Its have a lot of stairs to climbed.... And the the space is quite narrow...
The owner was nice and fast wifi
The widows were drafty... the curtains moved when the wind blew outside. It could be cold in winter. Walls are quite thin with not much acoustic privacy between the next room.
As a place to stay, the hotel provides good basic accommodation... It is well located, well kept, and the staff is very accommodating. Whether or not you like the hotel will depend on what type of traveller you are. If you are happy with a minimalist very small room with comfortable bed, good shower, and separate toilet, you will enjoy staying here. If you are looking for anything in the way of 'luxury' accommodation, you should look elsewhere. Breakfast is also basic, served in room, with enough bread, butter, meat, cheese, and preserves to make a good sandwich, plus some fruit juice and yogurt. You make your own coffee. There have been a lot of comments on the stairs, yes they are quite steep and narrow (there is no lift).... There are 20 steps to a small first landing, then another 18 to the hotel office. From there it is up another 20 or so steps between floors to go up to your room. If you are fit, adventurous, and want to experience a small Dutch hotel, consider trying.
Well, the stairs are like a cliff.....for those guys with a big luggage it could be a big problem.
nice staff and a good location.
The breakfast in the Room
Was overcharged for some reason. I paid cash for the final night, yet I was charged a cancellation fee afterwards as well
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, personal shower, good view from top floor.
Very good location and nice staff
with amazing people. just stay.
Internet connection could be more stable.
The thing I love the most is the fact that this property is not pretentious. Offer great location, minutes walking from Dam Square....staff extremely friendly, clean rooms. Even though I use to stay in 3-4* properties at least, I have nothing to complain on this property. All in all, perfect value for money.
The stairs were a pain but they the young guy who works there helped me move my luggage upstairs. Kudos to him. Heavy baggage may be a problem.
Excellent location, excellent staff and free wiki.
Steep stairs hard attend of a busy day
Sam in reception was very friendly and helpful very clean room
Everything was as advertised. I am totally happy with my stay.
I love the steep stairs, the sash windows - it is Amsterdam. I loved sitting at the window watching the world go by. Tea/coffee making facilities in room.
bit small for 5 people
Staff is very friendly, second time for us in their hotel, in the same room. Perfect for a group of youngsters for a couple of days.
The staff were awesome and the location ideal. Also it was excellent value for money. We had a brilliant time! And came back home a little bit fitter after all the steep stairs :)
You have to climb those stairs man ;)
Perfect location & best price
Bathroom drain smelt moderately bad, had to keep the door closed. Cleaning lady needs to knock before entering. The stairs are fairly normal for Amsterdam - if you have a mobility issue than in Amsterdam you will really need to book somewhere with a lift.
Compact but very functional room - lots of useful things. Excellent fast wifi. Would definitely stay again despite the negatives.
Staff members are super friendly and willing to give you tips and suggestions about everything.
The steep stairs. Very small room and the smell of cigarettes from the next room was overwhelming.
The breakfast could be better but it was nice.
The location is great! No noise during the night. No smooking at the hotel
there was some work in the street all night !!! They were working on the tramway tracks (grinding, drilling). The hotel has no double-glazed windows so the noise kept us awake all night, and when I say noise it was really loud. Couldn't get a refund.
- location in center - breakfast in the bedroom - balcony - staff friendly Be aware that the stairways are long, narrow and at a steeper angle. There is no lift. So no big luggage.
The stairs are horrendous and the breakfast in bed was bread with cheese.
Staff were lovely and let us keep our luggage in the office as we checked out At 11 am and flight wasn't until 8pm
crasy stairs %) small room
wifi, staff, location (close to all facilities, supermarket in the next building, anna frank house and dam square just in 5 min walking), nice breakfast in room
booked double/twin but toilet was outside and shared, instead of private and en suite as per booking The main problem were the insects, pretty sure bedbugs, at least the guy at reception admitted that I killed about 20 bedbugs but couldn't offer any solution!! they didn't provide a room in the hotel or elsewhere else and they didn't even offer a refund. Only stupid excuses, insect yes they were in my bedroom but they didn't come from the hotel but form outside or it's "normal" is the period of the year... could you believe that?!?!
Very friendly family run hotel. Some steep stairs to be aware of but very comfortable, good location at a good price.
