Prinsenhuis  

An ideal location. Very short distance from the excellent tram network. Also, as this was self catering, it was brilliant to have 2 supermarkets just around the corner (200m). One was part of a large supermarket chain while the other was an independent organic produce shop. The room we had (Coral Room) was at the top of the building (very steep stairs) overlooking the canal and the beautiful 17th century merchants' houses on the other side of the water.

Comfort, location.

Poor organization of check-in and check-out. We saw nobody from the hotel staff. Finally the owner had taken money from the credit card without any prior notice and permission of the card holder. Moreover the amount was greater than the sum confirmed by the Booking.com reservation confirmation.

We were travelling as couple with one older parent and wanted somewhere more homely than a hotel room- and this is exactly what we got! For this trip it suited us to have somewhere we could return to throughout the day when our legs ached from too much cycling! The huge windows offer a view over the city/canal which was wonderful especially for my mum who had never visited the city before. The location is perfect everything is within 5 minutes grasp on a bicycle and we found Edwin to be a charming and helpful host.

The space. It felt like you were at home in your own apartment. Not needing to chase out every morning due to clostrofobia. You can get up kate, buy fresh bread from the broodhuis round the corner. Chill with coffee on the couch etc.

We had a wonderful time. It was hard to make ourselves leave the apt. It was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We will definitely stay there again!!!

We stayed in the ground floor apartment and it was great, fully equipped, clean and comfortable. We didn't make much use of the kitchen other than for tea and coffee but it is fully functioning with a full size fridge so it would be quite possible to cook a meal here. There is a supermarket just round the corner. The apartment is located right on the canal, in a quiet part of the city but within easy walking distance of all the attractions Amsterdam has to offer.

Nicely appointed room, friendly staff - I'd stay here again.

I had a very enjoyable stay in such a pleasant part of such a fine city.

Grat canalside location , handy supermarket around the corner. Very comfortable bed , good shower/toilet , all facilities fine. Nice views too !

Complicated tv controls , dvd player not working . Management agreeable enough but maybe a little too laid - back ( needed cajoling into action to replace batteries in non - functioning remote - control for tv ). Above points minor issues : Prinsenhuis generally excellent - if somewhat overpriced - and I enjoyed my stay .

Location and arrival greeting

Shower head floods bathroom floor and bathroom door wouldn't close. Nothing else!

Nothing at all. It was most expensive during our travel through Europe and discustingly dirty. It has shocking bathroom with ingraved drips of urine around the toilet. Wash basin was another shocker!!!! Dirty, dirty, dirty... There were spider webs in the kitchen... There was old dirt between timber floor boards.... I will never ever go to Amsterdam again!!!!

Warning: Dirty, over-priced place. The old dirt in the bathroom overites any positive aspects of this apartment. Note to the owner: wake up, it is not just Holland it is European Union! For 170 euro per night I expect the place to be clean.

Excellent mattress! Balcony not very enticing but lovely view from the sitting room over the canal. It would have been nice to have two chairs there rather than one so that we could sit and admire the canal together.

The apartment is so close to the center, so close to tram stop, so close actually to everything. There is no noise from the street or the apartment above. It is big enouph for two people also. The area is wonderful and the manager did not bother us during our stay.

I would prefer the woman who cleans the apartment to come more often.
