Rho is situated on the edge of Dam Square, half a mile from Amsterdam Central Train station. It offers free Wi-Fi and the lobby is an impressive Art Deco-style former theater. All of the comfortably furnished rooms at Rho Hotel include satellite TV and a refrigerator. They also each have a private bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room which overlooks Dam Square. It includes a selection of bread, cereals and a few warm dishes including scrambled eggs. There is a small bar and vending machines in the lobby for snacks and drinks such as coffee. Hotel Rho is 525 ft from the Kalverstraat shopping area and from the Dam Square tram stop. The Anne Frank House and Rembrandt House Museum are both within a 10-minute walk of the hotel. Hotel Rooms: 167

Very central location on the edge of Dam Square with friendly staff Stayed in a very tired attic room that would not suit anyone tall as we had sloping beams throughout giving restricted head height. The shower was over a slippy bath with a broken shower rail which came apart when you moved the curtain. All in all having taken approx 2 city breaks a year for the last 6 years this was definitely the worst room we have stayed in and would not use this hotel again as Amsterdam is such a walkable city I would advise anyone to move slightly further out to get better quality and value as the price of this hotel reflects its location rather than its standard of accommodation .

The Staff went out of their way to be helpful. They always greeted us with a smile and many times by name. They helped us confirm tour reservations by phone. When we had questions concerning how to get to destinations on our agenda they patiently explained how to get there and even marked the route out on a map for us. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere there. The lobby is beautiful and inviting after a long day of sightseeing. Since we were staying for a longer time, we stayed in a larger room with windows on two sides. We enjoyed the natural light and the large windows. The location was great. We were just 1/2 a block from dam square, close to trolley stops and about a ten minute walk from central station. Public transportation connections couldn't have been better. It could be a little noisy late at night, after the bars closed down, when people walked down the street to their connections on dam square. We soon got used to that.

Although the rooms were small for what we paid, the breakfast made up for it. We had a lovely varied breakfast in a very pleasant room. The rooms were cleaned daily and the bathroom was big enough for two but the bed was too small for two adults and there was'nt enough room to move around freely, we kept having to dodge each other. The staff were very professional and very helpful with lots of good advice and information about the city. We had a lovely time and the Rho is so central for most of the attractions.

Location is excellent. It's just 10 minutes walk to the train station. Shop and restaurant are nearby. Very close to the flower market. Only the hotel rate is a bit high. however, i will recommend this hotel to everyone. The price is a bit higher.

The Hotel Rho could not be more central in Amsterdam. One of our worries about hotels are if they are clean, If anyone has the same problem they will have no worries with this hotel it is spotless. The staff is so helpful nothing is a problem with them. I enjoyed the breakfast. I would certainly return and advise my friends to visit Thank you all.

Location only. Very poor value for money. The only asset is location, very close to Red District, Dam square and shopping center if that is your interest in the city. Room is big comparing to other hotels in Amsterdam, however it is not sufficiently heated, and there are no other means to do it, therefore it was very very cold even in mid November. Bathroom is from the 80's at least and smells. Room was cleaned but not clean, the carpet was dirty grey. I would give it 2 stars maximum with indulgence. Breakfast was OK. It has an elevator and wifi. Only suitable if you really want to stay in the center and there isn't any other rooms available. I would suggest some improvements to justify those big prices.

The location was fantastic. Right in the heart of the city. Breakfast was wonderful! The staff was helpful. Having unlimited internet access is a plus when trying to balance business and pleasure. The accomodations were not as "comfortable" as pictured or described. The carpeting is industrial, the bedding very basic, the furnishings minimal and the floors in the halls and rooms are ramped in very peculiar and unidentified ways. Overall a basic and convenient hotel, but not for a special occasion.

The Rho Hotel is right in the centre of Amsterdam and within easy walking distance of many attractions and some excellent shops. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a reasonable size and kept well serviced by housekeeping. The continental breakfast is excellent and the staff keep everything running smoothly. When any of the foods on offer starts to run short it is replenished and tables are cleared and reset as soon as the previous customer has left. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the coffee machine in the reception area was out of order. The room could have done with drawers and/or shelves for storing clothes. We had to live out of our suitcases.

The location was excellent - right on Dam Square, and only minutes walk to most of the attractions of Amsterdam, and a short cab ride to Centraal Station. There was also a tram stop located very close by which allowed easy transport to attractions a bit further away. Also, the room was quite spacious and the bed was comfortable. The decor in the room was quite outdated, and we had some mould growing in our shower.

Location, staff very helpful. The first room had tiny beds - we had asked for a double bed, and it was smaller than 2 separate beds. We then asked for a different room and it was far superior.

Rooms were big and comfortable and clean. Due to it's close location to dam square it was very noisy. The building is old so windows are thin so you can hear every little noise outside. It has got to be the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Not really a fault of the hotel but they should let people know.

The location was fantastic, right beside Dam Square. It was clean and very quiet. But I think full marks has to to the reception staff, absolutely brilliant, very helpfull, polite, and very funny..... Especially the blonde guy. I'm defiantly going back to the Rho in April! Nothing at all...... Very happy!

The location was excellent and easy to find. The rooms were comfortable and reasonably priced. Breakfast was in a comfortable dining room. The food was simple but good and there was plenty of it. We are a family of 4 with adult children. We booked 2 rooms, a double and a twin. The rooms were on the same floor but some distance apart. It's a minor complaint but you asked what I didn't like.

Free WiFi, Free breakfast, close to trams, close to train station, not far from museums, comfortable place. I hate big chain hotels and try to stay in cost effective, low key places that are still comfortable. The Rho fit that very well. Tiny package of shampoo. Be sure to bring your own.

Very centrally located, good range of breakfast and helpful staff. One does not need public transportation as most attractions are within walking distance. No tea & coffee making facility. Hotel should provide more adapters for non=EU guests

The Rho Hotel is just off Dam Square in Amsterdam, and it is within an easy walk to the trains and many attractions. But is on the edge of the The room was clean and relatively modern. There were many outlets, and a large safe (free to use) that could hold my computer case and computer easily. There was also a refrigerator, and television. The hotel had a lift to go between floors, and the lift was large enough to accommodate several people and bags. The breakfast, held in a side room with an oriental theme, was fairly good with eggs, bacon and fruits in addition to sliced meats and cheese. The hotel has a business centre open all the time, with 2 computers and a printer, so it was possible to print my boarding passes. The staff were helpful with suggestions on good places to eat in the area. The room (a single) was very small and tucked in the eaves of the top floor. My main complaint is that the hotel location is great, but it is very noisy, even from the 4th floor. It was hot in Amsterdam when I visited, and I had to have my only window, a skylight, open to allow any cooling. Sirens, heated arguments in the street, and kitchen/crowd/patron noise from bars below went on most of the night. Between the heat and the noise, I slept little. Maybe it would be better when the weather was less favorable to late night carousing. The bath was unusual in that it all was tiled and the shower was right next to the toilet, and with a sloping ceiling so it was impossible to be far enough to avoid having water from the shower get everything wet. Sort of like being on a sailboat, I guess, but it meant that bathroom activities had to be planned. I heard from another that his room (in another hotel) had this feature, too, so maybe it is common. The hotel breakfast was only available from 700 to 1030. I had to leave before 700 and asked (as the hotel instructions said) about an early breakfast, but that was not possible.

I stay at the hotel on a regular basis, as Amsterdam is a stopover on the way to work in Asia . Situation of the hotel is excellent , within walking distance of all the major attractions in Amsterdam, which includes Central station which is convenient for the Airport. My tip would be to book well in advance as sometimes I have been unable to book a room, especially in the summer months, which obviously reflects the hotel's popularity.

The location is fantastic. The hotel is a few steps distance of the Dam and ten minutes walk from Centraal Station. In this privileged location, the hotel has parking for guests. The parking fee is high, but this is the norm in Amsterdam. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. A localização é fantástica. The hotel is very large for the size of the restaurant lounge and breakfast is included in the daily rate, which motivates a queue outside the restaurant around 9:30. There is little variety of food, especially fruits. They never offered bananas, for instance.
