directions.
