We like the style of student hotel, it's perfect for young people! The atmosphere is cook, stuff always with smile :) we had a little bit complicated way to get to our room but in fact it was nice to go through all the hotel again and again:)
No option to pay by cash.
bikes were not available at the moment
Redoing the kitchen during our stay. Drilling noise from 7 in the morning ! The staff wasn't helpful at all with this matter : they couldn't change our room and they told us the noise would start at 9... We cancelled our second night...
as the school about to start, the hotel is filled with freshmen and exchanges. parties, loudness, not very clean. even worse, we encountered over-booking, which was not acceptable, but the staff simply threw 2 breakfast vouchers and asked, "so you're still not satisfied?" We'd prefer to staying the superior suite, instead of some minor room with the vouchers. the manner is not professional.
The Internet access, location that is near the school and some shops.
The bed is not good for the back. It sounds like a pit when lying.
+ The location is great..(close to the canals, surrounded by green, has a tram line just outside the door literally) + The room is comfortable..(depends on the type of room of course, but as a rule of thumb it's true most often than not) + Even though a lot of students live there, noise can be described as minimal - so a good night's sleep is close to granted. + Wi-Fi was great and free of charge.
- Cleanliness is a real issue. The sheets weren't changed on arrival (which is unacceptable) and the room as a whole wasn't properly cleaned beforehand. - The facilities inside the rooms weren't of high standards. Towels were nowhere to be found, toilet paper wasn't there, glasses/cutlery/minibar weren't there, so generally an obvious shortcoming. - The staff. Even though they are willing to help, it seems like they cannot do enough as far as requests are concerned and handled.
student athmosphere; location
long waiting time at reception desk, rather chaotic; restaurant rather expensive though advertised as cheap
The cleanliness and new facility are one of the 2 reasons to stay. The wifi is quite okay in lobby.
I'd stayed twice in this hotel, the 1st time was great. TSH R'dam expanded too fast to its staffs. The long queue of checking in and room arrangement (e.g. overbooking) and the attitude of the staff, which all in terms of quality, were decreased very much. Disappointed.
The fact that can use any cash to pay for your room. Even worse, you cant pay your food at their restaurant in cash!
The central location and that the tram stop where located very close to the hotel. If you wanted to wash your clothes you could do that whenever you wanted to, the washing machines were easy to find and the cost for using the washing machine and dryer was quite cheap.
That you had to turn off the air condition every time you left the room, so when you came back after having been out for a couple of hours the room was too hot because of the hot weather at the time of our stay. This problem was worsened by the fact that it was only possible to open the window a tiny bit. Some parts of the kitchen were really dirty/greasy; we had to clean some parts ourselves so our hands wouldn't get sticky when touching the surface of the sink/cupboard. The bathroom only has an overhead shower, no hand shower.
Value for money Very nice lobby Very nice and helpfull staff Nice bar
It is a bit further from the central zone, but quite close to the metro which is fine. The shower is not very practical because it has only a curtain to separate it from the rest of the bathroom and you end up with water everywhere if you don't pay attention. Also, since the shower cap is fixed, you cannot make a shower without washing your hair also.
Student hotel, lots of people, location near to the citycentre
One blanket for 2 people, no dishes in the kitchen, when I checked-in they wanted me to pay another room, but finally we managed it
Restaurant the kitchen
shower curtain dripping
Clean room, full kitchen although shared, washing facilities, a lot of room for chilling and hanging on the first floor, small gym, nice view from top floors.
TV wasn't working in my room
great lobby design, short distance to tram & city centre
pretty small double bed, no possibility to open the window properly, not perfectly clean
personnels were kind.
The staff was always very helpful and nice. They handled every problem and request right away.
Fun atmosphere and organization of staff
good location, good facilities on the ground floor
Feels more like a dorm than a hotel
Location is ok but not good. Metro station is 10-15-minute walk. Tram station is right in front of the hotel. WiFi is excellent, no login, just works (and works really well).
Located on a busy street, can be noisy if your room is on the street side and you open a window. With closed windows, the sound isolation is good and there's no noise. No soap (come on...). Facilities are very basic - a short bed (strange to see that in the land of tall people), one mediocre pillow. Cleaning (which means changing the towels; no trash take out or anything else) is performed once every two days. There's no way to close the door from the inside or to hang the "do not disturb" sign outside. Basically, it's a long-stay hotel for students doing their semesters. Ordinary travelers may be disappointed.
The SHR Staff at the reception is friendly and helpful.
The room, a Superior Suite, was not completely clean (the stove was not clean at all) and the room cleaning was never done during our stay.
During north sea jazz festival was the price for a room 120 euro's. But we were glad that we found a clean room during that period.
Funky feel, relaxed, location to public transportation. Very fair prices for meals.
Very basic for a fee of 160€ a night. Website not quite reflective of what to expect. Housekeeping arrived 1 hr before checkout and proceeded to stay and clean until we asked she return later as we were not ready to leave. Short on a seating for breakfast.
Hotel is on a great place when you want to see Rotterdam.
Too much design killed it. Half of the equipment of our room didn´t work (only one program on TV, shower, where you cannot adjust the water temperature,...)
