One of the loveliest hotel stays I've ever had, and I travel 100+ nights a year. The Schimmelpenninck is a delight in every sense; the staff, the historical building, location, charm, the breakfast, the facilities, all first-class. Best breakfast ever Don't listen to the complaints about it being run-down, it's not. The rooms might need some renovation, but they are very comfortable, clean and adequate. That oldness is called charm (hotel building dates back centuries). Great hotel for romantic get-away |

Our dog was allowed to stay. Lounge and seating areas very pleasant with attentive and pleasant staff. Good sausage and bacon for breakfast. Room was very stuffy and noisy during the night. We had a window looking onto the fire escape so were reluctant to leave it open. The other window opened onto another building so no view whatsoever. Unlikely hotel was fully booked so could not understand why we had been given this room. However the decor and furniture were good. |

The location was perfect, close to the main square's - the hotel was very posh! and I would go back there again. No air con - and it was very hot ! |

I stayed ten years ago for a night or two and enjoyed my stay more then. Since then its grandeur has faded (further). It has fantastic potential because the property is beautiful - it just needs serious renovation. The property is sprawling and has wonderful potential - but it's not particularly well kept or clean. |

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Hotel had kind of a unique and old style. The location in the center of the town Groningen was excellent. |

Man spürt den ehemaligen Glanz. Die Lage ist tatsächlich zentral. Das Frühstück war reichlich, lecker und frisch. Etwas einfallslos. Die Mitarbeiter insgesamt freundlich, aber unpersönlich. Das Hotel ist eindeutig marode. Der Teppich im Zimmer war schmutzig und alt. Das Bad/WC war recht ordentlich, der Duschvorhang verpilzt. |

Perfecte ligging in centrum, vlakbij grote parkeergarages. Op loopafstand van winkels, restaurants, kroegen, grote markt. Schone kamers, zeer bekwaam en vriendelijk personeel. Een fantastisch ontbijt. Ideaal voor een weekend om met je partner Groningen te verkennen. Romantisch kruip-door-sluip-door hotelletje met mooie binnenplaats en 3 restaurants. Een aanrader! |

Prettig hotel met goede ontvangst bij de receptie, onze aanvankelijke kamer was erg gehorig. Natuurlijk beseffen we dat we midden in het centrum zitten maar het leek of de uitgangers door onze kamer liepen. Na overleg de volgende morgen bij de receptie kregen we een veel luxere suite met jacouzie. Ook deze hotelkamer zag er prachtig uit maar op detail wat verouderd; bv koelkast en wat oudere vloerbedekking. |

De lobby en ontbijtzaal zijn zeer stijlvol. Mooie binnentuin. Ontbijt erg goed Redelijk kleine kamer. Badkamer wel groot. Vlek in het laken. Omdat de TV naast het bed stond was het lastig TV kijken vanaf het bed. |

Grote en rustige kamer met balkon aan de binnenplaats. Lekkere bedden. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet (warm en koud). Zeer centrale ligging in de binnenstad. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst. Decoratie/smaak van de kamer en de badkamer licht gedateerd: marmeren tegelvloer in de kamer ; "goude kranen" in de badkamer. |
