Staff were friendly and polite. The room with a view over the canal was bright and airey with a nice view. The breakfast was simple but plentiful. All in all the hotel offers excellent value for money and we had an enjoyable stay there. My friends had a room without a canal view and this seemed a bit dark and dingey. |

close proximity to drinking/eating places, great location because of this slightly cramped at breakfast table, more tables of fours would be better than long groupings of 16. |

The hotel was very clean and centrally located - we needed to be near the train station, so it was perfect. Our room faced onto a canal, so the view was picturesque. Staff were pleasant, polite, and helpful. We were offered discount coupons for the hotel restaurant and another nearby establishment, which was nice even though we weren't able to use them. The neighbourhood is very noisy on Friday night - this didn't bother us particularly, as we only stayed the one night, but it might be a nuisance for those staying longer. The beds were very soft and quite saggy, not great for sleeping. |

I like the effort by the cleaning staff to keep the room clean each day. I did not like the fact that the hotel does not permit visitors in rooms but the staff on more than one occassion did allow my friend in Amsterdam to come up to my room for short periods when necessary. |

The location is very good for looking around in the centrum of Amsterdam. Although close to Red Light District but safe and we still can have a nice sleep there. The price for double room on the weekend for 1 night is 105 euro, which is quite expensive. The room is not as big as we thought for double room but acceptable. The floor is a little bit not clean. |

I liked the fact that it is just in front of a canal in Amsterdan. The location is in the heart of the town. I also appreciated the breakfast: simple but clean and healthy. The staff is helpful. The bed linens and towels are very clean. The single bedroom is very small. There was too much noise in the evening from the surroundings areas: pubs, etc. The shower had a problem of drainage. Although smoking was not allowed, there was a strong smell of cigarette in the room. |

Good size room for single occupancy. Quiet room as was at rear of hotel. Room cleaned daily, fresh towels. Friendly staff. Only fault was strange smell after having shower. However the air freshener provided did help. |

Location, redlight activity buzz at night. Staff was friendly and help replace blown bulb in bathroom Narrow stairways, a little noisy at night due to pub next door, a little expensive for the room and facilities in hotel but i guess the price matches the location of hotel |

Location is lively, close to the train station and to the red light destrict. I did not like the fact that I paid 3% more just because I used a credit card. Also the fact that the toilet was outside of the room (although it was personal with a key), however I understand that it's difficult for the hotel to change this. |

cheap and cheerful. The front rooms though lovely overlooking the canal, can get noisey at night..particularly the ones on the first floor. As the hotel is quite dated, i liked the fact that the bed sheets were all white, they looked and were clean, which was comforting. My room was also very clean. its just on the perifery of the red light district, and that brings its own problems and people into the area. However, if you are a single traveller, there are plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants within a very close walking distance. |

Central location, friendly staff. Room was shabby & dirty. No light bulbs in the room. Bathroom was freezing and shower very poor. Bed was 2 singles pushed together and uncomfortable as they came apart through the night. Overpriced considering. |
