Van der Valk Hotel A4 Schiphol

The hotel seems to me quite well organized and quite efficient. The approach to the rooms is really easy and inside the room I was satisfied with the set up.

The television however did not show the Dutch "publieke zenders". The program on the other providers was quite boring, though I anyhow did not have too much time to watch.

No tea/coffee making facilities.

Too much noise throughout the night. People coming and going at all hours. Baths being run at 02h00 in the morning and you can hear the water running.

Quiet. Good Breakfast. Comfortable bed. Free parking for the day.

The staff (who could listen to the client before giving answers), the distance between reception and the room, with poor lift facilities (annoying with luggage), no phone at the desk (strange for a so-called "exec" room). Oldfashioned furniture. Inconstant water temperature.

The hotel is conveniently sited and the facilities are adequate for my business trip requirements.

As with most European hotels compared with those in the usa, charging separately for internet access is irritating.

The assurance that the food is always straightforward good and plenty. The restaurant team always make efforts to accomodate everyone and make people feel at home. The reception is always friendly and ready to be of help.

the rooms are minimalist equiped--no paper tissues just the bare basics. het komt en beetje goedkoop over.

Staff was helpful and breakfast was excellent.

Beverages machine did not work and was plugged out. However, one could not recognise this and this caused another trip to the reception to get the 2 Euro back. Finally, they sent me to the basement to another machine.

the distance from the city centre. the website says that the hotel is close to the airport but actually is quite a bit further. there is a long way to go to take a u-turn to get to the hotel.

The closeness to Schiphol and transportation to the airport. Room seize was quite nice.

It is far too expensive for what it is. Service is bad to non-existant. SInce we had an early flight we asked to have our breakfast reservations canceled. They told us they could not since it was a special B and B rate. This turned out not to be true. Breakfast was 15 euro pp which was exactly added to the room rate. When we arrived an hour early, they charged 15 euro extra!
