market in Schagen, the famous Cheese market in Alkmaar or a cycling tour around the Frisian Isle of Texel.

Area information

Callantsoog is a beautiful touristic village, near the Northsea beach with a lively village center with cosy cafes, restaurants and terraces. In the Summer season there is a fair every Wednesday as well as various events such as country weekend, fairground etc.

Various trips are organised from Callantsoog, i.e. the nearby West-Frisian market in Schagen and the famous Cheese markt in Alkmaar. Also Den Helder with i.e. its Fort Kijkduin (a historical fortress built by Napoleon's orders) and Texel are also easily accessible from the village of Callantsoog.

From Alkmaar:
-From Alkmaar in the direction of Den Helder through the N9 motorway.
-After approx. 20 km. turn left exit Callantsoog.
-Just before the village of Callantsoog cross the parking lot towards Strandhotel de Horn.

From Den Helder:
-From Den Helder in the direction of Alkmaar through the N9 motorway.
-After approx. 20 km. turn left exit Callantsoog.
-Just before the village of Callantsoog cross the parking lot towards Strandhotel de Horn.

By public transport
-By train to trainstation Schagen.
-From Schagen take the bus (number 152) to Callantsoog.
-Disembark at first stop in Callantsoog.
-Walk a few meters back and cross the parking lot towards Strandhotel de Horn.
