Friendly and helpful staff, lovely buffet breakfast and complementary buffet dinner. Guests also were able to cook waffles for afternoon tea, which was a delicious idea. But it was the whaling memorabilia that were on display throughout the hotel that made our stay particularly interesting in this delightful town. |

A warm, clean, modern, quiet, comfortable hotel in easy reach of Sandefjord's excellent shopping, railway station, bus station, ferry port and Torp airport is only 8km away as well. Breakfast was excellent, as was the (complimentary) evening buffet. The dining area is like a small museum and enables you to understand the historic importance of whaling to the area. The hotel has many areas for the exclusive use of guests, however, one small bar appears to be public as well and I would suggest that this will not suit everyone. |

The hotels buffet facilities morning and evening together with the fun of waffle making in the afternoon meant that we could relax in Norway despite the poor state of the pound. The hotel also had a real character about it due to the rather obsessive interest in whaling - nothing horrible just a part of Norwegian history and presented really well if a little eccentric! It made us smile! |

I paid a discounted price of NOK1150 via booking.com when it was on offer and remember the original price stated the room was around NOK1450. However when I got to the hotel the double room that they offered me was disappointing being small and cluster phobic and didn’t resemble the pictures advertised on the website. Also the room didn’t have a bath although my booking confirmation clearly states the room includes a bath. To add to the disappointment there was no double bed either instead they had two single beds which meant our baby couldn’t sleep with us that night. Anyways the staff were not convinced that I had bought a room that was on offer so we ended up coughing up another NOK200 and upgrading to a room that looked like the one adv |

The accomodation was good, but the desk staff were excellent and its whale theme is informative(I don't agree with it, but they have a different life to mine). They give good value for money and are close to torp airport, so is handy for late arrivals. Whale Theme |

A very pleasant natured staff, nice and friendly and helpfull. I must be very honest with you about the dream some one had about the decor in the hotel,i found it to be dare i say !somewhat tacky, dont take offense please but that hotel didnt need to go so far overboard with the dead whale thing it just didnt need it and i would say further more it would devistate a lot of people around the world who didnt know that the clarion was a shrine to dead whales, the amount of effort spent on designing the whale experience i feel would have been best spent on the upgrade of that nice building, this is only my view on the hotel please dont take offence as everything else was superb. |

The hotel was a nice location from the harbor and the main shopping area. We were served waffles, dinner and breakfast inclusive of the price. The lobby and dining area were nicely decorated with a whaling/shipping theme. We were lucky that are room was ready a bit early so we could unload the luggage from our car before exploring the area the rest of the day. This was one of our favorite hotels along the trip. I would stay here again and ask for a room off the street. We had trouble sleeping because of heat and noise. The day was hot and the sun heated up our room. A ceiling fan to move the air would have helped. The room was noisy as it was a streetside room and the windows had to be open because of the heat. This would not be a problem in the cooler months. |

The dining area was themed which was excellent as it posed to be original to the othet hotals i have stayed in. There was no additonal cosmetics for the shower room and little complementary gifts which i find surprising considering the higher price for the stay. |

As we stayed here only for one night I can not say a lot about the hotel. It is situated comfortably just in 10 min driving from the airport in a very center of Sandefjord not far from the sea cost and a Whale Museum. Breakfast was good enough to be full till diner. Our children enjoyed the decoration of the breakfast room. Furniture seemed to be worn-out. |

Guests enjoy pretty views in addition to free breakfast and Wi-Fi access at this comfortable hotel, which is idyllically situated next to the harbour, just 100 m from central Sandefjord. |
Situated in the small town of Sandefjord, Hotel Kong Carl is housed in a building dating back to 1690 and was awarded the Norwegian Hotel and Restaurant Association’s Hospitality Prize. |
Close to the town centre and train station, this comfortable hotel offers free breakfast and Wi-Fi internet, as well as picturesque balcony views of Larvik's fjord and harbour. |
Enjoying wonderful views of the fjord and facing the harbour, the Thon Hotel Brygga is located in Norway's oldest town, Toensberg. |
