Location. Breakfast. Close to everything. Very helpful staff. Gorgeous rooms. Just a bit noisy but overall a great experience. Thank you!
Great breakfast! We loved the organic everything. The staff is friendly and helpfull. Cozy room :) We enjoyed it & definately will come back here next trip.
The big bed has a hard devider in the middle. It looks very soft, but you can't sleep on it and have to stay on 'your own' half.
Bedroom style and contents made you realise someone had tried really hard to make you feel special during your stay. The spa was an indulgent surprise. Breakfast efficient, plentiful and tasty. Very helpful staff.
The styling of the room!
The room was a bit til small, but very nice.
nice spa, tasty breakfast, good coffee, placed in the city centre
small rooms, really tight bathroom, no hairdryer, very thin, bad towels
Friendly staff, great facilities and the breakfast was delicious.
The breakfast was fantastic; I will dream about those cheeses. Also, the staff were really helpful.
I wanted to love Carlton Guldsmeden but found certain aspects of the accommodation too impractical for me to want to return. First of all, the bed: it looks great, a four-poster with draped fabrics and dried flowers -- and two single duvets. What?? I asked at the front desk and they do not have any double bedding --you sleep together but alone. In any case, there is a ridge down the middle of the bed. Then, the light, or lack thereof. We had a nice-looking room with a separate bedroom and living room. The living room had a desk lamp and a dimly glowing floor lamp. I couldn't see anything while I sat on the sofa. I asked at the front desk and they obligingly brought me... another glowing floor lamp, which made no difference. So, to read or snack or anything, I had to be seated at the desk instead of sitting on the sofa, which made the living room kind of pointless. Lastly, the TV is on the bedroom wall and not in the living room. I just wanted to sit on the sofa and get caught up on the news, but that was out of the question --for that, I had to be in bed, and I don't have the habit of watching TV in bed. In short, although the breakfast was delicious and the staff sweet, I will not stay here again. My needs are simple: a functional double bed with a lamp that illuminates; is that too much to ask?
The staff was more than very helpful The Norway style deco Good breakfast
Room is tiny but enough for a short stay
Very good room, comfortable and functional at the same time. Staff all very welcoming and friendly, spoke excellent English. Good breakfast. Nice location.
duvet was too hot, bit of a squeeze to get in to bed
The style and decor of the hotel was cosy and pretty. The spa was beautiful and peaceful if alone. Loved the complimentary mud masks and body scrubs. The location was good for aker Brygge and easy to hop on a bus or tram - 5-10mins into the city centre, 15mins into Grunerlokka. Breakfast was delicious, organic, healthy food. Huge choice, lovely young man with great service running the whole show. Brilliant timings from 7-11! Don't have to get up too early. Four poster bed and lighting in the room.
The bathroom was tiny for what we paid. Smaller than when we stayed in Citybox which was half the price. The cleaners left a wet rag in our room on the floor. The four poster bed curtains are just for show, you can't actually drape them around the bed. The service behind the front desk was really hit and miss. One woman strongly recommended we dine at the hotel restaurant. When we decided to take this offer up, we found out it was fully booked and we had no chance of dining there! Bit of a silly suggestion. The same lady kindly told us that even though the spa had set opening times, if we wanted to use it at anytime just to give the front desk 1hrs notice so they could get everything ready for us including towels and robes. When we actually went to use the spa, we were told we had to wait until it opened and we had to ask for towels separately and robes once again. Contradictory service. Spa was completely self service. The access keys stopped working at the end of each day so we had to request new access keys everytime we wanted to use it. Although there were herbal teas available I had to ask for hot water everytime I wanted a drink, which took waiting for 10mins each time! Then I had to ask for sugar too.. It was a huge effort and it shouldn't have been. The lady behind the front desk in the evenings was constantly on her personal mobile phone and it was a mess behind reception with makeup, hairbrushes and hairdryer. The handle on the inside of the door in the steam room is completely broken so you can't shut the door properly - end up letting steam out. Rooms not at all soundproof. We were woken every morning by cleaners and luggage from people checking out. Overall a hotel attempting to be high end for its prices. If I hadn't insisted on using the spa everyday of my stay, I would have felt cheated. The hotel succeeded in a few important areas (breakfast, style, spa) but failed heavily in others, mainly due to a certain few staff...
Location was really good - near everything Right by a bus stop - public transport in Oslo is superb Unique hotel Nice room if a little small Helpful staff Good wifi Quiet - slept really well Good value Oslo is FANTASTIC! will stay here again on our next visit Healthy breakfast plus it opened at 06:30
The rooms in Balinese style are very comfortable, spotless clean and quiet. The spa gives you the opportunity to recharge your batteries and the nice breakfast gives you fuel up to tea time.
A little bit less of amenities this time: no slippers and no shaving kit. Not an issue, tough.
good location, good room, good breakfast. Good environmental politics.
Food Ambiance Spa
Wow - where to start. Entrance area very worn out/tired. Check in is at the bar - desk grumpy. Not enough tables at breakfast on both mornings so sat in 'lobby' w breakfast. Rooms v tiny. Barely able to turn around in mine! Bathroom w shower only, so tiny and frankly dirty sink and shower. An Eco hotel, but beginning w towels, give guests real towels, not rough tea towels! Soap is liquid so must take into shower. No phones in room, so must use mob to contact 'desk' or go downstairs. No heat control in room, so chilly. Location is fine if you have NO suitcase, but quite a haul from Nat Theatre station if you do. Would not stay here again.
Everything except the size of restroom is excelent.
Very small restroom, with sink almost over the toilet.
Friendly staff..comfortable beds..good location..breakfast good..quaint location
spa area not stocked with products one night and dry sauna not hot enough..although a very nice amenity for the hotel when complete..view looking directly at apartment windows
service and price
I thought the hotel was fantastic, with so many cute, quirky features. The breakfast was delicious too!
Liked the organic focus - it was a different type of stay but did all the basics really well. And it was right near the office.
The room is really small. But then again, when you're traveling for business and only use the room to sleep in and work on your laptop, it was totally fine.
Very helpful staff.
Room a bit too small, especially the bathroom.
90% organic!!! the breakfast buffet was good.
We really enjoyed the City Hall and area around there as well as the sculpture park.
Costs in Oslo are almost prohibitive.
the decor in room and all through hotel was unique and inviting. The linens & complimentary toiletries were top quality. Complimentary breakfast was very generous, creative, delicious. The staff was especially friendly and helpful.
the standard double was really small though good use of the space.
