Location and self catering facility. Kitchen could be better equiped and broom and dust pan should be provided in the apartment as well as more than 1 tea towel

It had a kitchenette equipped with everything to cook easy meals. Great in Norway, where things are so expensive. It did not feel like a regular hotel, but kind of an apartment studio. It was quiet. I liked everything, I wished they had emergency sewing kits, which I needed.

Location was really convenient to the main shopping street in Tromso. It's also just across the street from the other hotel where you can take the flybussen (airport bus) to the airport. Standard room was big and spacious. Really liked that there was a stove inside the room for you to cook, because Norway is such an expensive country. Staff were really helpful and friendly too! :) Shower cubicle could be bigger as the toilet was quite spacious. :)

I spent five days in Tromsø during the winter solstice 2012 and this was a fantastic holiday! I can't say enough about that wonderful town and its people. With regard to the City Living hotel, my favourite feature was its central location, as it was very close to the main shopping street, public transport, harbour, supermarket, library, and other useful and interesting places. I also liked its friendly and professional staff and the fact that my room was very quiet. Having free internet access was a very welcome asset, as I could use my laptop to have instant access to much needed up-to-date information, such as timetables, aurora forecast, etc. This is particularly welcome when you visit the place in the middle of the Arctic winter and can freely surf the net without any worries about a counter ticking away! In addition to insufficient kitchen equipment, the cooker only had two hobs, which were so close to each other that it was almost impossible to use them both at the same time. As a result cooking a proper meal was quite a demanding task. I was a solo traveller and booked a single room. Obviously I had a single bed, but unfortunately it was quite small.

Well, Norway is veeeery expensive, so you can not expecting low prices. There is nothing cheap, hotels, food, trips, gifts will easily empty your wallet. But in such conditions City Living Hotel is more than great deal. Well arranged room, free wifi, comfort bed, bathroom with floor heating. Equipped kitchenette will reduce money for food. Easy access to airport with flybussen (SAS airport bus). Stuff very friendly and helpful. For sure will stay again if come to Tromso once more.

Informative, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable apartment with a very cosy bedroom and well-heated bathroom. Great location and price. The welcome book in our room was tatty and had body hair in it! That was the one and only thing I didn't like...!

A little bit of salt and pepper as well as sugar and milk would be nice to have - after all tea and coffee is supplied. But most of all lack of microwave oven is painful. I come to Tromso for three days and get easy food, so warming it up is essential. Stove doesn't do the job, because food I get is prepacked.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at city living. The location was great, only a very short walk to the airport bus stop and shops. The room was a good size and the kitchenette although basic was great and reduced our costs significantly as eating out is very expensive. The under floor heating in the bathroom was a bit of a treat. Room was clean and although wasnt cleaned during our stay was not a problem for us. Bed was not especially comfortable though fine. We were in a room next to the lift which you could hear during the night.

Liked that we could relax in room and cook our own food as Norway/tromso is not the cheapest place! The location was great and right by the bus stop for getting to the airport.

Really liked having the hob and fridge so we were able to eat in. The food in restaurants is very expensive ( £35 for a pizza and a coke) so this made the trip a lot more budget friendly. The hotel is only a couple of streets from pretty much everything and was very quiet. Nice warm room with underfloor heating in bathroom and two adjustable heaters in the room. We had a twin room and the beds were literally right next to each other so we may as well have had a double. Didn't bother us but could see other people wanting a twin not liking it as you couldn't change the position of the beds either.

Perfect setting - very central. The apartment is modern, simple and perfectly kitted out to give flexibility for any traveller. Very comfortable and pleasant to stay in. Big picture windows as well that open properly - perfect for sky watching for Northern Lights trips (got some great photos from those windows) We also had a very friendly and helpful greating on arrival - highly recommended. Nothing really. A microwave would have been a nice to have - Norway's pricey, so you may find the need to cook for yourself.

Very good value for Tromso. At around $150 USD for a studio its excellent. The abilty to be able to cook simple meals is a real help. The buffet breakfast across the street, all you can eat, is pretty good at $14 per person. The inital lacl of pillows on the bed, only one. However, this was quickly rectified by the excellent front desk staff.

The cooking facilities within the rooms was the main reason we chose the City Living Apartments in Tromso. The food shops are just down the street and City Living is parallel to the main Storgata shopping street which meant we could go back to have lunch or drop off shopping. The rooms were very comfortable and we would definitely stay there again. It is perfect to be able to have your own meals whenever you want. The internet was free, you just had to get a separate code at the desk for each device you wanted to use them on. There is a secure card access entrance and also the card is needed to take the elevator up to the floors. You have controls on the heater in the room and it heats up immediately Just make sure your room doors are locked as they don't seem to lock automatically upon closing. We had to turn the lock on the inside on then off and then the doors locked from the outside.
