Location Room service Comfortable bed and amazing pillows Cleanliness
Shower A bit too expensive, but the service provided is very good
Location, very comfortable bed
There was no bathrobe and slippers in the room.
Overall very good.
The policy that u don't have Internet access untill u upgrade to a club member. Or pay daily for Internet which is expensive !. Shouldn't be the case in such a big hotel
The location was good. It is a short walk down from the train-station. We enjoyed the extremely friendly service the hotel provided. Everyone who we meet working at the hotel was very friendly and made our stay very relaxing, despite having a toddler and a 3 1/2 with us. The club lounge was very relaxing and a large bonus.
Amterdam being Amsterdam, might not be the best place for small kids.
The location of the hotel was great and so were most of the staff we dealt with. Although for the price we paid we feel the rooms were not all that good and modern.
For the price we have paid I feel we could have gotten more quality and at least free wifi. We had a broken window that wouldn't stay open. And the shower head was not screwed in properly making it annoying to take showers...
Wifi €19.00 a night and every thing else very expensive
Comfort of the room, staff excellent attitude, great breakfast large buffet options.
Room no 916 was by the street and noise came a lot during night time.
Location super nahe am Bahnhof Centraal und City center.
Klimaanlage etwas laut, aber OK
Very low level of cleaning
The staff was very polite and helpful, room cleaned very well every day, great location
Too little vegetable choices at breakfast. The minibar system complicated - if you remove an item for more than 30 seconds you are charged even if you only took it out to use the minbar for storage. This information is not available in a prominent place.
Location Staff Tickets to museums, trams and day trips can be bought at the reception Free city map and navigator to plan your trip
- rooms were smaller, but I believe thats the case with every hotel in Amsterdam
I have to say the location is good by considering the cost, it is very close to Dam street, popular places and most of local transportation. Especially for those will take a day to travel outside of Amsterdam, since it is very close to Centraal station, you will get to it very quick for 5 mins walking. The in-room express check-out is also very good.
The front desk service is the worst I experienced so far. I checked in @ 3pm and told us the king size bed room was still cleaning. So I accepted to have a queen-size bed but also been told to it is under room inspection. So we waited at least 30 mins in the lobby and then found out Room 957 is really really far away!!! Plus it is close to a pub so there was lots of noise until 2am. This also happened to another guests, at next day front desk gave the same excuse, made a pregnant lady wait in lobby and sent her to the same far away room area after all. That was 6 pm !!! Hotel still could not make a booked room available for guests. I believe this is happened to all Booking.com customers. I call this is very unprofessional and cheating!!!
I did like the very helpful and polite staff.
Taxi could not come to the front door because there were some sort of work in progress.
Had to pay for tv ''had pay a deposit -shower burnt me when turning of
The Hotel is easy to find from the Station, everything is within walking distance (everything a weekend tourist wants to see) and Amsterdam is so beautiful the further the walk the more enjoyable. Hotel is modern, clean and what's expected for the money.
Had no milk in my room for a morning cuppa ! But was resolved upon request. Yes it's 5 star, yes it's a great location, yes the club lounge is fantastic, but possibly still a tad expensive.....
Good Localization, near the central station
- Saw a grey mouse/rat at the hotel lobby bar which is situated next to the restaurant ground floor. - Service Recovery of this incident is very poor as it seems to appear acceptable that the mouse/rat in the hotel due to renovations outside the hotel. - Ruin my entire stay!
It’s a travel of 35 years backwards. I’m one meter ninety tall, guest floor ceilings can hardly reach 2 meter, I felt continuously to avoid smoke detectors, etc. The room was about 400 Euro’s which for this kind of room is steep because the room reminded me to a small hotel in the Chinese country side. Then they still ask 20 Euro for the internet and not 7.95 as suggested at the reservation of booking.com. Last but not least I booked a clubroom but when I wanted my breakfast in the restaurant instead of the lounge I had to pay again……. Anyway far from the international hospitality standards, should be *** max.
it was central
it was very noisey through the night
The main reason for choosing this hotel was that the conference that I was attending to was taking place at this hotel. + (relatively) good location for visiting the old city centre + good breakfast
- You are charged an extra 75 EUR/night as guarantee (although you give them your debit/credit card, as in any other hotel). - At checkout, if they have to refund you the said guarantee (or part of it), they will refund it as CASH. No, they cannot unblock/return it on the card used. - Avoid the rooms numbered x33 (i.e. 533, in my case), as they are next to a cleaning staff room and they do make noise every morning. - They do not replace the toiletries unless they are almost empty.
Staff are not trained in hospitality.
The bed was very good. Location was very good. The club room was excellent.
Maids left only one small soap for vanity and bath for a 3 day stay.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff are very helpful, and the location is fantastic. The buffet breakfast is by far one of the best we have had in our travels throughout Europe!!
We stayed twice at the Renaissance in August and both times there were billings on our statement that should not have been there. Need to double check upon check out.
Club level amenities
They need new mattresses on beds.
Smell in hallway
