The Houseboat under the Mill is set in a peaceful location in the west, with a beautiful view over the water. Wake up to find the rippling canal water reflected on your ceiling and get up to prepare your own favourite breakfast.

The houseboat (45 m²) is situated under a wonderful old mill and has a separate living room and bedroom. In the neighbourhood there are plenty of cheap parking spaces and easy public transport links to the city centre. The houseboat offers accommodation for 1 to 4 people.

The houseboat has a private entrance, is fully furnished and sleeps up to 4 people. During your stay you will have the houseboat entirely to yourself.

The owners speak fluent English, German, Dutch and basic French.

Please note that the entire hotel is non smoking.

Food & beverage

No meals are provided. The houseboat is fully equipped for self-catering with a kitchen, gas hob, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans. Coffee, tea, sugar, coffee whitener, salt, pepper and some spices are provided for free.

Near to the houseboat there are small food shops, a supermarket, takeaway food and various restaurants.

The houseboat is fully furnished and provides space for up to 4 people. The living room area offers space for 2 people on the sofa bed and the separate bedroom has 2 beds (twin bedstead). The houseboat has its own shower and toilet.

Area information

The houseboat is situated in a quiet, peaceful part of the city but within easy reach of the city centre by public transport. You will find this comfortable accommodation next to one of Amsterdam’s 2 large windmills.

The city centre is only a 25-minute walk away, through some of the most picturesque areas of Amsterdam.

The Jordaan area, one of the most pleasant parts of the city, is within a short walking distance. Here you will find a variety of old houses, small shops, nice restaurants and outdoor cafés.

Right across the road you will find Westerpark, which is Amsterdam’s new cultural and culinary area.

Travel information

BY CAR :
- Driving from Schiphol Airport, Den Haag take the A4 road towards Amsterdam.
- Then take Ring Amsterdam West (A10) towards Zaanstad.

- Driving from Amersfoort (A1), take the Ring Amsterdam Oost (A 10) towards Den Haag.
- Then take Ring Amsterdam West (A10) towards Zaanstad.

- Driving from Utrecht (A2), take Ring Amsterdam Zuid (A10) towards Den Haag.
- Then take Ring Amsterdam West (A10) towards Zaanstad.

- After you take the West turning towards Zaanstad continue until exit S103 (Haarlem) which you need to take.
- At the end of the exit turn right in the direction of Centrum (Haarlemmerweg).
- Drive straight on until you reach the 4th set of traffic lights.
- Turn left at the traffic lights towards the windmill.
- Take the next right and then turn left into the car park. You will see the houseboat (number 6) right in front of the lawn around from the windmill.

Parking fees are required between 09.00 and 19.00, except Sundays.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
- From Schiphol Airport railway station take the intercity train to Amsterdam Central Station.
- From Central Station take Bus number 21, which is located at the bus terminal on the very left bridge.
- Get off at Vredenhof (ask the driver to warn you where to get off). Your journey should take about 10 minutes.
- Cross this road and continue walking in the driving direction of the bus until you reach the windmill.
- Turn left into the second path just before the windmill. The houseboat (number 6) is the second one along, facing the windmill, directly in front of the lawn beside the windmill.

There are connections from the houseboat to the city centre by bus and tram. For a small price, it may be possible for the owners to drive you to some locations in the city centre.

Important information

During booking, all guests should state their expected arrival time using the Guest comments box.

During summer and Christmas, the hotel should be informed at least 3 weeks in advance about your arrival time.
