Houseboat under the Mill

It's a fantastic accommodation to explore Amsterdam! Beautiful view, really nice and helpful house holder, clean and comfortable rooms, good equipped facilities. Very happy experience!

This is a quite a nice houseboat with large rooms, full equipment and kind owners. We cooked several times in the warm kitchen and took a lot of nice photoes just in the boat. Thanks for the interesting present and attentive service.

Liesbeth and Fred are the hosts with the most. We were treated like long lost friends or family member. Being Americans in Amsterdam for the first time we were able to find our way around and do what we wanted to do with the their assistance. The houseboat itself was romantic according to Linda and I found it a fun adventure. Each evening were visited by swans probably looking for scraps, but I wouldn't doubt that Liesbeth arranged them for entertainment. When we couldn't contact our cruise ship the day of our departure, Liesbeth aided us beyond expectations and found where it docked and saved the day. If we could spend a yearly vacation in Amsterdam, we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. When we left we invited them to stay with us if they ever visit our country. If you want a clean and comfortable apartment for a base while being a tourist, you couldn't find a better place.

Really nice hosts

We loved staying at the houseboat under the Mill. Liesbeth & Fred are great hosts. They are friendly and accommodating. The houseboat was cozy and clean, and it was fun feeding the ducks out the window. It's a leisurely 10-15 minute walk to the downtown area and there is a park nearby. The bus ride back from Amsterdam Centraal only took a few minutes at off peak hours & 15 min during 'rush' hour. I would love to visit again and would recommend to anyone!

We had a great stay on this lovely houseboat. Everything was facilitated for in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and livingroom. We felt very much at home and Liesbeth & Fred provided everything for us. My wife and little son loved feeding the ducks and swans out of our window. Very peacefull here although so near to the centre. We will definetivly return!

Nothing was wrong. But this is not an house boat. We can call " float small house on the cannel". Beacuse I've stayed lots of house boats which were really boats.

I think owners should move this house little bit far because there is only 1 mt distance between the boat and the house. And The entry from the garden to the house is not good. If they move the float house or if they change the position of the float house than it would be better. Finally they should find a solution of the bad smell in side of the house.

The place was perfect. Lesibeth and Fred are very kind and welcomed the guess with a big smile and provided whatever we needed and good guides. The boathouse was very cozy, ducks quacking in the morning. The boathouse is nicely located with lovely window views. Well equipped, and was nice to self cater.We loved everything there except it was raining most of the days. Will definitely come again in summer with my family. It's my third time here and it's still the best place I've ever stayed! It's like your own home in Amsterdam! Strongly recommended to everyone who wanna feel the spirit of true Dutch lifestyle!

it was perfect for what we wanted we wanted to experience the city life but at the end of the day come back to our comforts and peace and quiet the house boat has everything you will need and more!!!the couple who run it are really helfull and friendly and the city is just a 10 minute bus journey away a 5 minute walk from the house boat to the bus stop and the buses run every 10 minutes perfect!!!we loved it and waking up to the ducks quacking every morning was brill!!!wish we could have stayed longer!!house boat very clean and homely.we will deffinately return next time for longer.thanks very much.nat and neil.x

I liked absolutely everything. The house was very cozy, very quiet, green area, although not far from the city center. And I am especially thankful to the hosts for their welcoming attitude and helpfulness.

There was one mosquito in the house, but we got along just fine.

Very nice sefl contained boat with everything you need for a nice stay. It is so close to Amsterdam city (9mins) but yet so quiet and peacful, you would think you were in the country. The owners are also so nice and friendly and make you feel at home. Highly recommended.

Fred Liesbeth and Kije really welcoming and provide good guide to local area. Boat is nicely located with lovely window views. Well equipped, and was nice to self cater. Shops and bars within short distance and v.close to Westerpark with its cool bars and restaurants. North Sea Jazz Club, not a budget evening but highly recommended. The houseboat was a great place to stay and although slightly out of centre it's still easily accessible. Will definitely stay again,

My only negative would be the need for decor update. In my humble opinion simply changing curtains cushions and picture frames to something more consistent and contemporary would make an enormous difference.

The host family are so nice and helpful, Liesbeth and Kiji. They got everything ready, especially the tourist information and special events in Amsterdam. The view from the houseboat is amazing, and the swan just knocked the window to wake you up in the morning and ask for some special treat like bread , biscuits. Lovely. Also it is cosy. It is big enough for a family.

A 10 for Fred & Liesbeth! Even beiing a-very-last-minute reservation and arrival on the same day everything worked out well (as expected) perfectly. For a short stay of less then 24 hours I needed a place to stay for a friend of mine and had to be absolutely sure that she would be well taken care of in a friendly and warm way with no hassel. Liesbeth and Fred; Claudia loved your place and the way she was received and how you helped her out; she asked me to thank you as her english is poor. She will send you an e-mail when back in Brazil. Everything really. Liesbeth, Fred & Lajla were more than friendly and hospitable, the house is well located, in a quiet and clean part of Amsterdam but only 12 minutes from the center, the house has a very cozy atmosphere, the view was great and all the facilities are just there from tea spoons to TV.

The Dutch Toilet is not my type really :-)

It is a lovely houseboat, with spacious living room, bedroom and kitchen equipped with everything you need. The location is nice and quiet. About 15 minutes from the Central Station by bus. Liesbeth, Fred and Kije were so hospitable, attentive and ready to give us all the information about the city. Thanks them again.

How to describe a perfect stay in a few words? Staying (again) in the 'Houseboat under the Mill' with Fred, Liesbeth & kids can be described as COMING HOME IN A HOTEL. Reception by Liesbeth & Fred is friendly and warm as always; questions or problems ... they are glad to give you directions and help you out where possible! This cosy floating housboat is located in Amsterdam (a little out of the centre) the 'waterly surroundings' and the sight of a real working windmill next door gives me a little bit of a coutry-side feeling. Next time I will bring my wife & kids!

Die Nähe zur Innenstadt und die tollen Vermieter Liesbeth und Fred, die immer den richtigen Tip haben, was man unternehmen kann in dieser tollen Stadt.

Tolle Gastgeberfamilie, immer nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Lage und die öffentliche Verkehrsanbindung ist sehr schön. Die Eigentümer sind sehr nett und sprechen sehr gut deutsch. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind schnell zu erreichen.

Nice and quite place. Rather comfortable for living. Nice view from the boat. Good kitchen, even blander and coffee-machine are available. Very convenient if you like to cook yourself. A big shop as within 10-minutes walk from the hotel. Another one - in 3 bus-stops. Several places to eat are also within 10-minutes walk. A bus stop from where you can get to the Central station (the very center of the city) is just in 5 minutes from the boat. Buses are rather frequent (every 10 -15 minutes) and are available till the late evening. So it was easy to reach the city center. Тихое, симпатичное и спокойное место, вдали от городской суеты. Довольно комфорто и уютно жить. Вид из лодки - замечательный. Отлично оборудованная кухня - есть даже блендер и кофе-машина. Очень удобно, если вы любите или имеете необходимость готвить в поездке сами. В 10 минутах от отеля есть большой супер-маркет, где можно купить в том числе и свежые рыбу и мясо. Там же есть несколько мест, где можно перекусить. Второй супер-маркет расположен в 3 автобусных остановках от отеля. Автобусная остановка, откуда вы можете добраться до Центрального вокзала (самый центр города) - в 5 минутах ходьбы. Ехать минут 10, автобусы ходят каждые 10-15 минут до самого позднего вечера. Так что добраться до центра - не проблема.

It was a bit cold in the bathroom and water regulation was a bit unpredictable - hot water changed for cold sometimes without any movements from your side. But that is not bad for your health, so...it did not spoil our stay at all. :))) В ванной было немного холодновато, плюс вода иногда непредсказуемо меняла температуру - то шла горячая, то холодная. В общем, закалялись :))) Отдых это никак не испортило.
