The view of Vondelpark from my window. The quiet street it was on. The comfortable armchairs in the room. The free internet in the foyer. I was able to rent a bike on the premises, which made life very easy for me. The staff were approachable. The room was way too hot! I turned the heating off. The minibar fridge was at the head of the bed - try sleeping next to a fridge! I unplugged it. I had no hot water for tea in my room because that part of the Nespresso machine was broken. I did have hot water for tea 24 hours down in the reception but it would have been nicer to have it in the room for the morning. Breakfast was far too expensive for this city. I lived here before - I know what things cost. |

The Toro is nicely placed in a pleasant residential area - approximately 10 minutes by tram out of central amsterdam, and is right next to the Vondelpark which is worth a stroll. The staff where really helpful and friendly. Our bed was far too soft and there was no bar |

There are wide range of coffees and teas for free. I have never imagined myself staying in the attic as I booked 4 ranked hotel. It was iterally attic and I am not exaggerating. Don't reserve the room at lowest price. Believe me! |

Loved the view of the park. Loved the bike rental. Loved the cozyiness. Really blah breakfast. Room was a bit shabby. Bath tub/shower was dangerously close to the loo ... almost impossible to get out of the tub. |

Excellent , quiet, convenient location near the park. Easy to park if a little expensive. Good security for valuables and generous with toiletries and towels. Decor was in need of freshening up- paint rather chipped and wardrobe space very basic.Cost of breakfast very high so we ate elsewhere. We stayed there 2 years ago and it looked just the same! |

The lounge, the dining room and the garden were very pretty and comfortable. It was good that it has both a bathtub and a shower. The location is not too convenient for going out to the city. |

I had a charming room. Full of character, superior furnishings. Very welcoming. Gloriously comfortable bed. Given the high cost of the room, I would have thought that free interent would have been included. I paid €160 for a night, but I didn't arrive until 11pm and left at 7am. That worked out to be €20 an hour for the room. Yes, internet should have been included for that! |

Overall I like the hotel. In fact, I'm returning next month. However, it was grossly over-priced when I stayed their last week. The only reason i took it was because it was the only room available in town. The location is peaceful. But I know Amsterdam very, very well. If I didn't I would be very disoriented on the location. Also, the front staff is a bit indifferent. Nice, but absolutely not four star friendly. In fact, I had to haul my luggage from the street up the stairs and back down. Also, the breakfast is very over-priced. There is no option for dinner at the hotel and the staff didn't seem included to offer any suggestions. What this hotel has going for it is a cozy, homey feeling and an absolutely beautiful location. Dated Bathroom. Dinky bathrobe. Un-inspired breakfast. No dinner option. |

Quiet location - attractive park views (if your bedroom is on the park side - otherwise not so attractive street views). Friendly, helpful staff. Great potential, but... Tired rooms and really outdated bathrooms - and our room had blocked drains. The hotel is billed as a "classic mansion, full of atmosphere, was transformed into a refined, chic and small design hotel" - which creates a wholly misleading impression. Breakfast is basic and at €17.50 does not represent value-for-money. |

It was in a smart location overlooking a park. Our room was spacious and extremely quiet a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Coffee and tea where available in the lounge day and night and was free. They had bikes if you where daring enough to brave the traffic. Breakfast was expensive we thought and we went elsewhere for it.Also parking was prohibitive and we went nearby to Park & Ride which was much cheaper but a hassle when we had struggled to find the hotel in the first place. One way systems!!! Not really the fault of the hotel though. |

This is a small, beautiful and classic hotel. We found the staff to be always friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and well serviced and it was quiet at night. The hotel is situated in a beautiful peaceful area, has a lovely quiet terrace/garden overlooking the lake and there is nearby access to the Vondel Park. Lighting in the room is inadequate at night. We were unable to read our papers. The single room that we had to take for our 16 year old daughter was vastly overpriced and didn't include breakfast. |

Excellent location on the park's borders, with easy access to entertainment area and museums- max. 15 min walking or 5 min by bike to the straight city, 2 min to tramstop. Great atmosphere, safe area. Very small double room- if one person sits by the desk, only access to toilette is through the bed. I don't recommend hotel bikes- are in poor state. |

Seclusion and quiet street; located directly on a canal adjacent to the Vondelpark. Beautiful mansion with unique architectural and interior beauty. Staff was nice and very helpful. If possible, be sure to request a room with a porch or veranda. Not all rooms have this feature, and its nice to be able to exit the room onto the porch, especially considering that the rooms are on the smaller side. The bathroom was old and outdated. The ceiling tiles were covered in mildew and although the shower was clean, it looked a bit dirty due to scratches and general wear and tear. This was definitely the worst bathroom we had on our trip, which included 2 hotels in Amsterdam and 1 hotel in Bruges. |

The pprice was pretty fair in high season. The reception were friendly. Location not very far from downtown. I had a car and I could easily find a park place in fron of the Hotel, pay parking for sure and expensive but finding a park place in Amsterdam is not easy. In the website they have mentioned there is Parking nearby for € 6 per day, but to get there you got to get a tram and travel for couple of min and walk for another couple of min. Practically that's not a real option! The Hotel didn't really look like a 4 star rated Hotel, it was descent but not in 4 stars level. |

Hotel was very picturesque. Especially back patio area with flowers and stream. Room was comfortable and nicely furnished. Did not have breakfast there so can't comment on quality of food. Desk clerk was very friendly and helpful with suggestions and directions. Area where hotel is located was very quiet, pretty, and next to a park. Did not realize it would be so far from center of city. Had to ride tram everytime we went anywhere, although was a short ride. Since we were tourists and had not been to Amsterdam before rode to city center a lot. |
