Rho is situated on the edge of Dam Square, half a mile from Amsterdam Central Train station. It offers free Wi-Fi and the lobby is an impressive Art Deco-style former theater. All of the comfortably furnished rooms at Rho Hotel include satellite TV and a refrigerator. They also each have a private bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room which overlooks Dam Square. It includes a selection of bread, cereals and a few warm dishes including scrambled eggs. There is a small bar and vending machines in the lobby for snacks and drinks such as coffee. Hotel Rho is 525 ft from the Kalverstraat shopping area and from the Dam Square tram stop. The location, fantastic, off Dam square. The very friendly and helpful staff, particularly Bianca, at the reception. Sumptuous breakfast. The shower was a bit dodgy, but manageable. Had to keep the window open to let in cool air, as there was no airconditioning, which might be a problem in hot weather.

Hotel reception and cleaning staff very friendly They debited my account a deposit of Euro 150. The understanding was that no deposit or debiting of my account was requried. Today I checked with American Express, and the hotel still has not take action to reverse the charge and credit back my account with American Express. This is not a nice practice. If they require deposit, that is acdeptable, but that was never mentioned when I processed with booking.com
