Staff er the best specially the one who work on afternoon on last Thursday
The staff were very helpful when it came to locating the most economical parking for our hire car, as well as advising about some interesting local places to visit, like colour street and old Stavangar. Very friendly and helpful.
There was no on-sight parking available.
The staff at the hotel were so polite and we had the most wonderful welcome by Espen who was front of house. He was extremely helpful with directions, places to eat and things to see. The hotel is ideally located, clean and tidy. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
Over the weekend it can be a little noisy with people walking past if you are situated in a room at the front of the hotel.
Efficient and friendly staff
Room needs attention: sofa was cut (ripped?) open, one of the plastic hangers was broken, and no apparent temperature controller.
Staff were very friendly. Hotel located at the center of everything.
Cozy clean room, maybe a bit small ,but reasonable for a couple, friendly stuff, good location, in the walking distance of all city attractions, satisfying breakfast. I recommend the place
- location - easyness for checkin/checkout - quality of mattress (very good sleep)
- room might need a bit of update?
Location was very good
no air conditioning so room was very stuffy as the temperature outside was in the 30s
Big and clean room, comfortable bed, very good location, fresh and tasty breakfast, "just" a three star hotel, but I have been few 4 star hotel what is worst than Best Western Havly, I really enjoy the time there, I will choose again this hotel
Everything was fine
Close to city center and within walking distance of piers and restaurants. Not on the main street so a little quieter at night. Breakfast had a good variety of things to choose from. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and information on buses and things to do. Since everything costs more in Norway, the hotel is still a good value for the money.
helpful and friendly staffs! well managed hotel.
Noisy on a saturday night
Location is good. It is in walking to most of the attractions.
EVERYTHING, EVEN SUGGESTION OF VISITING A LOCAL RESTAURANT
LILLE HOTEL STAVANGER, WHICH I MADE MY FIRST BOOKING, THE 1ST NIGHT RAINED AND THE MANAGER SAID, "IS UP TO YOU". TYPICAL FORM A PERSON THAT ONLY TAKES CARE FOR COUPLE OF KRONES, INSTEAD OF CLIENT. BEST WESTERN IS THE OPPOSITE. VISIT IT WITHOUT HESITATION
Absolutely lovely hotel. I came directly from a walk to Preikestolen (The Pulpit) and was dead tired. To get a shower, lay down on the bed and watch World Cup football in Brazil was absolutely perfect. And the WiFi connection for my MacBook Air was great: high speed and no problems. Breakfast next morning was good, if not outstanding. Short walking distance to the railway station was a great plus.
Nothing, really. I really appreciated the hotel and enjoyed my time there.
staff very helpful good central position good breakfast clean and tidy
noisy outside revellers when trying to sleep
The staff are very friendly and helpful, in giving information (esp. Anna). Have very good breakfast.
I stayed 3 nights 4 days. I cannot get access to my room due to problems with electronic card from the second day till my departure. Have to reactivate the room card.
You might hear your neighbour
Fairly basic hotel.
Very nice breakfast room, almost felt like a library: I really enjoyed reading some magazines after breakfast. Supercomfortable bed. Perfect location, within a 5-minute walk from the ferry to Tau (for Preikestolen) and Gamle Stavanger.
the staff were very positive, friends and helpful. No problem checking in early even though I hadn't scheduled it, and no problem for late check-out/bag storage even though I hadn't scheduled it prior. It seemed to me that if they were busy, the late checkout would have had to have been scheduled earlier, but it wasnt as busy so they were happy to accommodate. The location was perfect. two minutes away from the large mall, the petroleum museum, the strip of pubs/night life and the old town. It was literally in the centre of town and all means of transportation were within a short walk. The continental breakfast was awesome. Fresh bread, cereal, hard and soft boiled and scrambled eggs, all the norwegian specialties such as rye crisps and the Ost tubes, all the toppings for open faced sandwiches common in norway along with an assortment of jams, cheeses, lunch meat, shrimp spread, etc. additionally there was yogurt, a variety of milk and juices, fruit salad and an assortment of coffee and tea. Excellent continental breakfast by any standards. And staff were consistently filling empty items until the breakfast hours were over.
the night club outside made for a couple noisy evenings. If you were on the opposite side of the building, this wouldn't have been a problem.
Excellent location. Good value
Noise insulation is very poor, can hear noise on the road whole night. Tough to sleep. Curtains are not thick enough for Norway at nights in summers.
Had a great time during my stay. I really like the whole vibe and feel of the Havly Hotel. Enjoyed the free drinks in the lobby. Fantastic quality beverages! Nothing beats the location. It's a block away from the beautiful Vågen harbor, right where there are so many nice shops and cafe's, yet it's on a quiet street tucked away by itself. I would absolutely stay here again, and would look forward to doing so!
