The location of this hotel is great, right next to the harbour, and the main street, the tourist office and a great place that books trips and provides guides for you, sadly that is about it.

My room looked straight into an office complex, and with my lights on they could see straight in too. I would say 2 metre distance away. There was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, despite me leaving the please make my room up tag on the door, it wasn't and when I got in late from the lights desparate for a warm shower I had to call twice and wait 30 mins to get some new towels. The tea and coffee downstairs has to be paid for, most of the other hotels offer complimentary tea, coffee and waffles in the afternoon, not this one, there was also no bath and a funny smell coming from the drain, that I had to leave the shower running for 5 mins before I could manage using the loo or the shower. The staff unlike everywhere else in Norway could not advise me on any trips to take and just gave me a map and pointed me to the tourist office, despite there being an office next door that does tours of dog sledding, northern lights etc ..

Fabulous staff - all of whom were charming and helpful

We switched rooms and upgraded. The initial rooms were very small and looked out onto an immediate neighbouring building. The hotel was being re-furbished at the time of our stay

The location was good and the staff were excellent.

The small size of the room and the lack of space for hanging and storing clothes. One side of the hotel is close to an office block across a narrow street meaning that there is no privacy unless the curtains are closed.

- Staff was excellent at the desk. Had several issues and they helped me fast and gave me full support. They have been friendly and available all time. I appreciated it greatly. - Location was very good and the services (Spa, Jacuzzi) were great. - My room had a very nice view of the library, which I enjoyed. - The hotel is quite modern and I like the design

- Room cleaning service: I stayed 2 nights and the first one my room was not cleaned, just towels were changed. I am not sure if it was just an accident as I saw the service passing around and being efficient. - There were works going on in the entrance, which I don't recall being informed of when I called them. Totally understandable given it was off season. - There was no real wardrobe in my room, even if I was in a standard room.

Friendliest staff in Norway! Ever so helpful and determined to please. The rooftop hot tub and the sauna were superb although the weekend opening times were disappointing (closed at 8pm).Breakfast was good and plentiful (danish pastries to die for -or die of!). Rooms clean, bed comfy and warm. Location, even on NewYear's Eve, was noise-free. Proximity to shops, bus stops and Arctic Exploring tours was great. Not as 'flashy' as other hotels in Tromso but easily the friendliest and most warm hearted. We didn't use the bar or the restaurant -the latter was closed for refurbishment.We did eat in the lobby -excellent food and well presented. Not the most modern or brightest decor but the hot tub/sauna made up for this. Would readily go back tomorrow.

The restaurant was being refurbished which we didn't know about til we got there so breakfast was in the conference room. The sauna was closed at the weekend from 8pm which was disappointing after a long day out dog sledging. The room was a bit cold til we worked out the heating system but then it was good -not enough hanging/drawer space -but we probably packed too much anyway!

This is a great location for enerything in Tromso. The hottub on te roof was the selling point for us and we were not dissapointed.

The house keeping staff did not do the best when cleaning our room each day.

The location is perfect but very expensive compared to its sister hotel

Perfect location for the msm. Good location for all of Tromso. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
