Hotel & Restaurant De Fortuna  

Beautiful hotel, extremely quiet and with a sunny canal-side garden in the centre of old town. Friendly staff (the hotel is family-owned) and great restaurant.

A lovely hotel 200m from the town centre. Only about 600 m from the bus stop. There is a feeling of warmness here with no big hotel coldness. The restaurant serves delicious food. The room was immaculately clean and very cosy and big enough. There is a lovely garden on the canal where one can sit and have refreshments. The family staff are very caring and attentive. The area is quiet. The surrounding area is small enough that this hotel can serve as a base to explore. I would stay here again.

There was nothing I did not like.

Our husbands were born in Nord Burgum and we were on a family visit to see the land of their birth. They had not been back since the family emigrated in 1950. Our visit at DeFortuna was wonderful. The staff so friendly, the rooms were clean and bright and reflected a "time" of years gone by. The bathrooms were very modern and clean with shower and large tubs. The evening meals were beautifully presented and delicious and a very nice breakfast buffet was served every morning. The canal homes were located alongside the canals with a hand-cranked lift -bridge to allow the boats passage. Hotel De Fortuna was located in a residential area with canal homes all around it. It was truly a terrific place to end our holiday.

Everything is wonderfull, both inside and outside are lovely.

Excelent restaurant, wonderful view from the windows of the room, very nice bathroom, very good breakfast, nice people working there!!

Historic town and hotel. Very well maintained. In the heart of the town next to canal.

Location. Close enough to visit Amsterdam, at the same time far enough away to relax from his vanity. Friendly staff ready to help in all matters.

Price. Quite high if not pay attention to the proximity of Amsterdam.

The location of this very nice and old hotel in Edam is perfect.

The prices for dinner in the resturant is expencive. The beds are too soft.

Unique hotel comprising several old Dutch houses. Location in Edam.

Difficult parking.

Wunderschöne Lage, liebevoll eingerichtet Zimmer und Wunder schöner Garten, Ideal auch als Ausgangspunkt für Amsterdam, 20 km x 2 für 10 €

Zimmer etwas klein, Waschbecken war nicht im Badezimmer sondern im Wohnbereich

Accessibilité à la chambre par un escalier très raide extérieur, chambre très étroite et salle de bain très étroite, douche pas aisée d'accès, le rapport qualité prix n'était pas là impossible réellement d'ouvrir nos petites valises, et d'espacer les deux litsjumeaux que de 20 centimètres...
