* A great location, situated in Remberantplein, for all those who are from UK/London, it is like Leicester Square of Amsterdam, full of places to eat, gifts shops, bars, clubs and yes coffee houses * 5 minute tram ride to Amsterdam Centraal Rail Station, Dam Square etc. * If you like walking, Dam Square, Red Light District is very close. * Nice and friendly staff, extremely co-operative, allowed me to keep luggage with them for hours after checkout till I collected it when my flight was due. * The breakfast was decent, rather than normal bread and jam, it had options of cake, eggs, salami juice, cereals and biscuits. * Bathroom was clean and tidy * Room was slightly stuffy, the window couldn't be opened, so it was slightly hot in the room. * The area is noisy, not a problem for me, but could be problem for some (My girlfriend could not sleep the first night) * TV did not work properly (we weren't in the room to watch it anyways, but can be problem for some)

First of all, had a really good location, near Rembrandt Square, so really animated ! I was surprised that I had receveid a renovated room, so the smell of toxic painting was terrible, could have not sleep if the window was not open !!! with a temperature of 10 degrees during the night and the fact that it was near Pubs and Disco didn't give me the chance to sleep as good as expected !

The hostel is situated near the city-centre, staff is quite friendly and ready to help. Rooms for 4 people is best for travelling with company of friends: quite spacious and light, and for reasonable price. But of course, if you're travelling with family or as a couple, it's better to find a hotel, not a hostel.

Excellent location and staff, comfortable bed. The hotel is a typical Dutch house - as per my Dutch partner. Nice and warm room, could leave the window open in December during the night. We loved the stairs - very narrow and bit challenging - again, typical Dutch. Stay in the hostel if you have a good sense of homour and/or like to try out something different There is only 1 bathroom for too many rooms. It was a bit tired and was kept as clean as possible.

The location is excellent, it's right in the center of the city, surrounded by lots of bars, the breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful and kind. It is a budget hotel, so it has shared facilities and the room is kind of small and very modest. I expected to find something terrible after I read some reviews, but it wasn't bad at all, both the room and the bathroom were clean and the value for money is good.

Staff is good and cooperative. Breakfast was good. Height of room where we stayed was very short, I banged my head against projecting beam twice. Staircase are too narrow and too steep. Bathrooms are shared by too many rooms at different floors.

the beds were very comfy. our room was very simple and quite dated but cute and safe and clean. the location was in a square and very central. the Hotel walls and carpets in the hallways were disgusting. when we arrived the hotel staff charged us 5% city tax even though it stated on my reservation with booking.com that the price included the city tax so we were charged an extra 8 euros which was unexpected.

The hotel is really well located. From the hotel you can walk to every tourist attraction in less than 15 minutes. The staff iss really helpfull and the breakfast is included in the preice which is great. I really like´d the hotel, but the fact that the bathroom doesn´t have a door and it is separated from the room just by a courtain was a surprise. I don´t know if this is usual but was the only thing that keeps me from recomending the place.

Location and friendliness of the staff are the only ones I can think of. I'm still traumatized by the constant banging of the door and the smell of "hashish" leaking through my window at night. We stayed in room number 2, directly above the cafe where people drink and smoke pot all night long. Breakfast is very stale, consists of OJ, milk, bread, cheese and slices of ham. The staff is very nice though and accomodating...Don't expect a lot when you stay here. Location is ideal, very close to tram stop and can get you anywhere throughout the city.
