This is a basic-basic hotel, just a bed and a private bathroom. All hotels in Amsterdam are very expensive, and so is this hotel, compared with what you get if you pay the same amount of money in almost any other city in Europe. But since one decides to visit Amsterdam, either he will pay a fortune to stay in a good hotel, or he will be willing to pay a lot for a completely basic hotel, or he will opt for a backpackers hostel. Robertramon is not a hostel, but it's elementary. At least it's clean and relatively quiet. The location is good, since it's a minute's walk from Rijksmuseum and five minutes walking from Van Gogh's museum. But it's not completely central, it's a quarter of an hour walking from Dam square. On the other hand it's very well served by public transport, and it offers one shared computer with free internet, having wifi in all rooms as well. The staff in the most basic reception you can imagine is very polite and helpful.

No coffee/tea facility machine in room. No soap/shampoo in bathroom. Desk chair could have been more comfortable. Breakfast not included and at €15 for breakfast as an extra this is expensive.

Like the location, easy to get there by tram, room waS ok. Only thing I was dissapointed was there was no soap or shampoo for a bath as I didnt get time to get my own. There was soap for handwash but not for a shower. There was a telly but everytime I put it on coldnt see anything. Apart from that it was fine.. Will definetely stay there as its value for money

Staff very helpful, corner rooms are not the best so get one that is along the corridor if possible. Very comfortable and great location for the art museums and shopping. First night we were there we had a corner room and it was a bit noisy and not well maintained. When we moved rooms it was much better. Internet signal was not strong in the corner room either. We ended up extending serveral days as we loved Amsterdam so much. Very comfortable but a bit on the small side in the actual rooms.

Super friendly staff, location, room decor. Rooms are very dark, I was there on business, not a romantic get away and it's impossible to work in the room with such dim light. The lack of toiletries including hair dryer was a suprise.

Very poor service, the 3 days that we stayed there they did not clean our room. There excuse was that they had a problem with communication between the front desk and the cleaning lady, and nobody wanted to take responsibility. And frankly if this hotel is a 3 star hotel then they should be ashamed of them selves for this service, I know a 1 star hotel that even clean your room every day. And also they take advantage of you by making you pay when you check in so that if there is a problem, they would not take any responsibility for it. I found this to be very outrageous. I will definitely not recommend this hotel to any of my friends and of top of that I will be sending my complain to the hotel service in amsterdam.

Great location. I also appreciated the computer I could use in the lobby area. I am used to small hotel rooms in Europe, but this room was extremely small.

Good location on pc Hoofstraat, with nice stores to window shop nearby. The single room was the size of a closet. Not a good value for the money. The shower is actually part of the bathroom, so most of the bathroom floor gets wet.

Stayed at this Hotel for many years prior to its refurbishment and always liked the price and location. A very friendly and welcoming place - newly decorated and very clean. Typical Amsterdam hotel with steep stairs and rooms on the smallish side - but we're used to that and enjoy nevertheless! Would always recommend to friends, particularly for the great location
