good location, quiet, helpful staff, last breakfast on request (early check-out) delivered in the evening, good wi-fi
steep steps, hard pillows, not cheap
Great location close to Dam Square.
This was not a problem for me but there is a very long flight of steep stairs that would be very difficult for someone with heavy luggage or bad knees! The room was small but very neat and comfortable beds with nice fluffy down comforters.
Quite central, clean room, adequate breakfast served in room.
Lots of stairs to reach reception and rooms
I liked the staff...nice and helpful. The location is great. wifi works in the room. possibility to leave your bag on your last day. I will stay there again, great place overall!
Too expensive for what it is (very small room for 75€ / night). The breakfast isnt good and the walls are a bit thin so it is a bit noisy in the morning. Bed just under window so the sunlight will wake you up early...
Blackout curtains and a deck leading onto the street.
Very steep steps but this could be the same in other hotels. The room had been square but is now an l shape since they built a coffin like bathroom in the corner. Just horrible with 3 people sharing one bathroom. Tiniest beds I've slept in, awful pillows, no air con or fan. It was horrible. Worst hotel for the money out of 50 hotels I've stayed in around Europe. Breakfast is weird and served in your room - boiled eggs and bread yuck!
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location and good value for money.
The staircase, after long day out, specially if you staying on the top floor.....Not easy at all!!!
Breakfast delivered to room.Location.Good sized room.
Friendly staff and location was great
Small rooms and bathrooms Stairs were incredibley steep Breakfast was very average
Its fabulous location and the staff were sincerely warm. The basic breakfast is excellent enough to be breakfast of champions (Dutch style). The hotel is near Anne Frank's house, Tulip Museum, the breath taking scenic canals.
Very steep stairs, one wrong step: imagine broken bones and finding yourself lying down like a broken Marionette at the bottom of the stairs. The room is full of fibre dust
The hotel is about 5 minutes walking from the Dam square and very close to all of the touristic attractions. The bulding is old but traditional and very clean.
There was not internet access and the breakfast was poor.
The staff is attencious and polite. The bedroom didn't have a view to the street... but was even better... because there was no noise.
The breakfast is really poor and I don't like the fact to be served in the bedroom (they don't have a space to serve the breakfast). The stairs are terrible to carry the bags. But a guy from the hotel helped when we arrived.
Perfect location for visiting the city. Staff very kind and helpful. The kettle in the room is very useful, you can have tea or coffee whenever you want.
The quality of breakfast could be largely improved.
Perfect location, friendly staff, clean and tidy... By the way, liked the stairs - good training ;)
Nothing important to be mentioned.
- The location, next to Dam Square. - Staff and manager are very nice people and helps. - The breakfast, each morning, brought up to the room. - The beverage machine in the hotel with fair price. - Nice balcony in smoking rooms.
- Little room - Poor Wi-Fi connection. - You have to pay each day to use the safe-box.
Great location and pretty cheap
Don't get the breakfast.
Location, staff and value,
If you have mobility issues give it a miss due to the stairs and small room, otherwise perfectly fine.
we have to reserve this hotel , because 85 % of amsterdam hotels was full in 25 july , i did not know about stairs , their is no elevator , our room was in third floor , 75 stair , i never recommended for old peoples and who have heavy luggage.
Location superb. Breakfast excellent. Room cleaned every day and very comfortable bed. Shower was wonderful with hot water. Enjoyed steep steps , but hey its Amsterdam. The most memorable part of my stay at this hotel is Mr Marco who is such a wonderful, kind and generous human being. You can ask anything more to Marco and he is there to help you. Believe me or not , I there was a sad message from my wife when I was out of hotel and when returned Marco gave me the message and guess what ? he gave me the phone and said you can call wherever you want. And he did not charge me anything for those few minutes which is very difficult to come across in this time. My very special thanks to Mr Marco who made my stay wonderful and will definitely returned to this hotel for sure.
There was nothing that I did not like at all.....all positive if you think positive.
Smelly and cramped!
The stairs I would not have stayed there if the hotel person didn't carry my case up ! I was not going to stay! If I had known there wer all those stairs, travelling on my own I will need to be better informed of facilities, the room was a box!
I like the location of it as well as the view from windows.
The stairs from the entrance is really really a challenge, too steep for those who don't get used to Netherlands house.
The staff were friendly and polite. Loved the old building, with high ceilings and large windows. Our family room faced the back so it was nice and quiet. Easy walk to centre town, with many restaurants nearby. Longer walk to train station, but still doable. Very hot water in shower. Breakfast served to our room.
This hotel is not suitable for those who are mobility-challenged or in poor health; the stairs are steep and plentiful!
staff is ok
many stairs and very dangerous to climb the stairs to your hotel room, room size very small, they charged from my debit card without my permission while the website said they will not charge my card and i will have to pay cash at the property
Place very small. Breakfast was served in the room, and was fine. Bathroom was kinda weird, in that the shower wasn't separate.
This had really steep stairs. This is standard for the age of this building, but it was an "experience" bringing up and down the luggage. Parking was a challenge and costly.
