This is a basic-basic hotel, just a bed and a private bathroom. All hotels in Amsterdam are very expensive, and so is this hotel, compared with what you get if you pay the same amount of money in almost any other city in Europe. But since one decides to visit Amsterdam, either he will pay a fortune to stay in a good hotel, or he will be willing to pay a lot for a completely basic hotel, or he will opt for a backpackers hostel. Robertramon is not a hostel, but it's elementary. At least it's clean and relatively quiet. The location is good, since it's a minute's walk from Rijksmuseum and five minutes walking from Van Gogh's museum. But it's not completely central, it's a quarter of an hour walking from Dam square. On the other hand it's very well served by public transport, and it offers one shared computer with free internet, having wifi in all rooms as well. The staff in the most basic reception you can imagine is very polite and helpful.

great location. convenient to city transportation and museums. staff was excellent. a small hotel without a restaurant but it does have free internet available. rooms are very small with no air conditioning or fans. If you're traveling in the summer this will be an inconvenience as the rooms heat up very quickly. no fridge either.

The location was good but the staff are generally not very service oriented. The front desk person when I checked in was good. The person there at check out was unpleasant. The security is good and there is a good indonesian restaurant opposite the hotel and many expensive designer shops around. The staff were in general not good.

The hotel is conviniently located near Leidseplein, almost at the very center of Amsterdam's night life. Rooms are miniscule. The hotel gives the bare minimum, it's ok place to rest your head, but nothing more. By overall level it's 2* and not 3* hotel.

The hotel is listed as 4* but outside the official sign of the tourism board is 3*.For me personaly the single room was like a prison cell we see on TV.Using the near vertical stair to reach the breakfast room an older person can fall down easy.I Am not going there again.

Location allowing tours of Amsterdam and easy access to transportation in the city and to both high and lower priced eating places. Breakfast had a good range and quality of self-serve food. Everything was clean. Elevator did not go into basement, and the stairway down to the breakfast room (in basement) was very narrow and steep, and could have represented a problem to persons with limited maneuverability. This was not apparent at the initial on-line investigation.

Hotel is just ok for a range of 50 / 65 euros. Unfortunately I was there during the last weekend of April, and the price was incredibly high for the offered services, which made it a rather bitter experience. Those who want to travel to Amsterdam in difficult dates (few available hotels, high prices), might consider staying in a smaller city close to Amsterdam instead. Public transportation is good, frequent and it takes only 15 or 20 min to go from one city to another.

The location - it was easy to get to from the airport, and perfect for meetings and sightseeing being just minutes from the museums, and major sights of Amsterdam. It needs a makeover and the bathroom was very small and dated.

It's situated at a good location. It's near the shopping district and museum. Staff are helpful. Room is need and clean. The only thing I have to worry about is the service elevator which broke down twice. Luckily it's working when I check out. They allowed me to check in earlier. It's a pleasant experience after all!!

Great location, clean room, friendly staff. Claustrophobic room. It`s good if you want to stay for only 2 or 3 nights but not longer than that. The tv had only 1 English channel, the rest were dutch and also the tv itself was really small and the image quality was poor.

Good value for the money. Great responsive staff. Clean and quiet. Poorly lit rooms. My 5th floor room bathroom always stank even when I had not used it. The smell drifts in from elsewhere.
