This was our second visit and we found the hotel maintained the same superior standards and service as during our previous visit one year ago. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful and worked quickly and efficiently to resolve any concerns that we had. We ate the extensive Norwegian buffet breakfast each morning that was included in our room rate. The hotel offers waffles for guests in the late afternoon, something we never had a chance to sample as we were busy sight-seeing.

We liked everything about the Augustin hotel. The location is very convenient for exploring Bergen, so close to the Harbour and main sights. The Hotel is not part of a chain but is family run which is evident in small extra touches. Staff warm and very helpful, bar and restaurant both atmospheric and good, tea coffee newspapers available at all times in a very comfortable lounge. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This hotel presented a calm, spacious, clean and nicely designed room where I could well prepare my work during the stay in the city, profiting from the reliable high-speed wifi. Its location is perfect, calm streets but everything in easy walking distance, including a stop of the airport bus. The service was completed by several other positive details, most notably a friendly 24h reception, and a delicious Norwegian breakfast. Before booking I noticed that this hotel was only ~20% more expensive than hotels with frequent reports about noisy ground floor bars, rare room service and run-down installations. I thank the booking.com users who wrote these clear comments. The Augustin hotel is the opposite, and the stay was worth its money. Unfortunately it is already sold out for the time of my next planned trip to Bergen!

Its location is super-excellent, cannot be better actually. It is walking distance from the major attractions in Bergen: the aquarium, Bryggen, Floibanen, Bergenhus castle and furthermore just 200m from the quay from where the Fjord boats leave. Ideal for a short stop 1-2 days) to continue the journey into the Sognefjord. Breakfast is good but could be better. They are also a bit too fussy on not allowing residents to take some breakfast items to the room. We only wanted a piece of bread with butter for the child since children generally get hungry later and they did not allow us.

The staff were pleasant and accomodating. The hotel is centrally located near the harbor. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and there was a decent spread. Not really anything to complain about - room adequate but not large, ditto for bathroom, elevators small.

Hotel is in an excellent position in Bergen. The staff were very friendly. There was free wifi in reception and we appreciated the free tea and coffee in reception. My husband and I stayed here during a city trip to Bergen, and we really enjoyed it. All the staff speak excellent English, which was extremely helpful. The hotel breakfast was very nice, and having it included with our room saved us tons of money (eating in Bergen is crazy expensive). Also, they offer free pancakes with coffee and hot tea in the lobby every night between 4pm and 7pm, which we ate as dinner, further saving us money. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was really nice (the shower was fantastic!). The Augustin is located on the opposite side of the port from Bryggen, and was an easy 10 minute walk from almost all the sites in town. Highly recommended! If you're not interested in the World Heritage sites located in Bergen but want to do more nature-related activities (I.E. fjord-seeing, kayaking, hiking, etc.), you might be happier basing out of Voss and taking the hour-long train ride into Bergen to sight-see for a day. The fjord activities are either based out of Voss or much easier to reach starting from there. Bergen has several wonderful museums and Viking sites and is great to walk around, but my husband and I were more interested in the fjords, so Bergen wasn't the best base for us.

Comfortable and clean room. Fantastic breakfast and great location. On the penultimate day of my stay the room was not cleaned (possibly because I was in it when the cleaning staff came round?).

Location. Norway is horribly expensive and this hotel is no exception. Nothing wrong with it, except for the price which is at least double to what one would get charged for a similar hotel anywhere else in Europe, even in neighbouring Sweden.

The staff were great. The location is very good, but the city is so small that everything is close to any hotel. The breakfast is very good. The room is old and dark despite you turn on all lights inside. Two single beds are joinning to make a couple bed. The bathroom works and thats all.

Very convenient location, close to the waterfront. It is not in the middle of the tourist area, which makes it quieter, but the fish market and the Bryggen tourist areas are only about a 10 minute walk away. No air conditioning in rooms. We stayed there in early August, and the weather was quite hot. We had to prop the windows open with drink bottles to get reasonable ventilation, but it was still too hot to be truly comfortable. Free WiFi is promised for all rooms in the hotel, however none of our phones or computers could connect in our room. We had to go to the guest lounge near reception to get WiFi to work.
