All staff were friendly bur professional. The bed was exceptionally comfy so had two of the best nights sleep for quite a while! Food was all delicious and served swiftly and stylishly. The location is fantastic, easy walk to the Express Train station and close to everything you want to see.
Mini bar would not open for the whole 3 days I was there despite asking for it to be fixed on 4 occasions it was not. This meant I had to ask for water to brought up by room service which was inconvenient and frankly a bit silly. Small thing i suppose but irritating.
Quaint, lovely building. Perfect location for visiting city attractions. Delicious breakfast with many choices.
Excellent position, one block back from the main boulevard, museums and close to the trams and metro so easy to reach everywhere in Oslo. Walking around Oslo is very easy too. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Comfortable bed, very quiet room (at the rear), good hot shower, and good TV service. Really big breakfast spread. Note this hotel has quite an old style and caters for coach tours which may not be to everyones liking, but the service was always excellent and the clientel thoughtful. I would stay again.
Really interesting building and very relaxing atmosphere. Excellent room quality. Meals excellent. Superb central Oslo location. Also really convenient location for airport express bus stop.
Wi-fi kept dropping out in bedroom - but still useable.
An excellent small hotel to stay in great location in a quiet area
a perfect base for 4 days in oslo with easy access to museums, sculpture parks, cafes, restaurants and the opera house. quiet room. excellent breakfasts.
The Bristol is in a great postion, the Flybussen service to and from the airport is a few metres away, it's a lovely drive and much cheaper than the train. You can book online or get a ticket from the driver, do not get a taxi it is around £100 one way! The hotel staff were very welcoming and although this is a stylish hotel with lots of history it is very relaxed. We felt comfortable right away. Our room was excellent, we had a standard double. Our room was decorated to a high standard with a very comfortable bed, my husband slept very well which is unusual for him, he never settles well in a strange bed and is fussy at home regarding pillows..so well done Hotel Bristol! The bath was a good size with plenty of hot water, there was also a powerful in bath shower. Our room was cleaned daily by the housekeeping staff who were always friendly. We had breakfast included which was an excellent buffet style affair with a great choice of hot and cold dishes. The restaurant staff were wonderful , making sure you had everything you wanted, always keeping your coffee cup filled. We only had a 5 min walk down to pier 3 where we got the ferry across to all the museums, this was very reasonable and the museums good value for money. I have difficulty walking but the stroll down to the pier was fine and once there you can always jump on a tram or the jump on/off tour bus that will let you see much more of Oslo at a reasonable price. As for eating out, avoid the chain restaurants like the plague, expensive and crowded! We walked round the block from the hotel to an amazing little restaurant, Elias mat & saant where they serve traditional food, it gets busy so either go early or book. The food was fantastic and not a bad price for Oslo...We are still in shock at how expensive this city is. There are a few nice places to eat around this area and are all a lot cheaper than TGI Fridays and the like.
No complaints about the hotel at all. However.....£10 for a big mac meal! Take plenty of money and a bit extra just in case!
Charming hotel off a lost era, Great location for all amenities You can walk too most within 15 min. On a quiet street
I needed a harder pillow all were soft but other than that Great Place to stay
Breakfast. Comfortable beds. Quiet. Good position.
It is a really big and busy hotel - bit like being on a big ship - but everything works well. Rooms are small.
The staff were helpful, polite, and spoke English. The room was large, airy, well ventilated and had a great balcony feature. The breakfast was varied, well stocked and the staff helpful. The furnishings were superb and the public areas clean, well decorated and oozed charm and elegance. Check out was no problem and we felt really at home. The bar and snacks were fairly priced and you could enjoy it whilst taking your time. No pressure and help to make choices when needed. All in all a very good place to stay.
Excellent location, nice spacious and clean room, really yummy breakfast!!
The location is great - close to the harbour and attractions. Breakfast is good.
The best rooms all overlook a busy road making sleep on a weekend almost impossible. Although the staff sorted this, it took some effort on our part. The wireless coverage is patchy.
Excellent interior Value for money Comfortable bed Friendly staff
Would have appreciated tea making facilities
Wonderful old world feel; library bar; Bristol Grill. Excellent location. Nice and helpful staff.
We had a great stay at the Hotel Bristol in Oslo. It was a perfect location, very comfortable, fabulous breakfasts, wonderful and helpful staff. We stayed there two different times and the hotel went out of their way to make us comfortable...even stored our luggage while we travelled through Norway. Such a great value...a rare occurrence in Norway! I highly recommend.
I loved everything!
breakfast room excellent intimate atmosphere live piano music
high parking cost (in house) uninterested piano player
The lobby and breakfast rooms are beautifully furnished with dark wood, chandeliers, artworks, and ornate carpets. The bedroom was large with comfortable beds and a perfectly clean, tiled bathroom. The staff is friendly and welcoming--even the cleaning staff people were friendly. The location is close to public transportation and an easy walk to some of Oslo's best tourist sites, shopping, and restaurants.
We had two modest-sized, non-alcoholic drinks from the bar that came to about $20. A high price for quenching our thirst!
One of men behind checkin counter was especially and repeatedly helpful, and the entire visit was A+
Air conditioning would be nice, but that's hardly news
Excellent furnishings and environment. Great breakfast. Comfortable room. Perfect location near everything including train station; parks, restaurants etc. It has a bar and cafe so can get food and drink any time. Very nice staff.
They decided to steam clean the carpet in the hall from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm. Our room was very quiet but the steam cleaning was very noisy and we were unable to sleep. Couldn't this have been done during the day time?
Ferry to viking ship museum. pedestrian streets,
A/C not working but we got a room change then checked ot a day early
The building was very old with beautiful woodwork. If you enjoy old architecture You'll enjoy the Bristol. Of course very old things are not pristine. That was fine with me but something to understand before going. The lobby & bar are wonderful. Great breakfast included. Hotel is in a downtown Oslo. Perfect location. Our rooms were not noisy .
Not a hotel with lots of modern amenities. The shower was small. Not much counter space in the bathroom. No washcloth like many european hotels. Mattresses all over Norway are very thin. Double beds are 2 singles pushed together, everywhere.
Room was spacious and the beds were really comfortable. The location excellent. Central but not noisy.
A bit noisy from pipes or works being done on the first 2 mornings, between 7.30 - 9.30.
Great breakfast, nespresso coffee machine, high end toiletries, apples
Need to walk with luggage if on 7. Staff not offering to help with luggage. Rooms stuffy
Location, breakfast, ambiance.
Room size and no guest clothes washer/drier
Excellent breakfast. Staff very helpful. However, no aircon Not much bathroom amenities...
