Conveniently located across from the train station and within walking distance of the old city centre, this humble hotel is an excellent starting point for excursions.

The characteristic city of Alkmaar offers all the modern attractions one could want whilst still reflecting a rich historical heritage. It is especially well known for the traditional Cheese Market and charming shopping streets. The picturesque artist’s village of Bergen is a few km away and larger cities, such as Amsterdam and Haarlem, are easily reached by train.

At hotel Stad en Land, guests can expect undivided attention and quality service. All the rooms have been recently renovated and are comfortably furnished, boasting modern facilities.

All children under 2 years are charged EUR 7.50 per night and person for cots.

All older children or adults are charged EUR 12.50 per night and person for extra beds.

Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Hotel information

The name Stad en Land is the oldest existing hospitality name of Alkmaar. In our bar, restaurant and reception you can still find paintings from the past.

Food & beverage

The restaurant has been decorated in a warm and attractive way and every day you can enjoy a 3-course daily menu.

From Monday till Friday between 17:00 and 21:00 it is also possible to eat à la carte and choose some delicious and special dishes. The hotel bar is open till 23:00.

All live football matches can be watched on a big screen.

Room information

All rooms have been completely renovated in the past few years and are fresh, clean and meet all security requirements.

The rooms are equipped with standard facilities, including a big screen TV with film channels. All rooms also have 1 chair per guest, 2 towels per guest and shampoo and soap is provided.

Ironing facilities, a hair dryer and a fan are available on request .

Area information

Hotel Stad en Land is centrally located within a stone’s throw from the historical centre of Alkmaar, The dunes of North-Holland and the beaches of Bergen and Egmond are easily reachable by bike. The capital city Amsterdam is just 30 minutes away. Another lovely day trip is a visit to the Zaanse Schans, a delightful old hamlet on the banks of the river Zaan with characteristic green wooden houses, gardens etc.

With this hotel as a starting point, there are plenty of possibilities to enjoy the surroundings of Alkmaar.

rooms were very good, and staff very welcoming

perhaps a bit more choice at breakfast, particularly in the bread/rolls selection, and larger teacups

Covienient location, across road from train station and only 45 mins from Schipol Airport. The hotel suited our needs for a one night stay, as we needed to travel into Heiloo, 5 mins from Alkmaar on the train.

Although the hotel was clean, it is very basic and I would not recommend for a stay longer than a couple of nights.

it was close enough to get to downtown fromt here - the breakfast was great!

the rooms didn't have lighting in the washroom and there was no elevator There is also no real front desk so it's confusing when you come in

Lovely people run the place, location is central and great, beds are comfortable, room is cosy, bathroom clean.

Couldn't figure out how to make the TV work - some sort of button/key activation device??? - was very drunk however!
