Enjoyed leaving greatly! I'm not a man of high expectations and often laugh at some peoples reviews of half decent hotels but this place really is tremendously bad. It wasn't that cheap either. The double room was the size of a shoe box and had 2 very small beds and nothing else, to give you an idea of how small it was we had to lift our suitcase on to the bed to get the door open. It was also filthy and needed a gutting to be honest, the window which overlooks a busy street didn't shut properly so it was noisy too. In short you would have a much more pleasant stay in this wonderful city if on arrival you punched the first policeman you saw and stayed in the cells. That's rubbish for site seeing though.

The location and the efficiency of the receptionist were the only useful features of this hotel. The general state of cleanliness & decoration was very poor. Our first room had a blocked shower, broken sink tap, only half a curtain for the window and as the window to the internal stairwell was not correctly fitted it was a very noisy location. There were no marked fire escapes or other instructions and with the number of dope heads staying there a fire was not an insignificant risk. We changed rooms and at least the shower worked and there was a curtain for the window. If there had been time to find another hotel we would have moved.

Fit a bullitproof window in the door and you have a thirdworld prisoncel. Dirtiest room ever. There was a window, opening up to the staircase inside the hotel. So no fresh air. Breakfast was cheap but everything that was there had been standing there for weeks, disgusting.

Nothing. The hotel was disgusting and the staff not helpful at all. Where to start? The hotel was extremely dirty in fact against European standards of health and safety. The bedrooms were not clean, the sheets had blood on them and when we asked for clean ones we were told they did not have any. The smell of the rooms was sickening. The carpets do need renewing. Finally the bathroom was mouldy. Some of the staff did not speak English just Chinese?! The hotel is owned by a Chinese Man: Mr chi who refused to talk to us and was hiding. The street it is in is full of truants,i initially thought that because it was a pricy hotel (reasonably) it will be ok to stay in for a night.. It made us hate Amsterdam and want to go back home!. This is a low standard hostel. It should not be advertised as a hotel.I Can assure you that hostels in the uk are luxurious if compared to that. This is an unhealthy place to stay where sheets are not changed and the carpets are disgusting, let alone the walls and broken mirrors and mould.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Mostly anything. It was very untidy, practically no cleaning was made in 7 days. The tv didn't function most of the time. The beds were very poor. Absolutely the worst hotel experience ever after travelling many years, in different countries and regarding also the quite reasonable price due to the low season.

I am going to Amsterdam quite often and this is the worst place I have ever slept in! Room: very very small ,there is not place to put your bags , light above the bed didn't work, the room is getting very hot and dry by night causing some breathing problem (awful).Breakfast: it is simply not decent .You have some slices bread but they don't have a toaster!!! If you want tea or coffe you have to PAY(the breakfast should be included in the price of the room!) Security: the hotel has 2 different buildings we were not in the main one, there was no staff and the main door was always open (it should be locked but it was broken!) There are many other hotel b&b in Amsterdam much better than this hotel.I Will never again book a room in this hotel!

The room was dingy. The very short shower stall had mildew on the slanted wall/ceiling. The bed was in horrible condition. Half of the lights were nonfunctional. The bedside drawers were falling apart. The latch of the window onto a very busy street was broken allowing the road noise in all night long. With minor renovation, it could have had a nice bohemian charm. As is, one starts to look for the dead hooker under the mattress.

I would not send anyone to this disgusting place. It smelt of old mould and had old dirty laundry piled up and this smelt the entire place out, even in the rooms, which are so tiny you cant move.. Our room was just aweful. This place is just disgusting, no other word to describe it. Unfit for humans. We only stayed the one night in the end because it literally made me feel ill. Please beware the Hotel Pagannini. More like a run down old whore house.

The location is good. Close to downtown. The bathroom was suprisingly nice and clean. This is not a hotel, it is a hostel. The room was cramped, the windows couldn't be securely closed (we were on the ground floor), it was very noisy, parking nearby was very expensive and it turned out there were much much nicer and a little less expensive rooms available at other hotels (we moved when we found one). Go with low expectations or you will be disappointed.

It was located just near a canal, on the southern canal bot very easy to get around and into centre from there. I booked a double room and got a twin. The beds were the really soft - not good for your back after a day of trekking around the city. There were very few comforts in the room, no mirror, other than in the bathroom and no hanging space. For £100/night I felt quite hard done by! The staff were informative but not very friendly.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Price for quality is way high. You can find other nice hotels for the price. Room was very small. Sink did not work when we arrived. It is more of a hostel not a hotel in terms of quality, but the price is the same compared to better hotels.
