The staff were friendly and the location was fantastic. Any problems we had were dealt with promptly and professionally. We booked the 'romantic canal view double' and got two twin beds... What part of "double" means two beds?? We did just push them together and the staff gave us a double duvet but still, this should not have been the case. Really disappointing. |

Clean and basic hotel with friendly helpful staff. Hotel central to all attractions and shops. Presentation of food at the buffet breakfast was not appealing and also very sparse. Toaster was set on a timer to switch off at 10.30 am. Tea and coffee facilities in your room was subject to a €2 charge. |

Stayed in a double room. Great location, close to the central station and the major streets. But too expensive for its tired rooms. Breakfast was decent and in general the hotel is trying to save money at every corner. Cleaning staff did a good job though. Shower was not working well - water temperature was fluctuating. Another problem were the extraordinarily warm rooms, but luckily it was cold out and windows could be opened for cool air. |

Located in the best spot in Amsterdam (to my opinion) 2 minutes walk from the dam square, near the 9 streets. |

The hotel is situated close to the center (dam Square) but still it's quite quiet in the room and outside the hotel, staff are helpful. The rooms are more like a run down 2 star hotel, parts falling off the walls in the room and the bathroom. Room was quite cold and heating wasn't available i.e. you could barely fell that the radiator is warmer than the wall. The price is too high for such a run down hotel. |

The location was excellent and it is near Dam Sq. but peaceful. The rooms were comfortable but very warm. The staff helpful It would be good to have tea and coffee in room or at the very least for the bar to serve drinks/tea/coffee after 9.30pm at night. I found myself having to go out at 10.30pm to find a cup of coffee |

Very friendly reception, excelent large room, good shower. The location is perfect for sightseeing, in a romantic canal street. I have saved the number for a future stay. |

Hotel was close to downtown, about a 10 minute walk. Room cleaner opened room door about 1 second after he knocked, not giving me enough time to respond to tell him not to come in. I hadn't locked the door properly to stop him from entering. When I stopped him and shoved it closed, he stood out the door and loudly laughed to another staff member about what just happened, and that he had seen me in my underwear. Very unprofessional. |

Location was within city center. The Manager was incredibly rude. He forced us to pay for breakfast that we were told upon check-in was included. When we explained that we should not be charged for their mistake, he threatened to lock us in and call the police! Very unprofessional. In the end, he charged my credit against my permission and with no signature. |

Location. The room we eventually got had wonderfull views and character. Our booking through this site for canal view wasnt honoured when we arrived and we had to complain. They didnt have any rooms available on the night. They moved us the following day to the room we had booked. |

Central Position, Tranquillity, Staying in Amsterdam's typical building. Bed not comfortable, room very tight, lack of furniture; 50 euro deposit asked during check-in for don't know what; really expensive for the service and the comfort you get; staff not caring and not very nice |

Upon check in, around 5 pm I want to get a drink of water from the bar. It was not open and someone had to be found. Room has no air conditioning which I did not know or I would not have booked there. Room service was horrible. Called down and asked for two drinks, a water and white wine. Water came up along with a bottle of red wine. Called again and had staff repeat the request. Red wine was taken and a glass of port was delivered instead. Checked out immediately after. Got chareged for the whole stay and no appologies about the horrible service. Not real happy about being charged for the whole stay when I was only there for one and a part of an evening. Hotel must be desperate for money with this kind of policy. |

The Hotel is in a good location. The rooms are of a good size for Amsterdam. I stayed in this hotel before about 3 years ago. They threw me out of my room after the first day. Their unbelieveable excuse was that I should have told them I was staying for 2 nights! I made the reservation with the hotel / spoke directly to the staff, and they debited my credit card for 2 days at check-in! What more could I have possibly told them? My personal belongings were placed in a plastic bag and left at the reception. For me to discover. No apologies, no effort made on the room payment, nothing! The notion of full payment for less than full customer service is well established in this hotel. |

The central location, 5 mins walk from Dam Square. The position of the hotel in a quiet street, overlooking the canal. The rooms were very hot, the windows were not easy to open. |

clean, comfortable rooms no tea-kaking facility in room . Breakfast could be improved: 'muesili' a penance not a food and the scrambled eggs were pretty dreadful. |
