In one word - Service. Staff would do their outmost to see that you are comfertable and to attend to any of your needs. I had a very pleasant feeling staying there. The intenet connection, although it was free, wasn't so great. |

Particularly the welcome and the helpfulness of the owner and staff. My room was a small double at the rear of the hotel - for the sake of quietness - for which I was charged the single room rate . |

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Zandbergen. Attention to detail, small but perfectly arranged twin bedroom, incredibly modern and clean small bathroom. Henk and his team helped us with laundry through getting best priced tickets for events and transportation. Great breakfast! |

This hotel is in an excellent location in a quiet, relaxed part of Amsterdam but still in easy reach of the city's main sites. Trams are located nearby. It is not a luxury hotel but very comfortable with excellent staff to assist in any aspect of your stay. I felt very comfortable here and highly recommend it. |

Recommendations of local restaurants was excellent. Vicious spiral staircase which was a killer and dangerous when struggling with a heavy case. |

We had a great experience. Everyone was very nice and the breaksfast was great. I would highly recommend. The stairs were steep, but that is part of the charm of the Netherlands. |

Good quality price, nice bedroom with balcony. Quite far from city center. Breakfast is ok, but nothing special and no variety. As for the breakfast room, it's very small and we had to queue till one of the tables was free. |

Very friendly staff, always ready to meet your needs. The hotel is close to the tram station and you can also walk to the center-very good position. Very narrow stairs, but this is the case of many hotels in Amsterdam. |

The room and bathroom were small, but they were clean and had everything one could ask for after a long trip or a day of sightseeing. The room also had a minibar and a nice small balcony. The bathroom was packed with a lot of nice things like single use facetowels and body lotion. The wardrobe had a big mirror on the door, which was very useful. And of course, the staff was friendly, made coffee or tea for everyone at breakfast and offered advice regarding the city and places of interest. A plus was the multitude of minicards that were placed in the hallway, with discounts at various museums, boat-tours and even restaurants. We saved for example 5 euros when visiting the historical museum. All in all, a nice, decent 3 stars hotel. Well, I could complain about the size of the room and the steep stairs, but we knew of that in advance and apparently it is a common feature for Amsterdams old buildings. |

The staff was very friendly and ready to help. On arrival the shower room smelled bad, shower curtain wasn't clean. The location of the hotel is not very comfortable if you like to walk -- it's qiute far from the center... |

Our host was always happy and very welcoming. He made you feel at home. The rooms are well in size and modern, simple, clean. It is a great location in a beautiful wealthy neighborhood not far from rest of amsterdam. The hotel offers the service to sell you Van Gogh and metro tickets. Inexpensive parking facilities two tram stops away. |
