As Americans, we get spoiled by our sense of everything being "bigger and better"... while our deluxe room was a bit cozy by American standards, it was nice and roomy for our needs.
First, the staff was terrific and highly responsive. I literally had a dozen questions before arriving, and the staff answered all my questions professionally and seamlessly -- as members rolled off their shift, others happily picked up the conversation.
Second, the property itself is really nice. The buffet area was well stocked, beverages available at all hours, and the fireplace constantly had a log burning.
Third, our room was also really nice...nice bed, clean bright bathroom, quiet, well maintained.
Finally, the location is good. If you're an American visiting first time to Oslo, you'll want to train into the main station. This was an easy walk with luggage, not even 1 km, 10 minutes tops. It's a safe area for walking, and is one of, if not the nicest, hotel within an easy walk. We enjoyed multiple walks during our days to the nearby Opera House, Karl Johan's Gate, the Palace, the National Theater.
Would DEFINITELY stay here again!!!
