Nice room for 4 people (nr51) nice location
The management and staff were all keen to help guests get the most from their visit. For example, they arranged parking for our car and, when the handbag of an elderly member of our group was snatched by a passing cyclist, the staff could not have been more considerate or helping us to recover the situation.
One small detail. We all found the pillows too rubbery to sleep comfortably with.
Excellent, attentive and well-informed staff at this hotel ideally located for restaurants, museums. Hotel bikes gave us a flavour life in this bike-tastic city!
Our room was tiny, but not a real problem as we felt the cost was very competitive
the staff were nice
the hotel too noisy at night
Hotel location staff /people room was ok for 2 nights but could not stay longer as looking out of the window onto a brickwall . Amersterdam was class
Breakfast was ok but not a fan of continental breakfast at 10 Euro pp. Second morning went out for this and got value for money on a british breakfast for 8 euros pp (fab). Hotel needs to have more choice for the english. Did not see bar open for a drinks on a night time when we got back.
nice cosy rooms good value for the price
the queen was assembled by two single beds with a crack in the middle, which was not very comfortable.
Location very central but quiet street with near by cafes and restaurants .definitely would stay in this hotel again.
Room got fairly hot but reasonable air conditioning
Location right near canal and located to the city Great staff Comfortable bed
Helpful staff. Clean hotel in good location.
Room very poky, shower poor, dull lighting in bathroom
Short walk to centre. What a fantastic unique wall feature.
The location and the view of the canal
Lift only going to 4th floor and my room was on the 5th floor with staircase steep very hard to get suitcase up/down though staff did help
Staff could not be more helpful or pleasant. The rooms are fun and interesting, particularly the ones with a canal view. The breakfast is well worth the money.
Couldn't stay longer.
The quite neighborhood, convenient location, clean room. Delightful van Gogh mural on the wall.
Location, our room was basic but okay. Our friends room was disappointing. Not as pictured and steep stairs up to the 5 floor, Room was small
Our 1st visit last year left no doubt as to our only choice this year! Willingly paid a premium for a "canal view" room. The view is splendid! Super friendly staff and generally the accommodation is as good as it gets. Very central location for exploring the western canal belt and central Amsterdam regions on foot. We will most definitely return.
The premium paid for a "canal view room" put us in a smaller room compared to the standard room of last year and unfortunately it was located RIGHT ABOVE the front door/dining area. Beware! You will not get any rest! Going up to the 4th floor or higher should be acceptable.
Excellent location Clean room Friendly staff Nice breakfast
Too soft bed
expensive (because there was a large conference in town)
Great location & Comfy Beds. Prices more than Doubled for IBC tho, which made it very poor value for money (>£400 for 2 nights single occupancy!) If prices were normal, it'd be ok value for a weekend away.
Bins not emptied when I got to the room and no towels (realised after I got out of the shower). Floor not as clean as it should be and things a bit rough around the edges. Floors, surfaces etc had a sense of not being cleaned as often as they should be.
There was no milk to accompany the tea and coffee facilites in the room on both days, and the remote control was wrong for the TV !! My colleague also had similar problems
Friendly staff, who gave good directions, recommendations for local restaurants, etc. Good breakfast Good use of limited space in the breakfast area Pleasant canal view Nice smell of dope from a local cafe. Street quiet at night
Small rooms (but that's inevitable in such a building) Very large wall-decor for such small rooms. Overwhelming. carpet poor quality and not 100% clean (e.g. behind the door) Nowhere to hang clothes in the bathroom or to put soap, etc. in the shower. Needed a soap-dish!
They had a lift and it worked! Their staff was very helpful and there was a receptionist on duty 24 hours a day. The room had a lovely Van Gogh-like mural on the wall, a comfortable bed, and it was nice to have free WiFi in the room. The location was within walking distance of the center of the city and many activities and shops
There was really nothing we didn't like. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, as it was 10 Euros and was more substantial than we like for breakfast. Within blocks we found many cafes for very nice meals.
Friendly staff, allowed us to check into our room early. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Also can't go wrong with the free pastries on offer at the reception desk! Would stay here again, 10 minutes from the station and right in the heart of the city. Perfect location.
I would suggest trying to get a canal view room at the front. Otherwise from the back, you can only see other rooms from your window.
