Location, Staff, Value for money.
Room size, too small rooms
The location is perfect.
Going next door into a pub/club with flashiong disco lights at 9.000am on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Climbing the 5 flights of very tight stairs with cases to get to our room.
great location and very friendly staff.. recommended for people who want to be in the midst of all the action!
late night noise from the party crowd at the square..
Great value for money, near the main square. Clean room and hospitable staff
Good value Excellent staff
Room Own Bathroom Staff Location Facilities
There is a night club next door so can be noisy but we stayed out and partied till the night club shut so there was no problem. We also have our own bathroom Room 15
It´s located in front of a tran station and near a subway station. The wifi, team reception and shower are greats.
The room is too small for a group of 3 persons.
The location of this hotel is excellent, just in the heart of a city, easy to reach to some city sightseeing even by walk. It's also fair price for your pocket while city of Amsterdam is quite costly, you dont have to spend a fortune)) that is why if you are looking for great location at a good price with a comfort stay this hotel offer is perfect for you. And yes, friendly and helpful hotel staff.
Maybe to be more objective I would say a shared bathroom sometimes is annoying, but again, it depends on what you are looking for and your budget for the trip.
The clubs keep partying late
We have been in this hotel 3 times, we have just good experiences with it. It is clean, neat and cosy. Wifi - free and generally fast. Stuff at the front desk very friendly and helpful. Big thanks also to maid and charming sir, who takes care about breakfasts, we really like him :) Location is the best you can get! - This square is awake 24/7. We love Netherlands! :-) See you next year!
This year I did not like hair in bathroom, but not a big deal...
- best breakfast for lowprice hotel - good location
- everyday problem with WiFi - lot of stairs
Amazing location, 10-15 minutes of walking can get you to Dam Square, De Wallen or Rijksmuseum. I actually enjoyed steep stairs, even though I stayed on the last (5th) floor. Shared bathrooms turned out not to be a problem at all (we had two for three rooms).
The rooms (and bathrooms) are a bit dated. Wi-Fi worked only 25% of the time and was slow, the staff couldn't do anything about it. The room was stuffy and to make matters worse the window couldn't be opened. There was noise from the street but it didn't bother me too much.
Location was easy to find and great for bars and restaurants.
Noisy. Narrow single bed. Shared shower and loo.
View from window at night.
Impossible to sleep without earplugs. This is right on Rembrandt Square, which is basically a party place full of clubs and it is unbearably loud until 4 am and at 6 the cleanup crews start making noise.
Location, value for money, staff
Very noisy due to club below
Location was lively.
One socket in room and it was on ceiling. The square was quite noisy through the night.
Excellent location Clean rooms
Noisy street Small rooms
We loved this hotel, The staff were always so friendly, Smiling, Attentive and Happy to help with any enquiries, We stayed in a lovely clean room overlooking Rembrandtsplein for 6 nights and found this to be a wonderful place, It's not too expensive and right in the heart of all the action (above a coffee shop with 2 nightclubs just to the side) We never found it a problem with sleeping as we are used to a little noise but some may not enjoy it if say your a light sleeper or like silence for sleep, That said though you are overlooking one of the busiest squares in Amsterdam so the noise is only to be expected really, The entertainment watching the people using the clubs and coffeshop was fantastic we hardly used the T.V. with all the action outside :) a Lovely Hotel with Lovely staff and will definately be staying here again, hopefully very soon.would also recommend to friends and already have :) The shared bathrooms were no problem either I was slightly apprehensive as never stayed in shared facilities before but they were always available and spotlessly clean. We had a Fantastic time here, Thanks Bob and Co.
There isn't any negative that I can point out really apart from the mentioned noise but you are on a bustling square in Amsterdam so it's only to be expected that it's a little noisy, And the stairs are a slight challenge, quite steep but that too is only to be expected given the historic building your staying in ( we left a lot fitter than we arrived after 6 nights of climbing 3 floors lol)
The location is perfect. There was one young staff member that was very friendly and helpful, but I can not remember his name. The rooms weren't too badly sized considering I had heard how small accommodation is in Amsterdam. Overall I was pleased!
I disliked sharing a bathroom but the bathroom was only shared with one other room, so it wasn't too bad and we knew at the time of booking that this was the case. therefor it was no fault of the hotels. Also the stairs.
The location was great being in the heart of the square and easily accessible.
During our stay, the Internet service was appalling and rarely worked, the toilets directly accessible to pur room were also out of service, no escalator with 5 sets of very steep step make for a very uncomfortable walk up. The breakfast options were very limited also.
- Excellent location - The must see attractions are within walking distance - Affordable price - Decent breakfast
- Wi-Fi didn't work becasue of system problem
Great location, friendly and knowledgable staff
slightly loud but really not too much of an issue
The location was perfect for what we wanted to do on our holiday. There's plenty of places to eat in the area, the night life was brilliant. There are also bike taxis in the square which are 5 euros as well as trams making it very easy to get to other places. Staff were very friendly and dealt with any requests we had quickly and promptly. Despite the fact you have to share a shower with people on your floor both showers were always very clean. Overall I think this is a very nice place to stay and if I was to stay in the area again I'd definitely stay at this hotel.
Like a lot of buildings in Amsterdam the stairs are very steep. I personally didn't have a problem with it but some people might. Also the mattresses were abit hard and weren't that comfy. It can be noisy at night depending on if your room is at the front or the back of the hotel. But again I had no problem with this, I could still sleep perfectly fine but we were usually out at night anyway.
