Van der Valk Hotel Venlo  

Just off autobahn so very handy overnight stop on our way to ferry at Rotterdam.

The convenience of its position and the look of the building very welcoming. The smiling curtsy from the reception. The rooms were more than generous in size and furnished to a very high standard. The restaurant was exceptional in its appearance and food beautifully presented and very well cooked to order. overall I would award this hotel 10/10 in all instances. I would be very happy to return should I have the opportunity

Very comfortable. Staff were very attentive and polite. Nestles by the side of the motorway and so easily accessible as long as you can master Holland's road network.

A double room was booked but double rooms do not exist at this Hotel. The information shown at the time of the booking was misleading.

The room was clean and comfortable - very basic facilities which we paid a good price for. The food in the restaurant was very nice and the ambience was good in the restaurant but the patio was noisy because of the close proximity of the highway.

The hotel is a very long way out of Venlo centre - it would be helpful if they provided a bus number for those without a car. We were overcharged for our meal and unfortunately the waitress was rather ungracious when it was pointed out to her. The receptionist was less than interested in helping us find information about public transport from Venlo to Weeze Airport. We were glad to have use of you free internet to do so. We left feeling that this hotel is an impersonal stop off for business people.

Lettuce ran out at the salad bar!! very limited selection when taking the evening meal.

Friendly helpful reception. Good evening meal and excellent buffet breakfast. Room not luxurious but quite adequate for one night. Close to motorway and very easy to find. Plenty of free, secure parking.

The hotel was quiet. The breakfasts were very good. The location is right off the highway. Overall a good business hotel.

The only thing I would not recommend is the restaurant for dinner and lunch. Although I had a great soup, the rest was marginal and the cost is fairly high

Totaly stupid reception. They charged my credit card 2x higher amount (their mistake) and zero effort to fix it. All about the reception - I slept there several times and they were always very arogant and not friendly at all!

The hotel was nice however Bookings.com had miss information on the website. It noted that the hotel had a swimming pool and leisure facilities etc. This is wrong. These facilities are within a 5km radius.

Free Wi-fi Breakfast food had good variety and quality. Had one evening meal which was good.

The economy rooms had no tea/coffee making facilities. The cheapest hotels and bed&breakfast places in UK all have this.

Nothing further to add than the entries already made, but an excellent hotel.

Near our holiday destination the Floriade and previous Van der Valk experiences.

Could not controle room temperature. Aircon not fuctional. Lift size to small not enough lift facilities. Waiting time up to 10 min in the morning. I could not make use of the stairs as I am using a motorised wheelchair.

I Asked to stay a second night as I though to go a second day to Floriade but was offered only a suite which I refused, instead of my normal room.A bit to obvious to me that they wanted to make up on my first booking which was a good deal for me.So if you want to stay there go by www.booking.com- a lot better deal than directly by the hotel web side

We were able to hire bikes from the hotel and purchase discounted tickets to Floriade. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The location was good as we were walking distance into Venlo to have our supper and a drink without needing our car.

The rooms next to the motorway are very noisy due to the sheer amount of traffic traveling past. The room had air conditioning which was helpful in staying cool as the noise was to loud to open the windows during the night.

Perfect for our 2-night bed & breakfast stay in a very comfortable, well-priced hotel with free carparking in very easy reach of Floriade.

Very quiet. Clean and pleasant. Good service from the household staff and in the restaurant. Good quality food, but this was rather expensive. Extra pillows were provided straight away and a problem with a towel rectified immediately.

Not enough parking for invalid people and of the only 2 places 1 was taken on all three nights by a car without an invalid card. No-one would do anything about it. Prefer to have breakfast included in the price.

good place to stay

The hotel is easy to find due to its location next to a highway. The car park is wide enough to accommodate all of the guests' cars. When we checked in the receptionist on duty was very friendly and professional. We had an overall good impression of the staff.Even the economy rooms have a pretty high standard, offering all the facilities you expect in a 4 star hotel. The hotel's location is ideal for shopping, sightseeing or visiting the "Floriade". We also liked the small picturesque villages in the neighbourhood such as Arcen , the castles and the National Park "De Maasduinen".

Great dinner, great breakfast!. Easy to get there when driving

The hotel 3rd floor was stinking (weed). I had to change the room. Twin beds with wheels? Not the best idea. It moves in the middle of the night. You end up sleeping with the feet on the ground.

The beds were very good and a nice room, the restaurant was beautifull and breakfast and diner were very good and the personel were very kind and helpfull

The room was quite spacious, clean and cozy. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was really good.
