Clarion Hotel Admiral  

The Clarion met all our expectations as we have viewed it from the outside on previous trips to Bergen. We would stay again and recommend it. Our room had eently been renovated and the view was magnificent.

Location. Kindness from staff.

A bit complicated finding around, the floors like a maze! Great differencies in standard of the rooms. First room most definite in need to be upgraded. Multiple tears in the carpet. Cigarette burns in one of the chairs. After change we got a much nicer room.

Good location and lovely breakfast in a delight room with a view.

Although single rooms cost nearly as much as a double, the size was very much smaller. Hardly room to move. Cost per head is therefore hugely penalizing for single travellers.

The bed was hard. Pillows too big.

Although the Hotel was almost empty, an upgrade with (the expected port view) was too much too ask

Loved the breakfast, great location for seeing the city highlights and great staff.

Excellent location on the harbor just across from the Bryggen. Nice views; comfortable room. Large bathroom with plenty of hot water and a good shower. Ask for a room on the harborfront. Beautiful view and good air flow in the room. Both a window and a door to a small balcony. Entire hotel is non smoking. Close to the ferry landing and most other sights of interest. Excellent breakfasts and breakfast room.

Front desk unhelpful and disorganized. Nearby construction made getting anywhere confusing. Ferry engines noisy at 8 AM. Also smelly when they are at dock with engine running.

One of most beautiful view of Bergen ! We have one single and one double room for two nights Close of all attractions of this wonderful city. Regular breakfast, not big rooms. Nice staff , fast check in and check out.

For this high price expect very good conditions . It isn't ! Every morning at 8.30-9.00 one lady want to entry in the rooms . I don't know why ( minibar, housekeeping ? ) . Until 16.30 rooms was empty and nobody made clean. Around 17.00 somebody put outside the door one bag with towels. No clean rooms, no clean bathrooms, no change linens. Very low light in rooms . In every norvegian hotels it is possible to have a umbrella, but here no ! Of course these are details but for a network like Clarion make difference ! And I think this is motivation for 7.8 points on Internet booking.com in opposition with brand , location and view !

Very central and within easy walking distance of the rail station. Also central to all activities and excellent views of the harbour. Excellent room with a small balcony, looking down at the water below.

The waiting staff at breakfast did not keep the food topped up quickl;y enough and had to be constantly asked by guests to replenish some dishes. Okay once, but became slightly annoying when it had to be done regularly. No free evening buffet, unlike the Clarion Bastion in Oslo and more expensive too.

Advertizing very misleading. Appears much nicer han it actually is. Is definitely not 4 star
