Hotel Roemer is a boutique hotel in 2 historic 18th-century mansions on a quiet street, only a quarter mile from Leidseplein in the heart of Amsterdam.
Score from 210 reviews Very good
There is no elevator, and the stairs are soo narrow and uphill.I mean reaaally narrow. We had hardship to carry our luggage to our room.
Breakfast was good Staff were excellent, very friendly, helpful and professional. A good price for Amsterdam
Very kind and helpful staff, cozy atmosphere, nice and quiet neighborhood yet not too far from the city center, good value for money considering the overall standard in Amsterdam.
Location, staff, breakfast, shower, quietness.
I found the room quite stuffy even with the window open so did not sleep wel. A simple matter of a fan would I think make a big difference.
Very cosy hotel , friendly owner , good restaurant recomendation , close to museum
The attitude of the staff. Great!
It is impossible hotel for older people because of the steep stairs and the lack of elevator
Very well located, near the museums and far enough from city noise to get good nights of sleep. Very nice staff, a japanese family eager to help you out with your trip. Included breakfast starts early and is very well served, with anything you could possibly want for starting the day. Everything was very clean. The summer days were hot and the hotel didn't have air conditioning, but they included cooling fans in the room to make it more confortable.
They gave lot of time to my kids with patience because its family run hotel. No elevator but they let us leave luggage in the office so we could only take what we need. Right next to vongogh musium supermarket n parks. They let us use their water boiler etc very very good people.
Friendly staff, clean room, a bit far away from the central station but you can reach the tram and museums in few minutes walk.
No elevator, the stairs is very steep, it was impossible for me to carry my heavy luggage alone(their staff helped me with this which is nice). The share bathroom is ok but it is so inconvenient for me to walk down stairs in order to use the toilet. And the wifi on the third floor is so weak.
The staff are hospitality and closed to the public transportation ( trems, bus ) . It is easy to get bus to schipole
It is difficult for bring the big lugage to upstair because its no provide by elevator
stuffs are so nice so friendly people
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location (walking distance to everything).
Nice owner. Accomodations were excellent
friendly staff and atmosphere
narrow steep stairs with shabby carpet
We think that the most valuable thing was the caregiving of Staff. We recomend that hotel for all kind of tourists, young old, people travelling in buisness or just for fun, relax and site seeing like us. We would like to add one thing the food was very delicous and tasty.
everything was very nice! Personal is great, food is nice :)
Very kind and curteous staff, a very comfortable, quiet room, excellent location.
I stayed at Verdi hotel with my sister and we both loved it! The beds were insanely comfortable, the staff was very knowledgeable snd helpful, it was in a nice quiet location but still close enough that we were able to walk evereverywhere. And it was only a single bus ride to and from the airport.
shared toilette on the floor
Very quiet but very near of the Museum. Charming old style room: very cosy with a space for the children which could be separated by curtains.
- Very polite staff (most probably a family runs this hotel). - Near to the most important museums - Quiet neighbourhood - Although in their site (and booking.com) it is written that wifi is available in the public parts of the hotel, the wifi worked quite well in our room (first floor).
- The stairs are very very steep! - The breakfast is very modest (especially if you plan to stay for many days, as we did) - The rooms are old enough! - Overall, the price of 140 euros per night (including 5.5% taxes and breakfast) may be good for Amsterdam but not for this hotel.
I really liked the museum district that this hotel is located in. It is on a quiet street, near public transportation. There is a frequent bus service around the corner that takes you to the airport in 20 min. It is also right by a tram stop. The staff was very nice and helpful.
The Wi-Fi was weak. The furniture was very old. The rooms, including the shared bathroom, were not well lit. There is no air-conditioning and it was quite hot (I went in May). The breakfast could be improved.
friendly staff, good breakfast, location for people interested in culture: perfect ie behind concert hall, near to Van Gogh and state museum. Located in a tranquil street. Several good restaurants near.
room for 2 persons very small, beds very narrow
Friendly staff and great position to reach the main museums
