We were upgraded to a "more luxurious houseboat" without a choice, when we arrived everything seemed alright at first, but once the host hastily left after springing a 60 euro hidden fee we started to look around the boat. We soon found most of the cupboard doors were broken as were the drawers, a lamp leaning on the window for support and duck tape holding the base together, we also realized that all the furniture was pretty much page 1 out of the Ikea Catalog, only had a small tv on a wall mount which was not secured properly to the wall and had wires hanging everywhere, and the remote did not work properly. When we checked the batteries, we found bite marks on them, not really what you'd expect from an apartment being described as "luxurious" in every sentence. After about 10 minute we realized why the host was rushing a bit as we found out that we were right by the turning point for canal tour boat, which creates waves that could easily help you fall if your not expecting it. The balcony/terrace was described as much bigger and better than the original boat but as it could barely fit 2 chairs and an extremely small table on it the doors to the terrace had scratch marks all over them from the door handle and all the paint was bubbling too, I'm not sure how the other one could be smaller. When I woke up on the first day I found 2 bites on my arm and my girlfriend had several over her back arms and legs too. Fleas or bed bugs. The shampoo had been watered down to almost nothing, worse than 0% milk, the conditioner had soap mixed in with it and there was no shower gel, not to mention the shower itself was pretty useless, no power at all and it didn't have a shower curtain or screen so got the entire bathroom wet. The sink had a retractable tap that didn't retract properly and just sort of hung on its side.
