The White Tulip Hostel (白色郁金香旅馆)

We stayed in a room for 10 on the first floor and it was quite cozy and confortable, good beddings.

The noise level coming from the seating area outside of the room was intolerable pretty throughout the night and we were not able to sleep. I wish the hotel have the quiet hour policy. I love to recommend the hotel but only if the quiet hour is enforced.

I´ve liked a lot of the hostel stuff, they were very friendly and competent too.

Just only of the noyse that the doors have...Obviously, many people were like getting out everytime...But who is going for sleeping in Amsterdam...Nobody...So I can understood the noise.

Bathroom are not very clean but acceptable. I have seen worse in other hostels.

The worst hostal I´d ever been. Rooms very dirty, small and awful. Toilet sting and very dirty too. Stairs too high, becarefull with logage. Expensive compared with other hostals or hotels near by.

We were very disappointed with the rooms and cleanliness. I would advise anyone over 25 to go elsewhere and there are plenty on hostels outside the Red Light district for less cost and better surroundings. White tulip is on a noisy dirty street filled with sex shops, bars, drug supply shops, and prostitute houses. The bikers run rampart over the walkers. Food is soso and overpriced. It is a madhouse and people have no regard for each other. I liked the canal boat ride. Disregard the other tourist stuff. Take a walk along the canals but beware the motorcycles and bikers and cars. Amsterdam makes nyc look and feel like heaven.f L

. the white tulip hotel is a joke. stinks like urine. we had a mouse in our room. no ventilation. i will make it my business when going away in future to never stay in a place like this again. rooms were like a prison cell

The receptionist was VERY helpful and nice. The location was right in the middle of things. Nice facilities.

Nothing was really that bad. The shower was a bit small and it had some funny solutions. Bit of a steep stairway as well...

The hostel is pretty cool if you are not so much interested to the comfort. If you are a group of friends it could be nice but forget every kind of comfort. They try to keep it clean but it's not enough... Often the bathrooms are stinky and dirty and the people at the reception are pretty stoned. But that is Amsterdam and if you don't are a princess, the hostel is awesome for its location. It's my third time there!

I'm pretty sure we booked a private room with private bathroom and we got the room but the bathroom was in common... Maybe I'm wrong.

The location: 5 minutes to the Central Station, the Dam Square, just behind the famous oldest Church in the city, and beside the Red Light Disctrict. Clean, fresh blankets (astonishing considering the rest!) Free WIFI at each floor (although sometimes not working). open and manned desk 24h.

The hostel is one of the worst I've ever been to. Let me say that, I'm 39 and I travel staying in Hostels since I was 17. Noisy: the first floor dorms (the one I was for 3 nights) is just over a Pub =loud music and drunk people at weekends untill late at night. Dirty: I saw somebody quickly cleaning the bathrooms only once. Wc often clogged, showers dirty, paper all over. The dorm I was in looks like nobody ever cleaned it. Little space: the reception can hold one person at the time. Steep stairs (but that's ok - it's an old, typical Amsterdam building). Dorms not spacious (12 beds per room), bunk beds aligned one beside the other. The shower (4 for 3-4 dorms each floor...) can barely take the person. No space left for the clothes. Pricy: about 35 euro/night, without breakfast. Description on Booking.com quite misleading. But... Considering the position, I doubt the other hostels in the same area are better... Last word: can go only if you need to be very close to the Station to catch an early train, and if you really don't mind the comfort. Go away from the Center to find better deals.

It is what it is. The shower and toilet facilities are actually ten times better than the last time I sttayed. You get what you pay for. We got the room with the best view, so no complaints there. Ideally located, it is a basic room only that you get. But if ur only in amsterdam with ur mates 4 a few days then its perfect. The pillows were also some of the most comfortable ive slept in. The biggest put off for me was that there was a maintenance guy painting some damp when we were checking into our room. But I suppose the upside is that we didnt have to complain, as they were already on it.

Moisissures dans la salle de bain, odeur de friture, d'oignons et de relents d'égout à longueur de journée. Draps douteux, lits très inconfortable. À éviter à tout prix !

Absolut gar nichts so ein Drecksloch habe ich noch nie gesehen, angekotzte Waschbecken, komplett versaute Toiletten sowie Duschen ein Horror, dreckige Bettwäsche, sowie Handtücher, Fenster konnte man nicht schliessen!
