Restaurant de Posthoorn is housed in two adjoining listed 17th century buildings of Suitehotel Posthoorn. One can feel the richness of the Golden Century when entering the beautiful façade of the house. Influences of prominent guests of the past like Admiral Dirksz, Persijn family, Napoleon Bonaparte and Princes Juliana are easily traceable throughout the building.

Luxurious dining with international allure in an environment where old meets new. Maître Niels G. Nanninga will provide our guests with the correct and informal service which you are accustomed to in an international and exclusive environment like ours. Enjoy our menu Gastronomique or a la Carte, combined with our beautiful wines, mostly directly imported, and handpicked by our sommelier A.J. Boeljon.

The restaurant overlooks our veranda and monumental garden that is handsomely fitted with tables and comfortable armchairs where one can enjoy breakfast, high tea, drinks and diner.

All rooms feature beautiful handmade colourful walls, designed by the renowned colour expert Meta Weiman, lined and draped in contrasting wall-papers and fabrics. Furthermore they are furnished with carefully selected antique and contemporary pieces such as beautiful sofas, oversized easy chairs, refined tables and are decorated with original 17th and 18th century drawings and paintings from Waterland . Needless to say, each room boasts a fully equipped bathroom, outlets for computers and individually controllable heating. We like to serve you personally and therefore all refreshments, coffee and tea is available by room service. Breakfast is served, a la carte, in the restaurant or in the summer on the patio which guarantees a unique and relaxing start of the day.

Suitehotel is 20 minutes away from Schiphol Airport.

By car


From the direction of Amsterdam (about 12 km)
Keep following directions Zaanstad on the Ring Amsterdam A10/E35. Take the exit Volendam (S113) to Monnickendam/ Volendam. On the exit keep right to the N247 Monnickendam/ Volendam. After 8.6 km turn right into Monnickendam (N518/Bernardlaan). Pass the bridge and directly turn left on the Zarken. U will pass the church (on your right-hand site) and keep following the road into the Kerkstraat. After 225 mtr ( you now face the Speeltoren) left into Noordeinde. You will find de Posthoorn on your left hand after 350 mtr.

Public Transport

Several busses go directly from/to Amsterdam Centre, including bus numbers 110, 111, 114, 115, 210, 217. We advise bus 111 of 115 because of the easy connection.
