I really liked the cozy atmosphere, and the many details from the earlier "bakery" times.
Atmosphare is very good
Bathroom is in bad condion. Must be upgraded
Much noise from outside during the night. Not Your fault, but could have been less by better isolating .
Waffles in the afternoon, good buffet available in the evening
We needed to use the laundry, but there is only one washer and dryer and the dryer was drying so slow it took us many hours to do three loads of laundry. But that is my only complaint.
The towels had hair on them. The sheet had stains. We traveled with a 3 year old and the noise from the bar across the street made it hard to sleep. Asked for more coffee but the staff answered that they didn't have and didn't know. The front desk staff did not ask if we had a pleasant stay and did not say anything when we told them the room was dirty.
The all inclusive nature of the booking we made which was certainly visitor friendly. We were provided with a comparable alternative room and a complimentary breakfast when we arrived early, 9.00am off the coastal steamer
Nothing to dislike
Location and helpful staff
Minor Issues with lack of bedding and a random plumbing problem that stoppe by itself.
buffet breakfast was excellent
Helpful staff, location was very good to visit the city, morning and evening buffet was rich and tasty, make your own waffles in the afternoon. Interesting design including the historical past of the building (bakery).
Very loud air-conditioning and not possible to turn off.
Good evening buffet and free waffels during the afternoon!
The room was very small and the view out of the window was depressing (a dirty backyard )
Good location Extremely friendly staff Free dinner Free afternoon waffles
Could have been more quiet Small room
Great value, free wifi, buffet dinner and afternoon coffee and waffles included. We arrived late and supper of soup, bread and cheese left out. Great location.
Room relatively small but clean and comfortable
Great location, unique design of the restaurant, tasty breakfasts and dinners, friendly and helpful staff (having arrived very late we were provided with a meal), access to the gym and sauna (you can find it on the top floor with a nice view), afternoon waffles with some coffe. Scream of the seagulls, especially at white nights, is just unforgettable.
A free beer was not served in the gym, but that is not the most important thing after all :)
The free bikes. The design of the restaurant. The roof terrace.
The meals were poor, the same dessert 2 nights running! The choice of fresh fruit was limited. The fish cakes one night were pretty grim.
Sentralt.kort vei til togstasjon
The reception was nice and the building had a nice character (old bakery). They managed to keep some of the details intact.
The rooms our outdated: furniture is of bad quality, tv is half a cubic meter (biggg), painting is shabby, etc. The breakfast was basic but ok (only the bread was excellent, the spreads and other offerings were nothing special). The 'free waffles' are nothing special either. There is a single wafle machine (covered in waffle mix), the mix is bad and there were not enough plates. It is free though, and something extra, but don't overadvertise something like this unless its perfect). Buffet (evening) was very mediocre. The cold salmon was the only positive thing. The rest consisted of cucumber, cold pasta (very basic), some salad (very basic), bread, etc. Wifi in rooms was poor. Although it was not terrible: don't go here, there are a lot of other better hotels.
This is a unique and comfortable hotel a short walk from the train station. There are history displays about its bakery days. They provide a great breakfast, waffles in the afternoon, and an adequate dinner buffet-all included in the reasonable price. We saved money by not eating at restaurants. It has a nice exercise room.
The hotel was in a good central location for exploring Trondheim and the staff were mostly friendly enough. We returned there to have an evening meal (one last chocolate mousse thingy) and a place to sit a few days later when we were passing through Tondheim again and catching the sleeper train to Oslo. It was an economical way to cover a need. The breakfasts were good. The dining area was pleasant.
On approaching from the railway station we were not at all impressed with the graffiti on the hotel walls or the weeds growing out of the pavement where it met the walls. We had booked a queen room and were disappointed to find it very small. The double bed was very small as well. The decor was grubby. On going into the restaurant for the buffet dinner at 19.40 we found that the soup had run out. The buffet was advertised as being available from 18.00 until 21.00 so I asked the girl the girl doing the catering if there would be any more soup. She said that there would not be. Shortly afterwards the chocolate mousse dessert ran out so there was no dessert either. Were we in Norway or Albania? The next morning we found that the door to our room could be opened after we had closed it to go out. The chambermaid and her colleague could not get it secure either so we complained to the reception and arranged a change to a twin room, which had more space, on our return. At least they had put a place of fruit in the room - presumably by way of an apology. The new room was an attic type with sloping ceilings but this time it was not grubby and were were better off in it than on our first night: it was not what we had booked, though. The food on the second and third nights did not run out but then we made sure that we got there in good time...we should not have had to. The same dessert appeared every night: a change would have been welcome.
Loved that we had access to so much- gym(great view), roof top relaxation and view, laundry, afternoon waffles, dinner option, late checkout and baggage storage whilst waiting for a late train. Very obliging staff.
The hotel had both a good location and a good concept where guests can enjoy staying. I'd like staff, the room where ok and the breakfast was excellent.
The shower in room 304 did not work perfectly, where the shower doors where broken before we came.
Good service, location
The room we were given seemed a bit worn down. The bathroom floor heating was on full and it was not possible to turn it down. In order to stay cool, we were forced to keep the windows open during the night. As the room faced out into the street, the noise from passers by and maintenance vehicles in the morning kept us awake.
the bed was not good, we both had back problems ad the end off our visite. And no room cleaning, we had to ask the frond desk for clean tows.
Location and superb conversion from old bakery Good food ( breakfast and supper with hot and cold choices) Ease of access from Flybuss
Relaxation facilities a little tired and not all working
Buffet breakfast afternoon tea and waffles and buffet supper all included in price Good central location with basement parking
Very well converted from old bakery but starting to need some fresh paint in places
